This had to be the most awkward experience at a massage place in my life, well besides that time I got a Korean scrub and my masseuse decided to shower next to me. But back to Muse Spa. My friend and I decided to get a massage last Saturday evening b/c we didn't feel like going out to the bars and were in the area. The sitting area and massage rooms were everything you'd expect of a no frill massage joint. One weird thing, and I now know why they make you do this, is you have to pay for your massage AND tip before the start of your massage. What? Yep. And that's b/c you're about to have the worst experience of your massage life. I entered the room about 9:05PM, stripped down and laid on the table waiting for my lady. She came in a few minutes later. She never once removed my towel to massage my skin. Didn't use oils or lotions and didn't use a hot towel. How do I know they even offer this, well my friend that was next door received all of the above. I felt like my lady was just poking me here and there with her fingers and karate chopping my back. There was absolutely no technique used. After a short period, she said, "Ok, finished." Thoroughly confused, I looked at my phone and it had been 20 minutes. I paid for 30. The lady came back in my room and offered me water. I asked why my massage was 10 minutes short. She said, "No, you're wrong it was 30 min." I get dressed and go back into the lobby and sit and wait for my friend. It took me a while to get dressed as it's winter and I had layers and boots. I sat down on the sofa at 9:29PM. So I decided to complain to the manager. I had my credit card receipt saying I payed exactly at 9PM. My friend paid after. I didn't even go into the room until 5 after, then I had to undress and wait for the lady to come in. If we're being honest here, she probably started around 9:10PM and ended at 9:25PM and that's being generous. The woman at the front desk said I would have to ask the woman that was working on my friend. So I waited another 10 minutes for her to be done (watched as a hot towel entered the room). The woman that was working on my friend just smiled and said the girl was new and that she wanted to go home, that's why my massage was short. I said that it wasn't really an excuse, it's a 24 hour massage place and if they couldn't have accommodated two people then they shouldn't have taken our money. She just smiled again and said, she was sorry but the girl was new and was tired. Can't make this up people. In the end, the new-tired-girl-that-wanted-to-go-home-that-lacked-any-sort-of-massage-skill-ended up giving me back my tip. Biggest waste of money ever. Go elsewhere. My friend mentioned her massage was filled with hard pressure, oils, lotions and warm towels. I got none of that. read more

I get massage frequently, especially foot massage(reflexology). Recently discovered Muse spa which is just around the corner from my office in Korean town .They just completed brand-new renovation and the spa is kept super clean. One of the best massage I have received outside of Asia! She hit all the right spots .. I almost fell asleep during the massage. Do NOT waste your time by coming here. Total waste and rude people. If there was negative 0 I would give it. My husband and I came to this place for massage around 2am. Nice to have these place open late. I was very tired and sore. First of all, the deal on Yelp is not valid. The girl said $100 for two people. We went in and laid down. The table is covered with paper and I felt hot in that room. I was actually sweating. The paper on table got stuck to my body and was very uncomfortable. After waiting for some time, a girl and guy came to massage us. The girl was doing my husbands massage but kept getting called out for whatever reason. The guy was doing mine and he was doing it VERY softly. I told him to please put more pressure and he said just relax. For over half an hour, he was just gently rubbing his hand around over the the towel. No lotion nothing. The girl doing my husband was doing lotion. Waited and waited, he finally did a little lotion on back. Then went back to towel. Still all very soft when by now I told him more pressure/stronger over 3-4 times. Next to me my husband turned around and lady was massaging his head and chest. I was still laying face down with paper stuck to my body and girl taps and says its 1hr done. Never even turned me around or anything. We got up and dressed up. Told my husband that no tip for them as it was a waste for me. We went to front desk and a man was there. My husband gave $100 to him. Guy said at night it's $52 per person. My husband took out $4 and gave it, but I said the girl said $100 for both. He said, yeah but tip? My husband said yes no tip because we didn't like it. The guy became rude and says here take your tip back. Really? First you shamelessly impose the big $4 tip, and then act as if doing a favor back by returning it? We gave it back and said keep it, it's not a big deal but that's terrible service. I don't think he cared. But seriously, don't waste your time here. It's barely run by two people who are no good. Go next door to Spa 32. That's where I had to go spend more money for an actual massage. Much more friendly people and pricing is reasonable too! And they actually put pressure according to what I told them. This is the worst massage I have ever received in my entire life. Very light pressure, as if they were just gliding their hands without any pressure. I doubt the person I received had any formal training as a masseuse. Asymmetric techniques, did not work on any area other than neck, thoracic, lumbar and upper gluteal muscles. They skipped the arms and legs entirely. One tip would be to not go during peak karaoke times. They do have insulation for noise but it is still not that great. Also, people are constantly getting off on the wrong floor and asking if the massage floor is the karaoke floor. Very disruptive when trying to relax. They are open 24 hours and perhaps they are more tranquil during off peak karaoke hours. My recommendation to the facility is to hire better masseuses. I had a great experience at Muse Spa and I went for the 45 minute foot massage and 45 minute back massage for the very reasonable price of $60.00. Although the masseuse had a rudimentary command of the English language I felt "that she has eyes in her fingers" meaning that she was very intuitive. I will go back. read more
