I have used many heating and plumbing companies over the years but can honestly say that this company is the worst ever... The engineer has been to this property on numerous occasions (this engineer has been great) and carried out minor works, however on this occasion they had quoted around £1,500 to flush the radiators etc but an hour in once they had partially drained the system the 'Gas Safe' engineer (who has never been to this house) condemned the boiler and refused to do any work and said that we require a new boiler and flue of which would cost thousands (the old system has been planned to be ripped out in the next 3 months for a new bio-mass system) which would result in my family not having hot water nor heating until the new system went in... I'm only asking for a company to be totally truthful when they price a job and not to start ripping people off. When the engineers refused to switch the system back on and the directors of Jack Watson Plumbing where not taking my calls, I had no option but to block the two engineers vehicles in my driveway until they switched it back on (to the original state). Within 10 minutes of doing this the director "Linda Janet Thorburn" confirmed that she would be over within 30-60 minutes. On her arrival she tried to defend the reasons on why the heating system was condemned by saying that the job had been priced over the phone - I explained to her that this was untrue as the engineer was the one who recommended for the works to be carried out, she then said that the engineer was a plumber and not a 'Gas Safe' registered employee and the 'Gas Safe' engineer who condemned the work only noticed the problem 1 hour later of doing the job and didn't originally price the job as he was on holiday that week but I also highlighted that Jack Watson Plumbers had been contracted by the selling agent (prior to our purchase) to drain the system of which they did but they also placed business cards and a letter to the new owners on the boiler saying that they have looked after the house whiles on the market and to contact them if we had any problems. I'm more than happy to provide my contact details to any person who wishes to use this company but more importantly love to see the comments back from the director as I told Linda that I was going to do this and she said 'go ahead'. read more
