    Cream brûlée? It was tasty
    Patricia J.

Really hit the spot. This place will be our new staple. Eggplant parm sandwich rocked my world and while huge did not leave me feeling heavy and bloated. Believe it or not it tasted light, the bread was airy and everything so fresh and well seasoned. My husband loved the veal and the donut was as fresh as they come ! Huge inside and also have a separate section where you can do light groceries for imported goods. I noticed a wood burning pizza oven where you can order a variety of pies! Nice little spot and can't wait to return.

Great place to pickup Italian desserts, pastries, pizza, lasagna, pasta, entrées, and fresh bread. Their hot table is worth the visit.

Nothing fancy here but good classic food. I stopped here for a Hot table lunch. Grabbed myself a chicken sandwich with all the fixins and a slice of pizza just to try out how good there slices. I would definitely stop here again for a quick bite. Nothing fancy but great food.

If you have been to the Calabria Bakery up in Markham... the one in Scarborough location will be a big disappointment! The interior is really dated and old... with cheap cafeteria settings. But this place is runned by the first generation of the Italian family and the one up at Markham is by their offsprings. The coffee here is A-OK for $3 and served in a proper glassware... but the cookies or pastries in the display case are limited in selections and not too appealing. But for the pasta and other Italian hot food they served does have a home cooking feel to it.. just like what your Italian mama will have feed you with the high carb comfort food! I would not go out of the way to come here, and I do prefer the Markham location a lot more!

I haven't been here for at least 10 years. This place had a wood-fired stone oven for baking Pizza pies. Well, it's still here!! The downside is the oven is only fired up for lunch on Thursday's and Friday's so I had to settle for something else. My take-out dinner was a $7.50 Veal Sandwich on a round Kaiser bun with peppers, onions, mushrooms and extra sauce. I added a $2.50 Arancini which is a rice mixture rolled into a ball with mozzarella, sauce and peas in the centre and then coated with bread crumbs before frying. How can anyone go to an Italian bakery without buying a Brio soda and a $3.50 decadent dessert? Not me! It's my reward for returning home after a long absence. Total bill was $17.45 which was reasonable for my evening treat tonight. If I had the time, I would have stayed and ate my delicious meal in their large seating area. I will return for my Pizza Pie!!

Calabria in the background, and a deluxe in front. Both great. The wood oven makes the thin crust extra crisp

This place is awesome for the price! I love their wood fired pizza on Thursdays and Fridays. The Calabria, with its spicy kick and salty pancetta, is quite tasty. You can order stuff that's not on the list too, like a Meat Lovers pizza. My tip is to call in advance so they can get it going before you come in... It tends to get quite busy as everyone loves their pizzas. They've also got a good selection of savoury stuff like pasta (which changes often), roasted vegetables, different proteins (I saw roasted rabbit, sausages, deep fried fish, veal, etc) and desserts like the classic tiramisu. For the price, it's unbeatable!

I've been coming here for lunch with my coworkers and we all love it! Pros: - Service: Service is fast and the people who work there are very friendly. If you don't like a certain topping or only want a little, they always do it for you which is very kind - Food: The wood oven pizzas are made fresh to order on Thursdays & Friday's which is great. (Get the Calabria pizza) - Price: Very affordable pricing for the food you get. It's like getting a home cooked meal - Parking: Tons of parking in the lot. Cons: - Decor: I personally don't love the decor, wish it was renovated to have a new look Get the Calabria pizza! You won't regret it, so good!

This place only has a 3 star rating?!?! I came here because my coworkers were telling me how tasty their pizzas are. I paid $9 for a pepperoni and cheese pizza fired in a wood fire oven, which is a decent deal to me. It is a pretty decent size so i could only eat half. The crust is not quite as thin as mama's pizza, but i love how the pizza is made fresh to order. They only use the wood fire oven on Thursdays and Fridays so plan your trip here accordingly!

Excellent wood stove Pizza and sandwiches. Service is excellent . The only reason for 3 stars is the rude waitress , always sulking .

Not exaggerating when I say this was a game changer. Naked Mozzarella (with fig jam on the side): Always a favorite. I introduce everyone to this dish and they fall in love every time. Perfect way to start the meal. Moscato Frizzante: Sweet but not too sweet, paired beautifully with the chicken parm. Pistachio & Cream Martini (holiday feature): I hope y'all grabbed it before they discontinued it Jan 4th. It's delicious - I recommend saving it for dessert rather than having it before your meal. The Service: Our server wasn't chatty but was incredibly efficient, patient, and attentive. She let us taste multiple wines before we settled on one, and when I asked her to refresh my martini (I'd let it sit while eating), she brought it back perfectly chilled. Made it easy to flag her down when needed. The host was transparent about wait times and got us a great booth. The Vibe: Rustic, bougie Italian home aesthetic - always love how they decorate. It's a very social setting and gets loud during dinner hours (bring loop earplugs if you're noise-sensitive). The energy was great - everyone seemed to be having a good time. Only "Disappointment": The water tasted off. That's it. Everything else was excellent. Would absolutely return!

For starters, the cashier/server greets you in a friendly, Italian way. Secondly, the food itself - it's amazing. I've had a few things - the omelettes, the lasagna and the Baretto panini. All of them excellent. And the service itself, also outstanding. You don't expect table service at a cafe, but Baretto has it anyway. After you've finished your meal, the waiter (who might also be the owner, I'm not sure) asks how everything was. You get the sense that it's not just for politeness, but he really wants to know. All in all, Baretto Caffe is a consistent, pleasant, delicious experience through and through.

Expectation wise? Don't expect Michelin star chefs or fancy interiors. It's a very humble setup in a non-traditional office building with staff who go the extra mile to assist customers. My pasta was made on the spot by the same person who took my order and made my espresso. He was a very honest, hard worker who served customers while making the food and drinks from scratch. I watched him meticulously cleaning all the cooking equipment, espresso machine, countertops, surfaces, and cleaning the floors after serving his customers. I was very impressed by his work ethic and dedication. I tried the penne pasta with mushroom and sausage topped with Alfredo sauce. It came with garlic bread and salad. Their number one ordered meal. So good! The penne pasta with rossa sauce (rose sauce) came with chicken and mushrooms. I prefer the Alfredo sauce as it was rich creamy and delicious. However what made my experience a good one was the hospitality and attentiveness of the staff. In today's fast food world, good service warrants a higher star rating!

The lemon rosemary drink was refreshing and a great earthy and sour taste. The Bomba Mozzarella was so delicious, mozzarella is my favourite cheese and it was so nice to eat it freshly made with some spicy peppers and bacon ragu. The focaccia was perfectly toasted to pair with. I love a good kale salad and the Toscana kale salad did not disappoint. I will admit it is kind of hard to pierce the kale with the fork to eat, probably easier just to scoop it up. The chicken and gnocchi was good, although the chicken was a little more charred and tough than I would've liked. Gnocchi was delicious though in the cream Alfredo sauce. Overall, great meal and service. Would definitely come back again. Great spot to come with friends and groups and just share a bunch of food.

The hostess accommodated our request for a booth, cleaned and prepped the empty seat for us. This place is decently big, lots of seats, bar and dining area is available. Pretty busy over the weekend during dinner rush. Service is prompt, fast and Jackie was very kind to explain the menu and what they recommend. We got spaghetti and meatballs, steak and mozzarella. I would say everything was as good as I expected them to be except for the meatball. It was too dense inside and not the usual signature meatball I know scaddabush offers. Would certainly not order that again. The spritz cocktail gin had too much cucumber and water taste to it, not much alcohol. Otherwise I would come here again perhaps try their happy hour as well.
