This is basically my go-to plumber now. I've been in my home for about 10 years and had my first plumbing issue in the form of a leaking toilet tank. Reggie the Plumber came up in the top of my searches and nearly every post on Nextdoor mentioned Reggie the Plumber. I noticed the issue over the weekend and called on Monday and was a bit concerned they couldn't send anyone out until Thursday, but it was fine. (I'm not sure if the time frame varies depending on how significant the issue.) I took it as a sign that maybe they had high demand because service was so good. Nothing was flooding and it was a slow drip so I put a bucket under the drip. They came out on Thursday morning and probably from start to finish took the plumber about 30-45 minutes to identify the problem, replace all the parts in the toilet tank, and be on his way. Hmmm. Customer service: I believe that I was talking to Reggie, but I wasn't sure if it was a secretary or something. They respond really quickly, so that was comforting. I requested a quote, and they gave a quote on the lower end and higher end. The appointment was confirmed with a 12-2 range. That was fair. However, I ended up receiving a more specified time of 1pm later. That's the time I made sure to be home for the appointment. I received a text at around 10am asking if they could come earlier, but I responded saying I wasn't there. I raced in traffic to get home at 1pm for the appointment, and after 15 minutes after the confirmed time, I texted them asking if they were still coming. They told me that they went to another client since they couldn't come to me earlier and that they'd be there closer to 2. Very unprofessional. If you provide a range, and then send an actual time, don't try to rely on the range later because it's more convenient for you. If you do, at least inform the customer. Had I not had anything else to do, I wouldn't have cared, but I fit this appointment into my work schedule, so I was pretty perturbed. Since they were already late without notice, I couldn't trust that they'd make it at 2pm. I ended up telling them not to come and made an appointment with another company that has amazing reviews. Today I received a call from my neighbor across the street there a pipe or the water meter is gushing water in the front yard. He came on 24 hour notice to investigate and block, then the next week to break time and fix the issue. (It wasn't leaking after the first visit- my shower has 5 shower heads...). We recently had a few issues in a couple of our properties and Reggie the Plumber was recommended by our handy person and so I gave his company a call and we were not disappointed with the results. In the first house, there was, what I thought was sewer leak or a loose toilet was seal, due to the stench that was coming from the toilet. One of Reggie's guys came over and he was thorough in checking things out and changed the wax seal as I requested but he indicated that it might be critter that died in the crawl space ... and there really was no fix for it. Three weeks later, the stench was almost gone and of course they were right., The second house needed new plumbing fixtures (toilets, faucets etc ..) and they were able to come out do the work promptly, for less than half of the original quote we received from another vendor and they were able to install a toilet without destroying the carpeting around the toilet. Filed a claim with Choice Home Warranty June 2,2018 to replace the shower valve which is covered. CHW referred REGGIE THE SLEEZY PLUMBER to repair the job. Footman the contractor came out June 6,2018 called CHW and said it was a faulty cartridge valve that needed to be replaced which is not covered. Shower cartridge is still leaking so my husband called Reggie had dialogue and he made a commitment to come out to access the problem. He never came and sent the contractor Footman back here to access the problem. Footman called CHW and stated the shower valve needed to be replaced. This should have been resolved on the first call. My husband called Reggie to let him know about the shower valve that needed to be replaced so it was mutually agreed that he would send us a refund. I've filed an appeal with CHW they contacted Reggie he told them he would reimburse us however, he also stated he didn't want to come back and do the job because of a bad review that we gave him. He also lied to CHW and said my husband didn't want him back. I wouldn't recommend him to feed a dog. Now I'm back to square one and still with no shower since June 2,2018. Reggie's team has failed to do the simple things correctly, like installing a new garbage disposal. When we had our countertops redone and a new sink installed, we decided to replace our old garbage disposal. While he was plumbing the entire sink, we had Reggie install a new disposal. It was all good for a while but started leaking. They came back out, charged us normal rates as if it wasn't their shoddy work the first time that led to the leak, and now, less than a year later, it's leaking again. Amazing; My father is 80 years old and lives in Stone Mountain, I live in Washington DC. He told me his 40+ year old ductile iron pipe was leaking in the basement. I called Reggie the Plumber and they said they could come tmrw. Great! But I got a call back saying he could come the SAME DAY He removed the ductile iron and replaced it with schedule 40 PVC adding a clean out and properly cleaning the PVC before cementing with nice purple lines of cleaner. Came out to fix burst pipes after a cold snap. We kept the water off for a while, and as soon as we turned it back on, the pipes completely disconnected and sent water gushing all over my laundry room. Hired a different plumber to fix it, who told me the original plumber NEVER GLUED THE PIPES together so as soon as the water was on, kaboom! He knew I was in a bind in regards to needing a plumber. Monday came . Nothing . I sent him a couple of texts . Nothing . He then shared that his father was concerned about being able to do the job since hehad a funeral on Wednesday which I was aware of already per our conversation prior. He went on to say that his father verbalized that he wasn't certain whether or not he could actually do the job to his son .Not to me the potential customer but his son. I repeated myself multiple times saying that it was fine to please let me know one way or the other if he could do the job anytime during the week that I was in a severe bind. And that it was OK if he could not but just to please let me know. His son apologized again and said that he would let me know personally today. He did not . As a small business owner I want to always support other small business owners however when it comes to such lack of respect shown as Reggie the plumber did to us I would not recommend this company to anyone.
