I've never been to any other Di Maggios, and I'm keen to try another to see if it can change my opinion on the company. I've been in this restaurant a few times when I was younger so I don't remember it much, but my parents never liked it. But I went in about 6 months ago with my friend Maria and both of us were so disappointed with the service we received. Over the course of the evening we were served by about 13 different staff members so we didn't actually ever know who our waiter was. They managed to get both our starter and main course orders incorrect, but we weren't offered any sort of consolation such as free desserts or a free drink, which is normal in a restaurant when they make mistakes regarding orders. The only reason I'm not giving this place one star is because, when they get it correct, the food is actually not bad. They have a delivery service which I'd use because I do like the food and wouldn't have to put up with the bad service, but I'd never go in the restaurant again.

I had a discussion with the waiter about the nachos with him pointing out that the mince had chilli in it when I said I didn't like anything "nippy" so I went for the ribs. I was surprised he didn't mention these were a bit "nippy" but they were also lovely. Meat fell off the bones and my little face was awash with sauce. Friends had stuffed mushrooms and mozzerella cubes Had the steak and hot cheese philly ciabatta sandwich with chips and salad. Portion was large so took half home. Thoroughly enjoyed what I could eat. Unfortunately, one of my friend's had a problem with her salad with crispy bacon. We all just looked at it when the waiter put it down because the bacon looked as if it had not seen heat never mind being crispy. It was rectified immediately but how any chef/cook could put something that was not cooked out for a customer has obviously no pride in their work. Maybe he/she just didn't care. Who knows, we were not given an explanation. It kinda put us off so we skipped puds and left. I have eaten here a number of times but this time, well .... there was something not just quite right. It was fairly empty so maybe that was it. It will probably be a while before we return.

As another reviewer mentioned, this is part of a chain of restaurants but in no way does it feel that way. The manager seems to always be there (thin guy, glasses) and will always provide you with a welcome and pick the best table he can for you. The staff are well trained and friendly to chat to as well as quick to help you with your order. The restaurant has a nice classic American diner style feel to it and was refurbished a while back. The bar is well stocked with a selection of most drinks you can think of, though a few extra craft beers would be appreciated. Prices are unbeatable with lunch and pre-theater menus on offer and a very reasonable a la carte selection also. You could always turn your nose up to simple food like pizza, pasta, burger, steak etc but frankly, why would you when you simply want to be in a place you are made to feel comfortable and you're with good company.

The menu is very extensive and all tastes should be catered for. The food order is taken just when you're ready and the drinks come promptly. The food delivery is all at once as well. They have a childrens' room with Sony Play Stations and other forms of entertainment in it. It's actually not that easy getting your son back out when his meal has arrived and he can't wait to get back there once he's finished.. I didn't give it the five stars because, like a lot of italian food, there was a heavy stodgy element to it. The garlic bread starter is like a pizza and can fill you up too much, so don't eat it all if you order it.

This was an unexpected and particularly useful wee find, I have to say!…read moreRecently, I've decided to go "cruelty-free" to an extent, by only using cosmetics/other products which are from companies who don't test on animals. I'm not against testing on animals for medical purposes, but for makeup and things I just feel there's no need, basically. (I'm not vegan or anything either, I love bacon and cheese far too much for that, I'm afraid!) Usually when I book an appointment to get my hair done, I just go for something through 5pm as A) I'm a bit of a cheapskate when it comes to my hair and B) I never need anything particularly complicated done, just a cut and blow dry for me! However, upon realisation that hairdressers are prone to using products from L'Oréal and the like, I decided to try and find a cruelty-free-esque place that wouldn't break the bank. Having discovered that the Paul Mitchell range of professional hair products is cruelty-free, I checked out their website and used the Salon Locator to find G&S. There were a few places closer to me than Coatbridge, but I liked the website and Facebook page for here as the hair photos looked great and their customers really seemed to love them. A Cut & Blow Dry was also stated on the website as being £20, so I was well in. They have a salon in Holytown as well, but that's a bit further out from where I am. This place is nestled in a wee housing estate in Coatbridge, alongside a couple of other shops/takeaways etc. My appointment was at 9am on a Saturday so there was plenty of parking to be had right outside - but I was informed by staff that it gets seriously busy in there on Saturday afternoons! The salon itself is pretty much what you would expect - a typical hairdressers inside but very nicely decorated with lots of bright pink everywhere, very girly indeed! It's also pretty spacious which is great as some hair places can often feel a bit claustrophobic! I was taken straight away and got my hair done by Katie, who was great. They'd just switched the hot water on when I got there so when my hair was getting washed it was a bit less warm than I'd have liked, but she did make sure that I was ok with the temperature before I got my hair washed. Katie also made sure to only use Paul Mitchell products with me once I mentioned my cruelty-free thing (they also use Schwarzkopf products but hey, nobody's perfect!) which I really appreciated, and she recommended a root booster from them when I said that my hair is usually pretty fine and flat. I found all the staff members to be really friendly and easy to talk to, which is good when you're going to be somewhere for 45 minutes, or much longer if you get more interesting things done with your hair. My haircut was actually £22 instead of £20 (although I didn't challenge it, to be fair) but I still think it was well worth it! I was really pleased with my hair and I felt that my stylist really knew her stuff, so I can definitely see myself coming back here!

I wasn't entirely impressed by the quality of the coal they were supplying me with and in the end started phoning around for quotes. I phoned their office to see if I could get a bulk order discount, initially they quoted me a price for half a ton when I had asked about a ton, when I queried the price (it was half that of their closest rival), they corrected the price quoting me £11.50 a sack, more than I was already paying them. Needless to say they don't supply me anymore. It's a shame, because I got on quite well with the chap who was in charge of the run.

The people who are supposed to deliver Rapid Link Erith Kent, do not deliver when they say. I spent 2 days waiting in. They claimed they phoned, yet my phone recorded no call. I was misinformed over the phone several times. The call centre who takes your order promise phone calls, and email's which never materialise. Rapid Link guy (name withheld), was extremely rude. I tried explaining, I was terminally ill so could only have delivery on certain days due to receiving hospital treatments. He had no empathy, he was extremely rude to me, so much that I was very upset. Phoned Ferguson 6 times and had to repeat every time even though talking is difficult. Asked for the £415 refund were to send an email to confirm still none so far. Was told they would get a customer service person to call, told them it must be email (due to illness). No one has contacted me. It is like talking to 'robots' who are not customer focused. Even though I will pay £60 more I am returning to a family firm I can rely on. More customers need to walk away from business's who obviously do not care. If they do not refund my money Mastercard will retrieve it on my behalf. Disgusted.
