I did a deep tissue massage with a Chinese female therapist the other day and I would not do it again. I still had bruises from my last massage at this place after about 2 weeks! I am a person who get massage often, but I NEVER got bruises! During my massage session, I told the therapist several times that I cannot tolerate the pressure of the massage, but she just continued and said it was good for me. Good for what? The pressure was too hard that I felt I was beaten up by someone very strong, and I felt sore the day after. Besides, they use a kind of Chinese herb to warm your meridians over the back, without asking for my medical condition. How would they know that it is safe to use on every client?! I am very scared of this and when I questioned about what was it and why were you using that thing on me, the therapist just said it was a deep tissue massage so this is included. But why? I never had a deep tissue massage that comes with that. They don't have a private room with real wall, just a plastic paper wall divider to separate you from next room. You can hear everything going on in the whole spa. That is not relaxing at all. They are like the $45 for one hour massage places but they try to charge you doubled prices for what they are offering. And most important of all, even for a $45 massage, I don't get bruises like this one. I will never come here again. read more

Was brought here for my birthday and can honestly say this was one of the best massages I've ever received! My therapist was Helen and she was absolutely amazing. She worked every kink and knot out of each and every one of my muscles. The location is nice and quaint with smoothing music throughout. The only reason why I cannot give this location 5 stars is because of the noise levels. The walls are very thin and they do not have actual doors, the have sliding panels that act as doors. Throughout my session I was disturbed twice due to other noisy clients. I met the owner at Mayfest and decided to book an appointment for my birthday soon afterwards. I was lured by the first time visit special of $49 for 60 minute massage and $59 for 60 minute customized facial. When I made the appointment, I mentioned to the person who answered the phone that I would like the first time visit specials. I was asked if I wanted a Swedish or deep tissue massage. I answered deep tissue because I thought it would really be relaxing. After the facial ended, I thought it was shorter than 30 minutes. The deep tissue massage was far from relaxing. I said 5 times to the massage therapist that I was not enjoying the massage because the pressure was too much, and I needed her to use less pressure. I was wincing in pain often during the massage and for days afterwards. When I paid, I was told the deep tissue massage costs $79. I complained about that, but was denied the $59 special. When I commented that the facial was not 60 minutes and the deep tissue was very painful...I was told that the facial therapist was new and she must not have gone 60 minutes, but the massage therapist gave me a longer massage to compensate. Exactly what I did not want or ask for. Also, the massage therapist stated that when the client says to use less pressure...she presses harder. Loved my experience here! Today was the first time I've attended this spa along with my friend and we were both very pleased with their services! They were very accommodating and fit us into their schedule last minute! The staff were very welcoming and knowledgeable about what they were doing (we both got Swedish massages). I've had back pain for months now and just within one short treatment, my neck and back muscles feel a lot less tense! Daniel was great and talked through everything he did. He also worked heavily on my problem areas which i really appreciated and educated me on those areas, as well as beneficial treatments. I got a confirmation very soon after I booked. I booked the deep tissue massage and it was really great. She mixed eastern & Swedish techniques for an unusual experience that was great for someone like me who has had 100's of massages. I felt heard and cared for. I had an amazing deep tissue massage this evening. I called around 1:00 in the afternoon and left a message with the owner's husband ,Daniel, that I was hoping to get a massage the same day. Most massage therapists don't even get back to you if they are in the middle of a session. Daniel promptly called me back to say that his wife would definitely be able to accommodate. Not only was I able to get in the same day but she really got into areas I didn't even realize needed work. I generally require very very deep pressure and she DID NOT disappoint . She even gave me tips on reflexology - pressure points that relate to my deep neck and shoulder pain. I found this spa off of livingsocial and the reviews were good so I bought a couples massage package. I got to the place and first thing they ask me to pay for the tax, which is fine. We go in to the room and our masseuses come in and ask if we would like deep tissue massages. We agree and get 2 very nice massages, which made us very relaxed. Until we come outside to leave and are told we need to pay an another $20 per person for the deep tissue massage. This was never told to us before or during the massage. Nor was it listed on the livingsocial voucher. This place is a rip-off and not worth the money. I will never come here again. Save your money and go somewhere else reputable that doesn't have hidden fees. read more

I was looking for a relaxing couples massage for my fiancé and myself. All the reviews were good but after going here I can't understand why. I booked our appointment a week in advance, upon arriving we had to wait about 20 minutes or so for them to finish another massage. The place was clean but I could honestly say this is the worst and most painful massage I've ever gotten. Attempting to massage my neck she was kneading roughly into my skull and the side of my neck. Moving onto my back she was not hitting any tension in my muscles, she was basically massage my back with the side of her arm (bone) and as she moved up she'd jab into the back of my head.. I left there in so much pain, 5 days later and the pain continues. I can barely move my neck and my back has been extremely sore. Aside from the pain I couldn't even relax because she kept answering the phone during my massage. We were also interrupted by another couple talking loudly. My fiancé had to ask the lady to have them lower their voices. I did not enjoy this massage one bit and very much regret wasting money here. I will definitely not be returning here. read more
