The location is clean, bright and the beds are set up ready to go. The beds are little short for us (if you're tall your legs might touch the wall) but they're HEATED which was awesome. My masseuse Betty was very attentive to my needs. It's not meant to be a slow-paced, aromatherapy massage. She has quick hands and great technique to get to your tight spots. She warned me in advance that my back would be sore for a few days, so no surprises. They apply menthol cooling cream as well to help with relaxing your muscles. Also does a few stretching / twisting poses to help with the massage. The head massage portion was fantastic, and the weighted hot towel felt amazing at the end to relax my back. We did a $79+ tax for 90 min combo, we used it all for body massage, but would love to try their foot massage as well. Currently not accepting any new RMT patients, but yes for acupuncture

When I called in the morning (Easter Sunday), the lady answered the call (I didn't expect that they would be open) and scheduled me an appointment right away. The premise is clean and tidy. The masseuse did a great job giving me a relaxing foot massage for 45 minutes. It also came with a 5-minute complimentary shoulder massage. I will definitely come back.

Clean & tidy studio and very affordable rates, but that's all the nice things I can say. I paid $60 for a 60-minute deep tissue massage, and I left with a VERY sore back--a soreness that did not exist before. The massage was painful, and not in a good way. The masseuse rubbed my bones more than my muscles. 30% of the hour was spent smoothing lotion over my back and arms with no real muscle targeting. She also kept accidentally scraping her nails against my skin, which was just abrasive and painful. At some points, she left the room with no warning, and then would return like nothing happened. One of the times she returned, she said nothing and I was surprised by having hot, wet towels plopped on my back. She gave no indication beforehand to prepare me. The end of the massage was her tapping my head really hard, and then she stopped abruptly and said, "done." I was disoriented and confused, and she then said, "one hour? done. bye!" and left the room very rushed. Then, the music (which had been playing in the room off and on, with sudden stops) suddenly changed to an advertisement being played over the speaker. Not very relaxing. After the hour was complete, I was about to head out (I had already paid online), but the lady at the front said "you have to tip!" I was caught off-guard, but she repeated it. She told me that a normal tip is $10-$20 for a $60 massage, so I paid $15, but after leaving the place, I realized I only tipped because I felt pressured to. I left feeling worse than I did when I went in, and the fact that she ordered us to tip was just rude. I will say, at least it was significantly cheaper than the other massage places I could find. $60 for an hour isn't nothing, but at least it wasn't $120 like the other places. The studio seemed clean and tidy. It's just that the service itself was not only disappointing but actually painful. I don't recommend.

That's so disappointing to me when I understood that the lady massaged me was not certified and worst is that now after 3 hours I feel a lot of pain in my back and legs. They were not honest at all and I don't recommend this place.

Horrifying Experience !…read more Torturous moment... I was being massaged by a middle-aged woman, who was not happy with my body & color of my skin, she made sure that I have the worst massage and comments to hear. She started with the colour of my skin, asking which country I was from and could not let go the argument. An argument that what I replied, is correct or not, then she had problems with my body, that it was different, she has not massaged anyone like my body, and that she is an RMT therapist, so she should not be doing massage to me... I did not get this point either, as I was getting an RMT massage. After 35 mins of torture I still asked her if she will go the massage or not, she brought a wet towel and started beating it on my back, so harshly that all my back hurt for 2 days and was all red. After this racism of 45 mins, I rushed out if room and complained about the incident to the owner, she called me back and offered free massage, anyways I would not plan to go back ever... It was a nightmare.

Lamai Thai Massage located along Yonge St. near Snowdon Ave around mid-town Toronto is the place to…read morego to if you want to treat yourself to a Thai massage. Located on the 2nd floor above a Thai restaurant, this place actually became viral on social media as they have a deal where you can get a massage for less than $50 along with a 3 course meal from the Thai restaurant on the ground floor. Lamai Thai Massage is not accessible where there are a set of stairs to climb when you enter. In terms of services, they offer traditional Thai foot massages, a Thai body massage, a Thai deep tissue massage (with oils), an aromatic massage, hammer tapping massage (toksen), as well as a RMT Swedish or Thai massage (coming soon). They are able to offer their services for 30 min, 45 min, 60 min, 90 min, or 120 min. I decided to get a Thai massage recently to take advantage of their grand opening week deal (any massage 60+ min would be 50% off). They currently do not offer any RMT services (they likely will in the future though!), so if you have benefits you will not be able to claim this expense. Booking my massage was fairly easy online on their website. There were only limited dates and times available since others probably were trying to take advantage of their grand opening deals as well. I was able to grab a spot on a Friday afternoon. Upon entering the space, it is relaxing and tranquil. The flight of stairs to climb is at least 10+ steps so you do have to be careful. The place was busy when I entered as the staff at the front desk was on the phone booking appointments for others. There was another customer ahead of me waiting to speak with staff. A few minutes of waiting 3 other customers came in. I waited about 5 min before staff addressed me (they even first spoke with the customers who came in after me first which kind of confused me a bit since I was waiting first). The front area does not have a lot of space so when I was finally checked in with staff it was a few minutes after the time of when my massage was supposed to start. The staff did give me slippers and also hung up my jacket for me. I was led to a changing room with a set of clothes to change into. My massage therapist ushered me into a single room shortly afterwards. I don't normally get Thai massages but the last one I had was likely a year ago. The massage was deep and the therapist definitely attempted to loosen all the shoulder knots I had. There were parts of the massage where she stood on me, massaging my back, arms, and legs. The pressure was great and I did feel more relaxed, less tense, and more relieved afterwards. Since I did a 60 min Thai massage, my massage was only $50 (with the discount applied). Overall, a nice experience. The place is likely not used to how popular or busy they got so likely the service will continue to improve over time. I'm curious to try a Thai foot massage next time!
