Quality work at a good value. Understanding Spanish is a plus. Johan called when he was running late.

I recently discovered sewage backing up into my basement (YUCK!), and not sure how long it had been…read morehappening before we noticed the smell. Needless to say, I called Roto-Rooter. They had someone snake the pipe, and immediately give us a quote to clean up the disaster it had caused. They also inspected the rest of the line with a camera incase there was anything else going on. Their cleanup crew were the true superstars- full hazmat suits working until 7:30pm... and Roto-Rooter is dealing directly with the insurance company- so hopefully that helps streamline the process! We did have their plumber quote a separate but related steam pipe leak- but I decided to go with my local/regular plumber for that- at 1/2 the price! Roto-Rooter is amazing for messy, emergency projects, but I'll always prefer my local plumber for non-urgent issues.

I had a leaking toilet emergency in Jersey City this morning and called Roto-Rooter because I was…read morecompletely out of my depth and needed professional help. I explained multiple times that I'm a renter, that I was panicking a bit, and that I genuinely did not know what to do. Instead of helping, the woman on the phone told me they wouldn't be able to assist because I'm a renter and because my building has maintenance/property management. She even incorrectly told me "that's what your lease says," which was not true. My property manager had already told me I could handle the repair and deduct the cost from rent. What frustrates me most is what happened next: I called Dr. Drip Plumbing & Heating, and the VERY FIRST thing they did was calmly explain how to shut off the water to stop the leak immediately. Roto-Rooter never once mentioned this -- despite knowing I had no idea what I was doing and that water was actively leaking. That basic advice could have saved me a lot of stress in the moment. It really felt like Roto-Rooter only cared whether they were getting paid, not whether a stressed customer actually needed help. Meanwhile, Dr. Drip Plumbing & Heating immediately treated me like a human being and helped me solve the immediate problem before anything else. If you're in Jersey City, I'd strongly recommend supporting a smaller local company that actually cares about people.

We ordered a new dishwasher through Home Depot, but they said the pipe under the kitchen sink…read morethat's connected to the dishwasher would need to be replaced in order for them to install the new one. I sent Yelp and direct-website-messages to 7-8 companies. Most of them never even bothered to respond (despite sending follow-up messages) and 2 said they don't do that sort of work even though they are plumbers? WaterMac not only responded quickly, but they were able to come out to inspect quickly, and he was even able to fix it in the same trip. The technician also gave me separate quotes for other things he noticed that could use some work, and I was able to pick and choose which ones I wanted done right then and there, and I have the quotes in my email to reference if I want to go ahead with additional service later on. I can't speak on the price, since I got no responses from other places to compare with, but I appreciate WaterMac being responsive and communicative. The technician Justin was also right on time and very professional. One thing to note is that they charge $60 to come out and quote, but if you go with them for the service too, they will put that $60 towards the bill.

They got back to me quickly with a quote and put me on the list for next day's visit. Igor showed up right on time. My in-laws were instantly impressed that he wore shoe covers in the house. Fixed the issue in expedient manner. Communication was A+ professional at all times. The price is also very good for Montclair area. All in all I will definitely use them again in the future.
