An accident in the garage left my Lexus ES with a dent in the rear passenger side panel. The dent was on a crease on the panel above the rear tire and I suspected it would be difficult to remove since the crease was dented. I messaged various dent removal services on Yelp and John did three things that I appreciated. First, he gave me a flat rate estimate. Second, he didn't raise the price when he confirmed my location was far from his home base in San Clemente. Third, he was able to come out to meet me at his earliest convenience compared to other services. For the dental results itself, it's amazing work he did. My family members were not able to tell there was a dent previously at all. The amount of care and work that John put into the dent removal is substantial and the results speak for itself. Decent dent repair, got door ding 90% out and improved. Went to John through a recommendation and he was punctual and realistic with expectations of what he could remove and what he couldn't. Only issue I had was window damage I found 2 months after the repair. I wouldn't have attributed to him but it was in a 1sqft pocket where he was inserting the metal tool over the window to get to the dent. He did place a metal protector that was felt lined over the window before using the tool, but it was really only the size of a clipboard. So I assume the scuffing was caused by being to the left or right of the metal protector. I only wash my car every few months since its garaged and I work from home so that was the reason I didn't see it immediately after. Also he did do the initial dent repair in the afternoon so I wasn't really focused on any area aside from the door dent. When I looked at replacement cost it was like 2-300 dolalrs direct from the manufacturer, so I did decide to call him to explain and to see if he can repair it or if I should have my insurance contact his. He got pretty defensive even when I explained and said I can send him pictures. I even told him I wouldn't have bothered calling but the location and direction of scratches all aligned with the work he did but he didn't like that. I didn't appreciate how he was saying "i'm not paying for a window from a repair TWO MONTHS AGO" as if two months was an outrageous amount of time to find damage? I even asked if he could repair it or if he had a glass person I could contact and he at least offered to buff and polish it later that week. I asked him how he would polish it since I have my own polishing tools for paint correction but I had never done glass so wasn't familiar if it was the same, and I was able to get it mostly out by just polishing it and I even let him know its all fine now. But the experience left me very sour so I would not recommend him to anyone I know. I even told my colleague who got his honda repaired by him and he was very surprised too. Based on his other reviews he sounds like a solid dent repair guy so hopefully my experience is just a one off. read more
