Trail has a water reservoir in the midst of it. On the same side as the mini trail there's a cute woodsy kiddy park and a blue workout area where there are high n low platforms and hanging rings. Across the road is Carolina Courts. Next to it continues the Chestnut Square Park facilities: three lit tennis courts (no backboard), sand volleyball courts, and a football field (used also for soccer). They are all with lights.

The walking track was my favorite feature today though after my hike earlier, I didn't spend too much time here. There is ample parking with entrances from Deal Street and Cleveland Avenue where the Kings Mountain Crisis Ministry is located. It seems to share space with the Kings Mountain Family YMCA as well. For a change, the restrooms were open and accessible (September 2020). The splashpad looked like fun and was in use by a family today. I lucked out and managed to get a picture without overly concerning the attending parents. Again, several matches underway (September 2020) and very little social distancing going on by the spectators. Found one…read more In addition to the soccer/football field and the two softball fields and the baseball stadium and the two batting cages and the playground and the THREE picnic shelters, they also have a 1.5 mile walking trail here. There is a restroom facility here that was very useful and surprisingly clean. On a holiday weekend, the place was packed with quite a lot of people here playing and spectacting. The park is easy to access but is down a tree lined road off Nations Ford. Other than the soccer fields, there are half-court and full-court basketball courts, walking trails, a picnic shelter with grills restrooms and playgrounds. It's a HUGE park.

This is a quaint little park serving the relatively affluent area surrounding it. It features a…read morebaseball field, tennis court, basketball court, a multi-sport field, playground, extensive picnic shelter and ample parking. It's mostly clean with well maintained grounds. However, there are plenty of repairs/upkeep needed for erosion especially - the place just looks a bit dated. For my part, I'm disappointed that there is no real walking trail. You can do lots of walking between the large parking lot here and the neighboring church parking lot though, if you don't mind pavement. On weekends they get packed out to the brim. Small kids all over the playground and multiple teams squeezing in practice on the fields. Coolest thing to me were the two cell towers that were disguised as pine trees. Those had me in the first half, not gonna lie.
