They were to help my elderly mother by installing a new heater for free through the program So Cal Gas offers for people living on a low income. After months of run around, they refused to do anything; citing that the job would entail more work than they would be paid for. At first we were told that yes, they have a unit and after the initial inspection they had a solution, but then more delays until they refused any job. By then it was deep in Winter and very cold. This company should not be a part of this program which supposedly helps the community, especially our vulnerable elderly. They only care about what they can get. We have the energy savings program and Reliable was the one chosen to come and put a new heater and thermostat in. The installation was fine and they left saying that everything worked perfectly. We realized that our AC wasn't working anymore ( previously had absolutely no problems) but the heater was fine. We called and spoke to Oscar and he started accusing us as if we broke it and his workers were experts that fixed everything. After accusing us, he finally agreed to send someone to check it out. After 3 of his guys came out, 3 separate times to check it, none of them could figure it out saying you need a new AC. It was working perfectly, and you can tell it was a wiring problem. They are obviously not trained! I'm giving them a star because the installation went okay. The guys were nice and did it pretty fast. They respected my home, and I was so nice to them and fed them and made them feel comfortable. The piss off at the end was this fool Oscar. He made us feel like crap being so defensive and all he new how to say is " I trust my workers." He made us feel like because it was the energy savings program, he can manipulate us! This is a BS company! Not reliable by any means! Don't know what the hell they're doing! Made us feel like we did something wrong when it was 100% them. After the 3rd guy came and did nothing, I was done! I didn't even want them to fix it anymore! God only knows if they were to fix it and it was wrong, I could see my house explode and " Oscar" saying it was our fault, I trust my workers! After all the BS drama, I looked on yelp and found Boming Air. The guy responded, showed up, and fixed it within an hour. Reasonable price too. It WAS the wiring they screwed up and couldn't fix. Like come on! They couldn't figure out something so simple! What a joke! read more

Contacted the company for them to tell me they cant do anything. Supposedly they were going to have another department contact me and nothing. We live in an apt bldg in Los Angeles. 3 years ago one of their reps signed us up for energy savings repairs. They took income proofs from us to set a schedule for repairs. Never came back. Someone else came this year. Again, same thing. Took income documents, set up appts. All we got was shower-heads. They set appts 5 weeks from the day they signed us up, they show up and install shower heads and leave. They weatherstripped the neighbors door in the kitchen. She trips over the door shoe every time. They said they were going to do attic insulation, never heard from them again. God knows how much money they get from gas company for stuff they supposedly did. read more

My heater broke down right when we started to need it. I called Reliable Energy and had a technician come out to inspect the unit. The first thing I appreciated was that the technician called me well before he was coming. It gave me ample time to get home from work so I didn't have to miss work and wait around for him to show up. Then the very professsional and considerate technician inspected the unit and did a very thorough job. He found a small gas leak, a bad fan motor part, he also changed the overdue filter and the outdated mercury thermostat to an updated digital wall control panel. The technician was very honest and geniuine. I felt that he had my best interest in mind the whole time. No pressure sales or BS suggestions. Here's the SHORT story: I had a problem with my 30 year old Trane furnace. Everybody's busy due to Winter coming on. Most said a week or two to get a tech guy out. The first licensed HVAC plumber was incredibly incompetent and made a mess of things-paid him to stay away forever. After 2 months of additional "help" a short circuit was (probably created) and diagnosed. I finally called my trusted basic plumber who recommended a company that came out and offered to fix for $975, saying it needed a new wiring harness and maybe a new circuit board (at add'l cost, of course. They said only 4 wiring harnesses in USA, and going fast--no pressure, right? But of course they could get a city permit and do a complete new install for $6400.00. I should have seen it coming when they put on shoe guards to "protect my floors" !! Luckily and in the nick of time, I found Reliable Energy Management through a manufacturers website. They sent Richard out THE NEXT DAY and he found the short, repairing the existing wiring for $120.00. I was amazed. Very nice person, too. Stress gone and heater now working perfectly. Worst company ever. Far from reliable. They made appointments and didn't show, they failed to insulate my hot water heater properly and the city would not approve it. When our Honeywell thermostat stopped turning on our air conditioning, I called Honeywell. They recommended Reliable Energy, and gave me the phone number. After talking to Genesis at their office, I texted her a photo of my thermostat (to avoid having the technician come out only to say they would have to order the parts). Today, only one day after my call, Fausto came out. I couldn't be happier. He changed the old thermostat in less than a half hour and the fee was very reasonable. No wasted service charge. Just the charge for the actual service and part. My husband, who is almost never happy with a service company, even said, "They are great. Make sure you have their number for the next time". We have very high expectations, which are almost never met, but this time they were exceeded. That's why I had to stop to write them a review. They earned this five-star review.
