I recently used Reliable Heating and Air Conditioning in Napa, and they were outstanding. Derek came out to my house on one of the hottest days of the summer after I called that morning, and he arrived the very same day. After evaluating the situation, he determined that the issue was a damaged power line that needed to be rewired, which was outside the scope of an HVAC repair. Instead of simply leaving, Derek took the time to explain the problem and gave me the knowledge I needed to make the repair myself. It's rare to find a company that is this responsive, honest, and helpful. Having an air conditioning technician show up the same day during a heat wave is impressive, and the customer service was exceptional. I highly recommend Reliable Heating and Air Conditioning in Napa. They earned my trust and appreciation. I have to add Emily in the office is extremely nice as well. read more

We had our AC condenser and and evaporator replaced by Reliable. They did a great job! On time and on budget and used high quality Bryant components with 10 year warranties. Great communication from the office . Three polite young men showed up, were friendly and no nonsense and got the job done. I highly recommend them. read more

Jeff and team are excellent. Had a botched HVAC install (by another company) and he pulled a permit and brought it all up to snuff. His company would definitely be my first choice for any future work. read more

You can tell this company has long time employees and is extremely professional in their work, from office scheduling to site repair. I called on Monday and asked for a site visit Wednesday afternoon for a heater that clicked and clicked - would not start up. I was given a one hour window for them to arrive and Dan was 20 minutes early ! In ten minutes he had eliminated the blower motor as the problem and identified the control unit, the "brains of the system" as the issue. With our Trane heater being 29 years old, I said "well that won't be easy to find." He went out to the van, brought one in and wired it up, and in less than an hour we had a working heater ! This was a great experience, and the price was very reasonable. I highly recommend Reliable Refrigeration. read more

I love this company, they were fast, efficient, and did what they said they were going to do on time. He really felt the integrity of this company with their longtime employees and will use them from now on moving forward. read more

I called because my AC would start out cold and then get warm. They fit us in the next day. Technician Joe came out and did his magic. Was respectful, wore footies, checked EVERYTHING, and didn't pad the bill. What else can you say about this honest company. Don't call anyone else in Napa. read more

After two service calls with a different company and a heater still not working right we called Reliable....I wish we called them first! They were fast to respond and their technician polite and knowledgeable. He diagnosed the issue and had it repaired quickly. And finally after weeks of no heat...it's working perfectly. I highly recommend!! My only regret is not calling them sooner. read more

Our 20 yo heat pump died and I decided it was time to replace rather than attempt a costly repair. George was able to offer me several options and then get new heat pump and air handler units quickly and install them a few days later at a competitive price. A 5 person skilled team arrived on time and completed the removal of old equipment and new install in a few hours. After install, I had some questions about operating the units which were answered skillfully and to my satisfaction. read more

Such a great local company! I can't say enough good things about them. Our out of date heater stopped working one very cold night. The following day Jeff was out to quote us for a new set up, including air (after a few hot summers without air we knew it was time for a new setup). Within a couple of days we had our entire new setup delivered and installed. Due to our house's age and ducting, the crew ran into a problem with the furnace continually tripping....the night before Thanksgiving. Thankfully, George and the crew were determined to fix the problem. I am so very grateful for this company's efficiency, professionalism, and kindness. You won't be disappointed when hiring them! read more

My heater wasn't working on one of the coldest days this year, and when I started calling around, no one was going to be able to even show up to diagnose the problem for days. I called Reliable, they were going to be able to get someone over here the next day, albeit later in the day, so I took it. Then I get a call back from them that one of their technicians was ahead of schedule, and they could get here within 15 minutes. Less than an hour later my heater was fixed, and he fixed a few other things while he was here. The technician was great- friendly, professional and competent. Nothing but good things to say about this company! read more

