You can tell this company has long time employees and is extremely professional in their work, from office scheduling to site repair. I called on Monday and asked for a site visit Wednesday afternoon for a heater that clicked and clicked - would not start up. I was given a one hour window for them to arrive and Dan was 20 minutes early ! In ten minutes he had eliminated the blower motor as the problem and identified the control unit, the "brains of the system" as the issue. With our Trane heater being 29 years old, I said "well that won't be easy to find." He went out to the van, brought one in and wired it up, and in less than an hour we had a working heater ! My heater wasn't working on one of the coldest days this year, and when I started calling around, no one was going to be able to even show up to diagnose the problem for days. I called Reliable, they were going to be able to get someone over here the next day, albeit later in the day, so I took it. Then I get a call back from them that one of their technicians was ahead of schedule, and they could get here within 15 minutes. Replaced an ancient air conditioner, fantastic job. We got six estimates from local companies around town, Reliable wasn't the lowest but George was the only HVAC guy that looked at our system and suggested we have the attic returns replaced with insulated ducts and that the originals (1960's) were probably too small... the only guy. When we got the estimate I assumed the extra duct work would be expensive but it wasn't. Reliable's estimate was in the middle but compared to the others we got a lot more value for our money. Alex, Austin and Steve did a fantastic job with the installation. On time, super friendly and very professional. Drop cloths, 3rd and 4th walk though's to make sure everything was as it should be. They had some great suggestions to make the most of our new system and fixed the way our Nest thermostat is wired. The invoice came, it matched the estimate exactly, no surprises, no hidden fees, no extras. We made a 3.30 appointment.They came at 2.30.I found him walking around my house when I got back home at 3.15.We had agreed on a $95 call out .They wanted that for each unit.I said your cost for 1 or 4 is the same to get here .They agreed and we settled for a flat $95 travel time.I was showing him around and they were back at $95 a unit .I said that was not the deal and he left .Would never use them again or recommend them to anyone.Sharks beware everyone.Who walks into someones home with out authorisation . He was on time, gave us a thorough explanation of the problem and solution and returned as promised to complete the repair. Dan is a super nice guy who clearly knows his job. I hired reliable to service my ac and heating system a year ago including changing all filters. I've used them for 20 years. Recently I went up to the attic and discovered the technician had not installed filter and left it next to the filter! So I went all winter w heat and NO filter. After several phone calls reliable refused to service my house and waive the fee. They wanted to charge me another fee to install a filter that they left uninstalled a year ago! This company has been servicing my air-conditioners and I moved in five years ago. Never had a problem. Never. About two month a go my air conditioner stopped blowing air but I was still turning on. So he came and fixed it. He's name is Patrick. 2 to 3 weeks after that it wasn't turning on at all. My mother-in-law was paying for it she gave him a budget. Wish I could've came up with the rest of the money. So he came here in length and replace something. After he was done he said my motor was going out. You know it was going to go out but it was gonna go out. 2 to 3 days later it went out. After paying 250.00. I had to go on vacation so when I came back I called him. I asked him how much the motor was. It was only like $100 more. I could've paid him that if you would've communicated that with me. Even if you would've talk to my mother-in-law. She would've came up with extra money. We thought it was something minor. So now I'm being billed again. I called three days ago to make an appointment for them to put the motor back in. The girl was rude and said they don't bill people that they've never done it and I need to have the money when he get here. It build her credit card before. I don't see a problem. Very difficult to deal with. So we made an appointment for today. Have a very busy schedule and I asked her this Thursday not next Thursday. She said yes this Thursday. I move my schedule around. And no one showed up. When I called back she was like no I said next Thursday. I have it written down. She said their appointments are always a week out. I've called them and they either came the same day or couple days later. I asked her this Thursday not next Thursday. She said yes this Thursday. I asked to talk to the supervisor which has not called me back. It's very poor customer service is very poor communication skills. And it's not like you guys were going to get paid again for fixing the same thing. Which with can if communicating right. It would never had to come this. They've made a lot of money from me the last couple months. More irritated than anything. No one else can fix my ignition or I can wait. I can't keep giving money to a Company like that. My central air died on Saturday night, in the middle of a heat wave. I was expecting it to take a few days to get anyone out here. I left messages with a few of the Yelp-rated service places in Napa. Reliable was the only one to get back to me. Joe returned the call I left on their answering machine later Saturday night, and set up an appointment for Sunday. He arrived within their estimated time window, and quickly diagnosed the problem. Fortunately he had an exact replacement for the failed part in their truck, and my A/C was back up and running in a few minutes. Our furnace had multiple problems (two failed parts and improper installation) and Patrick diagnosed all of them and got it running as quickly and inexpensively as possible. Another firm had come out previously and told us that we would need an expensive part that turned not to be necessary, and gave us a hard sell to replace the entire furnace. read more

I wish I could say something better about this company. I hired them-- on the advice of a mutual friend--to install 2 not-inexpensive wall mounted heat and cool pumps in my mobile home. During the prep and removal phase, they did a great job with a tough situation. So far so good. But when it came time to install the new system, they made a poor choice in drilling through an exterior wall to stabilize the compressor, drilling right through a group of wires in the wall, and in the process disabling the electrical and starting a small fire in the wall. At that point they made another poor choice and said the gardener/handyman had created the problem in an area not related to their work. It cost more than $2000 to get a competent electrician to confirm what they had done and fix the damage. On several occasions the owner said he would take the expense off my bill, which he did not do, then said he would send me a check to cover the cost. No go. I would steer clear. read more
