I've been a client at Bayview RMT for years now. Their location is accessible (a 5 min walk from the Bayview TTC subway station), their hours are convenient (7 days a week, 8am-9pm), their booking system is user-friendly, and their treatment rooms are spacious, quiet and clean. But more than anything, their RMTs are top-notch: skilled, professional, pleasant. Special shoutout to Manuela, who has helped me deal with various aches and pains all these years. I think the best way to describe how Manuela treats you is she listens with her hands - she never just goes through the motions or just sticks to a checklist. While she asks you at the start where the problematic areas are, she is also always hyper-aware as she goes through the treatment on areas you never thought needed a bit more work. This will become my regular RMT spot after today's visit! After feeling serious back aches over the past few days, I called Bayview Sheppard RMT on a whim to see if I could score a last minute appointment day-of. I was greeted by a very friendly receptionist who gave me a 45 min time slot later that afternoon. Toronto traffic let me down as I was on my way over, so I called and another receptionist answered, equally friendly, telling me it's not a problem to be a few mins late and didn't make me feel bad about it (unlike other places I've been to). Once I arrived, I filled out a quick form and was brought upstairs by my RMT Esther. She was the sweetest lady who made the whole experience very enjoyable. Her pressure was just right (although she did ask if I needed an adjustment a few mins in) and she really focused on the spots I needed most work on. Immediately after the massage I could feel a difference in my back. Also pretty sure I fell asleep at one point during the massage because the atmosphere was so serene. Soft music was playing in the background and despite their location on Sheppard Avenue, I could barely hear the street traffic. They even gave me a free heat/cooling gel pad for my first visit to take home! Just over $90 including tax for a 45 min massage, but no tip required. I'll definitely be back soon! read more

This is one of my favourite places to come and get massages. I came here after I injured my back a few years ago and one of their masseuses cured me in one session. I was so happy that I have been coming back ever since. All of the masseuses are really nice, professional and friendly. They sit down with you at the beginning to find out what you would like to work on and then the session begins. My friend recommended this place, so although I did not like their service the first time, I gave them two more chances, and now I'm sure I will never go back to this place. 1. The first time, my massage therapist did not manage the time, and could not finish the whole body in one hour, even though I specifically asked for a whole body massage. 2. In all of my experiences here, I had a major problem with the room temperature, to the point that the massage itself felt like torture! It is always soooo cold! And when you tell them, they just give you extra blanket, even though you are shivering from the low temperature! 3. The last time I went there, because of some intense yoga exercise, I really needed some massages on my hamstring muscles! But the massage therapist did not massage my legs any higher than my knees! This has never happened to me before! Maybe they assumed that customers are not comfortable receiving massages on their thighs, but I believe they simply should have asked! read more

The massage therapist are highly skilled and follow your instructions on what areas to focus on and the level of pressure you want. I decided to visit this place because it's close to where I work and honestly, I'm done with spending big $$ at a spa when sometimes all I need is some therapeutic massage for those sore neck and shoulders. Anyways, I came few minutes late but they were accommodating. I love their hours of operation! So flexible and I don't have to wait until weekends to get those knots out! I booked a 20 minute with Valerie because I really only need to zone in on those problem areas. I just have to say, Valerie is awesome. She made me feel at ease, was professional, friendly and I also got an awesome head and facial massage to go with the neck and shoulder which was just a great finish. I don't understand the negative review. A massage is such a personal experience with many preferences to consider. This clinic was recommended to me by a friend. I found all of their RMTs are professional and therapeutically excellent. It was hard for me to find THE right RMT, and I hit the jackpot with Phil, who I consistently return to. I also like their no tip policy so it feels more like healing therapy vs day spa. Nothing against day spas(I love them myself but for relaxation/girl time) but that's not what this clinic specializes in. If it's a therapeutic massage for a specific issue, please give this clinic a try and they'll match you with the right RMT. read more

I was able to get a same day appointment for a 75 minute massage in the evening with Kendra. They asked me to come 10 mins early and they weren't kidding - there were a lot of questions to be answered on their intake form, although I ended up re-summarizing my pain points anyway. It took awhile for the massage to start but Kendra apologized proactively for thinking that my massage was supposed to begin 15 mins after the scheduled time, which explained the slow start. Kendra was very attentive on pressure and pillow support, and when she was done, I felt much looser and flexible. She also was able to do very deep pressure, which I prefer. I fell asleep as well towards the end once she flipped me over so it was clearly relaxing. I gave four star rather than five only because unlike some of the best massages I've had, I didn't feel immediate release during the massage (although I did feel looser afterwards), it seemed expensive for Toronto for a dental office like ambience ($130 for 75 minutes), and I did not get a hot/cold gel pack as mentioned in many other reviews. But overall it was a very good massage and I'd recommend it. Note that the price includes tip as they don't accept additional gratuity. read more