If you have a lot of money, own a winery or do not care when your residential repair job gets done - call Reliable Refrigeration, Inc. Our first time experience with this company was not as expected. The Owner and field technician could not identify our heating and cooling unit made in the USA (Tennessee) for a part replacement. A week later, and a follow up call initiated by me, I was told "I have too much time on this." hearing this. A quick call by me to the manufacturer, by me had the part sent. Two weeks later the repair was complete, it took 30 minutes. Call an honest repair local that will not break the bank. Try Steve's Heat and Cooling or Adam Eck HVAC, for experienced repair work in the area. As a reminder, ask for a free estimate and hourly rate. Make sure the technician has tools necessary to test for leaks otherwise you will be charged for a return trip. read more

Replaced an ancient air conditioner, fantastic job. We got six estimates from local companies around town, Reliable wasn't the lowest but George was the only HVAC guy that looked at our system and suggested we have the attic returns replaced with insulated ducts and that the originals (1960's) were probably too small... the only guy. When we got the estimate I assumed the extra duct work would be expensive but it wasn't. Reliable's estimate was in the middle but compared to the others we got a lot more value for our money. Alex, Austin and Steve did a fantastic job with the installation. On time, super friendly and very professional. Drop cloths, 3rd and 4th walk though's to make sure everything was as it should be. They had some great suggestions to make the most of our new system and fixed the way our Nest thermostat is wired. The invoice came, it matched the estimate exactly, no surprises, no hidden fees, no extras. We couldn't be happier and highly recommend them if you're having your AC or furnace replaced/serviced/upgraded. read more

Installing an air conditioning unit was the first item on our list after purchasing our home, and sweltering through a few heatwaves working from home during COVID. I received a number of quotes from local businesses, and Reliable came in the lowest. More importantly, George respected my role as the project manager (and didn't ask to speak with my husband like another company did), and shared his knowledge and advice without upselling or talking down. During installation, his crew was respectful of our virtual school and work situations. A few days after with a small hiccup, George's team was back within a few hours of my call. The "Reliable" in their name is no joke or gimmick! read more

We made a 3.30 appointment. They came at 2.30.I found him walking around my house when I got back home at 3.15.We had agreed on a $95 call out .They wanted that for each unit.I said your cost for 1 or 4 is the same to get here .They agreed and we settled for a flat $95 travel time.I was showing him around and they were back at $95 a unit .I said that was not the deal and he left .Would never use them again or recommend them to anyone.Sharks beware everyone.Who walks into someones home with out authorisation . Just spoke with the owner. He thinks I am making all of this up as they would never give a 3.30 appointment in my area.I guess I do not know how to make an appointment. He said they would never agree to a $95 call out fee either .There girl Erica is amazing and I miss communicated with them !!!!! If you're going to put "reliable" in the name, calling a customer back seems like the place to start. I called twice and left voicemails and two days later they still haven't returned my call. These guys rock! They arrive on time, they do great work, and they are reasonably priced. I had them add air conditioning to my pool house, move my air conditioner (because the previous guys put it next to the window of the master bath??), and install a Nest thermostat so I can control it remotely. They even detected a gas leak from SOMEONE ELSE'S previous HVAC work and fixed that too. I would recommend them without hesitation! read more

Great company. They were very very pleasant and helpful on the phone and understanding of our situation. Dan Martin did the repairs. He was on time, gave us a thorough explanation of the problem and solution and returned as promised to complete the repair. Dan is a super nice guy who clearly knows his job. We are very pleased with every aspect of this repair and will recommend Reliable to everyone we know. Just, fyi...I called Bell Products first as they did the installation but was told it would be at least two weeks before anyone could come out. My friend waited 2 months for an a/c repair that took 15 minutes with a $20 part and $300+ bill. Take our advice, call Reliable! read more

