I was traveling into Coventry Ct. (from Dutchess County NY) to purchase a motorcycle when my truck…read morebroke down several miles from my destination. I attempted to "limp" my truck to where I needed to go in the hopes that I can deal with it there and not on the roadside. That clearly wasn't happening as it felt as if my wheel was close to coming off. I was unable to safely steer my vehicle at this point so I decided I need to stop immediately. As luck would have it, I was about to stop and across the street was the only auto repair shop I seen during my several mile drive on the shoulder. I went inside and was greeted by a really nice secretary who I explained my problem to. During my cry for help, a man came from the back of the office and quickly offered to take a look at my truck while advising me that he couldn't get my truck fixed that day because they were already booked up for the day. I was willing to take whatever help offered to me so I obliged. This man who I later identified as the shop owner and that I must add was well dressed with slacks and a button up shirt, got on his hands and knees and attempted to identify the problem. He then lifted my truck up with a floor jack and determined the exact issue of a bad hub/bearing assembly. Again, he advised me that he couldn't help me any further and I would have to leave the truck overnight. That wasn't an option for me and I was only one mile from the motorcycle I traveled all this way to buy. I thanked him for his time and told him I'll try to figure something else out. He kindly offered to let me remain in his parking lot to do so. After some time of getting nowhere with my insurance company's roadside assistance and without coming up with any other solution, I went back into the office to ask the secretary if she could recommend another reputable shop who can help me right away. Like the first time I went in, this same man came from the back as I was asking and offered to take my truck in right away once he received the parts. I'm not sure if he heard my desperation or frustration but this man pushed other already scheduled repairs to the side and also with a short staff that day. I am a complete stranger and from out of town. To me this was the most selfless act and sincerely compassionate towards my dilemma. I'm not even local so this wasn't a way to gain my business which is rare these days. So in my truck went! Now I'm trying to figure out how to still make this trip worth it and purchase this bike I came out here for. I was able to arrange for the person who was selling the bike to come drop it off at the repair shop and do the deal there which was another favor to ask of someone. The bike was dropped off to me while my truck was still on the lift being repaired. I now needed to figure out how to get it onto my truck. The owner of the shop even after all he's offered and done for me at this point, still continued to help me. Once my truck was finished, he and one of his techs came out with a motorcycle ramp and helped me load the bike up. This shop happened to have a motorcycle ramp! What are the odds?? I cannot express the gratitude I have for this business owner Tom Dubois, his wife and staff. They turned a bad situation into such a pleasant experience. I couldn't recommend them enough and I wish their shop was local to me. The people of that area are lucky to have a shop like this. I am in no way happy about breaking down. However, I am certainly happy I ended up at Dubois Automotive. I've dealt with many businesses and this is actually my first review i've ever written. I felt it necessary to share this story and give my opinion of this experience. I think this level of service will be hard to top. Many thanks again to Tom and his crew! My truck feels great now and I'm loving the new bike.

Mom's been happy with their work for years, and now I'm happy with it as well. I had to recently have some work done to my father-in-law's car and it took a little bit of time to get the first appointment in (just under 2 weeks) so that wasn't an issue. We had questions about replacing the coils, should we replace all 8, should we test and only replace the bad ones, could I buy the parts somewhere else if I found them cheaper. They answered every question and talked through the options with me. In the end, we did all the spark plugs and they tested the coils and replaced the single bad one they found. We made another appointment and brought the car back to have the passenger window repaired a few weeks later. We'll definitely continue to bring work here. Megan does all the phone and desk stuff and she's knowledgeable, courteous, and responsive. Thanks for providing great service and great work!

Spoke with Ryan and had the car towed up to him. Really knowledgable and friendly guy. He did a full inspection of the car and had it back up in running within a few days. Ended up replacing one of the heads, doing the gaskets, timing belt, and sorted sorted out a fuel leak and electrical issue I had for an incredibly reasonable price. Car runs great now. The shop is almost an hour from my house but it will be my go to shop from now on. Great people, great work, great price. Would give more stars if I could.

I took my wife's honda there to get a coolant leak fixed. I knew about where it was but simply…read moredidn't have the time to mess with it. They told me an estimate which was nowhere near accurate when we went to pick the car up a few days later. They mentioned nothing about how much the parts would cost and only said what the labor would cost. They didn't bother to call as soon as they found out how much the parts/total cost was approximately going to be, either. When my wife got in the car, she immediately noticed the battery 'idiot' light came on. I thought perhaps the battery was just getting weak and we drove it home anyway. A few days later she decided to try driving her car somewhere, it ended up stranding her. I had to come get her. I am very familiar with this car/engine as I pulled the engine out 7 years ago and rebuilt it complete with a cylinder head rebuild, block boring and ARP head studs. I replaced the alternator and remember some markings that were on it from the salvage yard I picked it up from. The car didn't have any charging problems but now it did (all of a sudden after we dropped it off there). When I took the alternator off, none of the markings the salvage yard put on the alternator were there. This alternator was nearly brand new on the salvage yard car I pulled it off of. Thinking about it, a few days later my wife says to me that she noticed another Honda just like hers but one model year newer was there at the same time as hers and was still there. We're thinking they swapped our good alternator with the alternator on that car. Pretty dirty stuff man....this is why I never take my car anywhere in this area, with the exception of Karnes over by the submarine base in Groton,on the rare occasion I can't get to it myself. I decided to take a chance this one time and see what happens and I got burned. I strongly suggest you stay away from these guys.
