Even when my wife was an employee at a competing outdoor retailer (where I got a discount) I was still shopping online at STP. When I found out they were building a brick and mortar store here in Columbus I was beyond thrilled! As it is part of the TJX companies it still means that the store is a gamble when it comes to brands and sizes found. However, it makes a great starting point as you can easily search their site to see if there are other sizes, colors, etc available. Don't have a tiny pocket computer (aka a smart phone)? There's no need to fret! In store they even have a kiosk where you can search their online stock. My only real dislike of the physical store is that as of right now they do not accept the countless coupons that come to my email address. This may change soon as an employee recently told me that they would start honoring them. Until then, I will still order the bulk of my purchases from the website so I can use the frequent STP coupons. With the store so close it's super easy to return to the store with no hassle. This is extremely helpful when ordering shoes online as some outdoor brands use variations of European sizing that allow for greater fit specification. Recently I ordered two pairs of a boot to see if they would work for my job. Having a low volume super narrow foot they did not but, with the painless returns it was no problem. I couldn't remember the name of the sweater but I described it in detail. They told me that they didn't sell that type of sweater and I had to tell them that they definitely did. They began to argue with me and I had to end up taking out my phone to show them their own website. It was pretty shocking actually that it came to that. The picture I showed them on their website was the exact model I described and they still couldn't find it in the store. I ended up walking away and finding it folded up on a main display. A crazy experience for sure that definitely makes me want to shop online only and skip the store experience.

They make fantastic clothing, shoes, bags, hats, gloves, accesories, and more. The store is well organized, clean, and well staffed. If The North Face name is on the label they sell it at their stand alone store. This is a great place to shop for men, women, and children. You pay for what you get and those who have worn they apparel know that it isn't on the cheap side but it lasts forever and wears very well. They have some great sales at the holidays and on the discount rack as they rotate their merchandise each season. I was greeted walking in, had a couple people ask if I needed help, checkout was a breeze, and I was happy to get a lightweight rain coat/wind breakers for the summer in a boat. In the shoe department there were three associates kicking it and not approaching anyone for help so took a star down. Once my husband approached them, only then did we get what we needed. Weird. The checkout was awesome great staff who welcomed us with a smile and was super efficient and smooth with our transaction. During the COVID years, DSG kept it legit and professional with car deliveries. When I do stop for golf gear, I'm always approached in that department offering help so that makes me happy. Overall, I do love this store experience overall. Admittedly, I did try the new Polaris location the weekend of their re-opening Aug 15-17 and what a nightmare. Too loud and too big for my taste. Two little aisles of camping gear, and that's it. Their grilling section is four times as big as the camping section. I guess that's what people wanna buy, but if you are looking for outdoor supplies, this is not the place to come.

I was that guy who picked up a shirt or jersey in a department store or grocery. I've been in BC several times to get a specific gift for someone, but always balked at the prices. Here's why I'm here today.... Another game on tv, another jab at my brother from mom. "He bought me a jersey 8 years ago that was too big. I gave it back to him to get another smaller size. Never did." That is just mama guilt that every child is aware of. The reality is, she wore the shirt tucked in for 2 years, then gave it back to him. There's no 2 year return policy. Enough was enough. Next day, mom and I were on the journey for the jersey that fit her. No way was I chancing an online purchase without her trying it on. Kohls- no jerseys. Macys- 14 total jerseys to sell. Dicks- Lots to choose from, but not her size. By now I'm hearing about her disdain for the women's fit for women's jerseys. Now we are here at BC. Minutes before noon opening and there is a crowd outside. We see the custom made jerseys through the window. When the store opens, I pull her from custom to the wall to find the proper fit first. We had great customer service in getting unreachable items down, and the search for a size. Finally it's a Youth XL. Not a popular stocked item in most stores. Now for the number. **Did you know that OSU has a contract with Nike that they can only print two jersey numbers a year? This year it's #1 and #17. One number will always the year(#17). Here's the stumble. Plenty of great player jersey's hanging up for sale labeled as "Throw-backs" for a premium price. Ok so we can just get what we want custom. We move over to get her a custom Youth XL. "What would you like on it?" Uh oh. She is unprepared. A quick google/police report/wikipedia search gives her a decision. #27. "OK, what name on the back?" You are restricted from any player name or trademark. She wanted no name at all, only to be told it is required. Even OH IO, is trademarked as a firm NO. Oh it's been a long enough journey. Please make it stop. She has chosen. Yes. we are done! Nope........... She does not have a Youth XL jersey. Really? Wasn't that the first thing I said? Back to the rack. "17 or 1 mom?" Only red jersey choice is #1. Try it it on. Fits? Relief. I take the opportunity while there to ask mom to pick out some T shirts for Christmas gifts. Good sale on good quality. Now I'm in line and it's much shorter now that all that opening crowd of shoppers and returns has left. "Do you have a rewards membership?" No. They offer a first tier of pay a fee, get some percentage off. They offer a second tier of pay a larger fee, get a another percentage off. Take note that the tier has a very limited life. "Do you offer a Military discount?" NO "Do you offer a Senior discount?" NO "Do you accept ApplePay?" NO Mark my items on receipt as Christmas gifts. The merchandise is of higher quality, and you must pay for it. The selection here is everything for the true Buckeye Fan. I think that going forward I will give gift certificate gifts for this store. I think a fan would enjoy this visit more than just a shopper would.

They are constantly adding new stuff to their shelves. Yeah they are $32 bucks a shirt, but the quality is far better than anything you'd get at Wal-mart or Target. Be sure to check out the NBA Jam arcade machine in the store that you can play for free, and as you make your purchase ask for a coke :)