I hired reliable to service my ac and heating system a year ago including changing all filters. I've used them for 20 years. Recently I went up to the attic and discovered the technician had not installed filter and left it next to the filter! So I went all winter w heat and NO filter. After several phone calls reliable refused to service my house and waive the fee. They wanted to charge me another fee to install a filter that they left uninstalled a year ago! This business is wonderful! I had Reliable come out for a job a few weeks ago but was ultimately left dissatisfied so I called them up to complain and was able to speak to the owner Jeff. Shortly after that Jeff came by my house personally with his technician to make sure the job was done to my satisfaction and at no extra charge. My heating and AC have never worked so well and I cannot be happier. (When was the last time the owner of Home Depot came out to make sure you were happy with their service?) When I spoke to Jeff after he finished the job he told me how his father had started the business many years ago and how his father told him "we are a local business and we will run into our customers all across town so you better make sure they are happy with you." Well Jeff - you exemplify what it means to provide local service with local care. You run a 6 star business. Thank you and the entire Reliable team! This company has been servicing my air-conditioners and I moved in five years ago. Never had a problem. Never. About two month a go my air conditioner stopped blowing air but I was still turning on. So he came and fixed it. He's name is Patrick. 2 to 3 weeks after that it wasn't turning on at all. My mother-in-law was paying for it she gave him a budget. Wish I could've came up with the rest of the money. So he came here in length and replace something. After he was done he said my motor was going out. You know it was going to go out but it was gonna go out. 2 to 3 days later it went out. After paying 250.00. I had to go on vacation so when I came back I called him. I asked him how much the motor was. It was only like $100 more. I could've paid him that if you would've communicated that with me. Even if you would've talk to my mother-in-law. She would've came up with extra money. We thought it was something minor. So now I'm being billed again. I called three days ago to make an appointment for them to put the motor back in. The girl was rude and said they don't bill people that they've never done it and I need to have the money when he get here. It build her credit card before. I don't see a problem. Very difficult to deal with. So we made an appointment for today. Have a very busy schedule and I asked her this Thursday not next Thursday. She said yes this Thursday. I move my schedule around. And no one showed up. When I called back she was like no I said next Thursday. I have it written down. She said their appointments are always a week out. I've called them and they either came the same day or couple days later. I asked her this Thursday not next Thursday. She said yes this Thursday. I asked to talk to the supervisor which has not called me back. It's very poor customer service is very poor communication skills. And it's not like you guys were going to get paid again for fixing the same thing. Which with can if communicating right. It would never had to come this. They've made a lot of money from me the last couple months. More irritated than anything. No one else can fix my ignition or I can wait. I can't keep giving money to a Company like that. Play more because it's not right. I'm not a satisfied customer. I don't think they care at all. If anybody contact me. I will add to my review. Thinking of writing a letter to the editor. August 27 2015 I had to call another company to get my Air-conditioner fixed. I had to call unreliable back and ask where the old Motor was so they can test it. Jeff or Jeffrey. Pick up the phone. All I really want to know was where was the motor. He was so rude and nasty. Start yelling at me and telling me that I don't have any money to get my air-conditioner fixed which that is not the issue. You got you money all the other time you bee out to my house the Lars two mo the. Don't count my money. Never dealt with someone so rude and disrespectful in my life. You Are in the business of pleasing your customers. Don't diss respect the people you depend on for your business to run. I'm frustrated with the company I have every right to voice my opinion. Especially if you guys got paid all fixed times you were out there in the last two months. Jeff or Jeffrey whoever he is to go flip burgers. Lady who answered the phone last week that was rude she should go flip burgers to. Don't talk to your customers like that. So disrespectful. I am Contacting the Better Business Bureau Next. And if it's not my motor that went out. I hope you know I'll see you in court. I am going Get some of my money back. read more

Called Reliable Refrigeration during a real hot spell in Napa. I was worried, because some HVAC companies are major scammers. (Read some the reviews of other companies, Yikes!) Well, no worries! Updating review........better service second time around. Got the old cranky ac to work.

My central air died on Saturday night, in the middle of a heat wave. I was expecting it to take a few days to get anyone out here. I left messages with a few of the Yelp-rated service places in Napa. Reliable was the only one to get back to me. Joe returned the call I left on their answering machine later Saturday night, and set up an appointment for Sunday. He arrived within their estimated time window, and quickly diagnosed the problem. Fortunately he had an exact replacement for the failed part in their truck, and my A/C was back up and running in a few minutes. He didn't try to sell me any other parts or services that I didn't need. Highly recommended! read more

I had an excellent experience with Reliable Refrigeration. Our furnace had multiple problems (two failed parts and improper installation) and Patrick diagnosed all of them and got it running as quickly and inexpensively as possible.
