I found my hair stylist Mary on Style Seat a little over a year ago and I have been coming to Reggie's Place ever since. Mary is awesome but that's for a different review. Originally when I started coming to Reggie's Place Salon it was a Salon and barber shop. Admittedly, I wasn't to keen on the idea of sitting across from gentlemen getting shape ups and haircuts while I sat vulnerably across in the Salon chair with my hair a mess. However, I got over it as I was desperate for a new beautician in the Indy area. The owner has since opened up a separate barbershop in the same strip. The establishment is well put together. All the employees are kind and courteous and willing to help or answer questions. There is a relaxed vibe to place and I believe the art work that adorns the walls might even be done by the owner which is a nice touch. I have walked in today to see if there was any possibility of a hair wash and a hair trim. My friend referred the guy who owns the store does a better job compared to the rest. Where in reality that wasn't the case, i went for a hair trim and he cut my hair more than 5-6inches, saying what will i do with my hair, how on earth is his problem how long do i wanna leave my hair. He was asking if i had any friends in town, where do i live, where do i work, how old was i, i ddnt take any of this on a serious note, thinking it was a casual conversation. Then he made me stand to cut my front hair and he constantly touched me in appropriately in the front while haircut. I kept telling myself it could have been by mistake or not intentionally and then he says am just charging you for the haircut and asks me to call him and come at a time where he is not busy. What on earth does this man think of himself and others? Worst part is his wife works in the same place and still shamelessly tries to pursue his clients this way. He needs to understand that women dont go to his salon looking at how handsome he is, so he should act decent. Such horrible experience. I wouldn't suggest anyone who is going there for the first time. Absolutely no work ethics, no hygiene, no common sense and they dont know how to cut hair. Lack of professionalism, no strict social distancing guidelines enforced except for a sign taped behind the coat rack. No respect for clients' time. I would not recommend this business for anyone who values their time. read more

Guys..don't go here unless u want a bald head...literally. The star for the decor..not the service. The barbers are unskilled. Seems like the owner hired a batch of old drunks..hood guys..etc. I stop here with a friend and thought about getting a fade...changed my mind quick. The guys working didn't seem to know what they were doing or were 'professional looking' One guy nails we're dirty..looking like he just finished working on a car... rushing through another Customers' haircut because he worried about money and how many haircuts he can rush to do in 2hrs..lbvs. He didn't prep the guy right and I never seen a barber use.. just clippers to cut hair. Now the women side of the shop..nice..they seem to show experience..and care with the clients. Guys...avoid this place. Barbers aren't properly trained. A friend of mine got a cut here and the guy messed his head up. Barbers claim to know what he wanted..but didn't turn out well. And get this..th3 guy still wanted to be paid..lol...classic. Seems the owner of this establishment not to concern with his business reputation. read more

Reggie's Place Gentleman's Salon is top of the line. Friendly staff, a great atmosphere and an even better haircut. Miss Robin did a fantastic job cutting my hair and did exactly what I wanted. I love the way my hair looks after leaving. Will definitely be going back on a regular basis. I highly recommend visiting them if you're in the downtown Indy area. read more

Reggie's Place Hair Salon And Gentlemen's Salon Beware!!!! Please don't assume a barber understands terminology. Please consult and make certain there is an understanding before they cut your hair. What the heck you need to do to get a good hair cut in Indianapolis. I swear I said just line my nape. Do Not cut above the occiptal area (lower nape) I WANT TO GROW MY HAIR INTO A BOB!!!!... very easy task. Just take a large tooth comb angle 45 degree at the lowest part of the nape. Achieved by angling downward 1/2 inch from hairline. If you followed my instructions you would not have to blend upward. Take it down ( means... Bring your comb down lower please. Not cut it closer. I do Not like a man's cut. I shouldn't have heard the sound of any clippers, just trimmers and scissors if needed. I said I like a more feminine look ( softened ) round napeline ... I believe the problem is when you sit most of the day waiting for client's, when one comes in you guys try to force a sale of a haircut. You can't do that. I will always tip a great service,but I don't ever intend to pay when someone deliberately decides to ignor my wishes as client. You actually changed the entire cut by doing what you did. The last time I was there the owner tore my hair up then charge $112.00 for a jacked up cut, bad relaxer job and the worst color I ever had. I thought maybe I could come and get a line up from a real Barber shop and maybe feel better about this place. However I see unfortunately that's not ever gonna happen. Wow does anyone know how to cut hair there??? If you really mean what you said and you're truly sorry for not listening, then do the honorable thing and refund my $25.00 to my credit card. please.
