My experience here was not as expected based on the views. I came in with specific points of pain that I asked for help with knots in my back, and the masseuse suggested hot stone massage. So we tried that, but I could not get comfortable on her table and though she applied the stones and pressure as she could, she never really achieved enough pressure to relieve my pain and situation. I left there unrelieved, and a chiropractor the next day took care of the problem. I feel like there were some language issues as well, so your experience may be different. read more

Relaxing Messages Spa was great! My husband and I made appointments for a couples message for two. We had a great and relaxing time, and the price was great. I just started working out again and my body hurts! I left there feeling wonderful and renewed. Definitely making another appointment. I was in town for a client meeting. I am late 60's, and have had back issues on and off for years. Woke up that morning with really bad low back pain. Don't know if I just slept wrong, or did something to aggravate it the day before. My meeting was at 2PM, with a flight out at 7 that evening. I Googled "massage near me" . After reading about the places nearby, I decided on Relax Massage Spa. I walked in, kinda bent over from my low back pain. Lady greeted me and right away said, "back problem?" . Her name was Lisa and she led to the back. The shop is very nicely decorated, very clean. I explained where it hurt and my history of back issues. Though her English was not great, she seemed to understand. She told to get undressed, but leave my boxers on. She came back with some oil and lotions and started on my shoulders. Lisa was unbelievable. I laid there while she seemed to find every knot and loosened it up. I then for the first time for me, she started walking on my back with slow, steady pressure. My boyfriend and I came in for a 90 min full body massage. I feel a bit bad for saying this but the lady who was massaging me - I don't think she was a masseuse - I think she maybe worked as a cleaning lady there and the owner pulled her in to do the massage since she had no one else. She pressed on my nerves and bones mostly and only sometimes muscle. She also tried to move/stretch? my shoulder joint in a way that made me feel like I was going to get injured. At that point I told her I didn't think she was doing it correctly and asked to not do my back anymore, just lower body. The lady who was massaging my boyfriend (I think she was the owner) then switched and massaged me instead. She gave a normal massage and I even fell asleep because it was pretty relaxing. My boyfriend told me that my lady (who had switched to him for the last 60 min of the massage) definitely did not know what she was doing or where to press. I don't want to be that annoying person but honestly the reason I chose this place out of the places in Carson city is because of the 5 star reviews. I would recommend trying out one of the other massage places or if you go here, maybe specify you want the owner to do the massage. If we hadn't switched masseuses, I would've stopped the massage and asked for a refund or just left. read more