I've been here many times now and I really like Christine's massage the best. The other ladies I've tried when Christine is not available is also very good. I find Christine is better for me on finding that right pressure. I did not put 5 stars because pricing is higher then most places. But definitely a must try very polite staff. read more

I have been to this clinic more than 15 times. The building and furniture are old. So it is not your modern spa, but they are open from 8 am to 9 pm, seven days a week which is a plus for busy people. Location is good too,close to subway and free parking at the back. They are very professional and I have always been enjoying my massages. Would recommend them. read more

I had a very good massage here about 2 years ago. I found it because I was looking for a place with child care. They used to offer one day a month for parents to have a massage while their child stayed onsite with a nanny. Sadly- they no longer offer this service due to lack of demand. There is parking available, and the place is clean and cozy. The treatment room I was in was very big -- didn't feel like I was getting a massage in a closet! I brought my 10 month old with me and left her in a cozy room full of toys with a nanny who was able to entertain a couple little ones and feed them as requested. The treatment room was far enough away from the childcare room that I couldn't hear a thing. Amazing. My RMT was great -- I wish I could recall her name! -- very thorough, listened well, used proper depth of pressure and relaxing techniques. Professional. They insist on not accepting tips for the RMTs (which is what the CMTO generally advises), and child care was included in my cost. Now... If only it didn't seem so far away! If they opened a location near the Danforth I would make it my fall-back destination if my other RMT was not available! read more

My wife and I went for a couples massage at Bayview RMT about a month ago. Everything was simple and straightforward as we would expect. My RMT was great - nothing was overworked or underworked. My wife's story was a bit different, but then it's likely because she mentioned her back was sore and therefore received 60 minutes on her back alone. The room was a good size and inviting, It really was an overall relaxing experience. The only two negative points are small but worth mentioning. First is the it's located in an area of old houses converted to commercial properties right on Sheppard, which is a fairly busy street. It's not the easiest to get into or out of with traffic, but this isn't a huge issue. It's also a slightly steep/narrow climb to the upper floor. The second issue is my insurance wouldn't cover the full cost because they deemed it to be higher than normal. We didn't get any special treatments, and I wouldn't have expected to have any issues with a 60 minute treatment. All things said, I would consider going back there once in a while, but not for regular treatments mainly due to the cost. read more

I am blessed to have a Mother -in-law that recognizes quality. After dropping her off at Bayview Sheppard, RMT decided to book and try the place. Let's just say I dont give 5 stars unless I'm pretty sure the place deserves it. First of all booking was very easy and efficient. They're open until 9PM so that gave us a great deal of time to fit into our schedule. We managed to get a couple room at a time both convenient to our schedule which was awesome. Lemon water complimentary at the entrance/exit (self-service) I find a thoughtful touch. You are required to take off your shoes upon entering their small reception area. Clean slippers ready to be used offered in a bin grouped according to size. While we were waiting and filling up our forms you can hear the phones ringing for last minute waitlist of any cancellations which I thought was a very good sign. The place was quite busy people coming in and out yet it still retained the spa-like ambience you want to have in a place where you want to relax. Very well managed - another good sign. My first visit with Rona went great. We shortly discussed my points of where and how stressed I was etc. before she had me embarrassingly asleep on her table . I would not have been surprised or more embarrassed if I had been drooling (No it did not happen - thank goodness). Woke up with that satisfied buzz. Looking forward to coming again. A few days after our massage we received a call. It was to ask us how we were feeling which is only another proof how they look after their clients. read more

I enjoy this massage clinic. For a few reasons, not only do they provide quality, relaxing massages, but they're a lot less arrogant/stuck up than masseuses you generally encounter in Spas (for example Rain Spa across the street) and make you feel at home. They also have really great hours (open late and Weekends!) I've had a few different massages with a few different masseuses here, and all were quite enjoyable, however a couple things that would bump them up to 5 stars: 1) the rooms on the lower floor are noisy. You can hear people walking around and chatting in the lobby area. I would suggest they update the soundproofing a bit to help with this. The hardwood floors also make it a bit noisy. Perhaps some area rugs? As such, I would suggest requesting a room upstairs when booking your appointment. 2) I have sensitive skin and massage oils really cause it to react. While two of my masseuses had alternative options (lotion as opposed to oil) another one didn't. I would suggest having options for people with specific needs such as this. read more
