Currently Dopapen Coffee is in their soft opening phase. I stopped by Dopapen Coffee on a Thursday afternoon to grab a coffee. The vibes of the place were relaxing and chill. There were a few customers but it was nice to be able to sit down and relax for a bit. I opted to grab an espresso tonic which was made at a reasonable time. Coffee tasted good. It was also nice to browse their coffees on sale as well. Service was friendly too. Overall, a great new neighbourhood cafe that's somewhat hidden from the main streets. We sat there waiting for someone to greet us or to receive menus... Nothing for over 10+ minutes. We've seen new people come in and they got menu, water and bread pretty fast.. We were starting to wonder is it because we're not Greek or something to not get any attention... Then, our server informed us that he'll be with us but he was quite busy, so we understood... Poor guy didn't have the support staff to help him accordingly... Eventually, we got some water, we got menu's and we got some bread, so we ordered the following... Fried Calamari- $26+ - They have grilled or fried option, and really, can't go wrong with either one, but we got the fried version and it tasted quite good and fresh... It came with a small little cup sauce of tsitsiki. My partner got the pan fried cod fish with cold potato mash.. I believe its $30+... The fried cod fish tasted like salted fish in a sense, but a bit dry for our liking... They mentioned their seafood is fresh every two days or so, but we can tell the difference between the calamari freshness versus the octopus...
