The lady was courteous and answered any questions I had. I was super impressed, the room was only $45! For that price it's a great value. The bed is huge and very bouncy, the pillows are firm which I prefer. There's a flat screen tv with cable and HBO, a microwave, AND fridge. The AC unit works extremely well and actually got TOO cold, I had to turn it off. The restroom only has two bars of soap (but of course, 2 of each towel), so you may want to bring your own bath accessories. This motel is in a very small and old historical town, so everything here is very dated. This doesn't compete with a Westin or Ritz, but for location and value you get your money's worth. I will likely be staying here again if I visit Marlin in the future.

I calmly told him that I could do that and that he needed to reverse what he did, which he reluctantly did. The first card key he issued did not work so I had to go back in again to get another card. Once we got into the room we were hit by a wave of heat and old musty smell, which cause my wife to started gagging. The first thing that my wife saw was a spider on the bed she was about to lie down on. Throughout our one night stay I think we killed five or six spiders and I woke up about 4:00am with a very itchy bite in my leg. The beds were not comfortable at all and my back was killing by the time we got up in the morning. The AC was about the only thing that I can say was satisfactory. I will not be staying here again.

I stayed here numerous times and never had a problem except once when the power went out in the entire building for a couple hours; but as far as I know that was a one time deal and even then they still did everything possible to make my stay comfortable. Beds are comfortable and extra pillows are always available upon request. Breakfast quality is good. Nothing phenomenal but definitely good for chain hotel standards. Semi-strong Internet service but to be honest in this part of Texas I don't think anybody has a strong Internet signal that I'm aware of.
