Instead, I found a clean, efficient dim sum spot with surprisingly good food. The self-service concept worked really well. You order at the counter, pick up your own food, and there is no tipping. I actually like this system because at traditional dim sum restaurants you often spend more time waiting for carts or servers than eating. One thing that really impressed me was the cleanliness. The restaurant isn't newly renovated, but it's well maintained. After each table left, the staff cleaned with fresh sanitizing wipes instead of using the same cloth over and over. They also serve everything with disposable plates and utensils, which personally gives me more confidence than reusable tableware that isn't always cleaned thoroughly. The food was consistently good. The lotus leaf sticky rice was fragrant, the rice noodle roll with fried dough had a great texture, and the Teochew dumplings were generously filled. The standout dish was the stuffed trio. The shrimp paste was fresh and springy, the fried tofu was crispy, and getting eggplant, tofu, and green pepper on one plate made it easy to try a little of everything.

It's always solid. Prices have gone up a little bit, but it's the same all around everywhere. Still…read moregood bang for your buck. Assorted dim sum all hits the spot. The roast pork over rice with Chinese broccoli was a bit too fatty for my preference. Flavor was spot on, but I prefer less fat on my roast pork. Everything else is always on point.

It was fun watching the carts go by and choosing what looked good. We also asked for specific items off the dim sum menu and they would find it (or make it) and bring it out. There was a 2nd menu with other dishes that could be prepared on request. We enjoyed the Hong Kong fried lobster, which was chopped into manageable pieces. We had a bunch of different dumplings, steamed buns, rice rolls, little fried fish, saucy clams, meat filled pastries, chinese broccoli, sesame balls, surprisingly chunky mango pudding, and more. The variety was good and it was a fun experience to try a bunch of things. The individual items were still fairly large and some could be cut and shared. It is BYOB, so we had brought some prosecco to celebrate some birthdays. We took some leftovers home, and also ordered a few items to-go.

Some of the most delicious Chinese food we've ever had! We found this restaurant on TikTok, and…read moresince it was so close, we immediately got up and went to try it. We were seated right away, even though it was BUSY! The service was excellent, the staff consistently checked in on us and kept our waters refilled. We've already been three times in the past month. I live near the restaurant and for the life of me, I couldn't figure out where this place was. Then my wife reminded me that we've been here like 6 times in the past 3 years; way before the recent hype. I just never knew the name of the restaurant So YES, the Soup Dumplings are good, but just don't come for that. They have a large menu, with lots of Chinese food, that shouldn't be skipped. This visit we started with a Cucumber Salad, and then 1 order of Soup Dumplings, Beef & Scallion Pancake, and Mapo Tofu. This may be a broad statement, and vague, but most everything here is good. However, the Mapo Tofu was probably the worst we ever had. Strange looking, and we felt cornstarch was added to thicken up the brown gush. The White Rice that came with it was not so great either. As for the long lines...they have a waitlist where you put your name down . But they do a great job of turning covers. Honestly, I don't think we've ever waited more than 15 minutes for a table. Big shout out loud to the girl who was constantly re-filling our water glass.

My go-to answer when people ask for my favorite dim sum spot in NYC!…read more My family has been loyal to East Harbor (迎賓) near 8 Av Brooklyn since it first opened, back when my nephew was still a newborn, and he's going to college this year LOL. They even serve fresh tofu pudding (豆腐花) and ridiculously good fried black sesame balls (黑芝麻煎堆). These are two things I always look forward to whenever we come here. We've tried almost everything on their dim sum and à la carte menu, and the quality has been consistently good over the years. I just noticed they're actually listed in the Michelin guide. The wait can be over an hour on weekends, so I'd recommend getting here before 10:30am if you want to grab a table before the crowds roll in. My top picks: - Char Siu Pie 叉燒酥 - Deep Fried Meat Dumpling 鹹水角 - Char Siu Rice Roll 叉燒腸粉 - Fried Black Sesame Balls 黑芝麻煎堆 - Black Sesame Balls 雷沙湯圓 - Tofu Pudding 豆腐花 Other favorites: - Veggie Pork Bun 菜肉包 - Abalone Siu Mai 鮑魚燒賣 - Shrimp Dumpling 蝦餃 - Peking Style Pork Chop 京都骨 - Pan Fried Water Chestnut Cake 煎馬蹄糕 - Egg Tart 蛋撻

But then they lose the suggestive sell, the impulse purchases, etc. Anyway, Brooklyn Chinatown was just okay, but since we were here, we decided to eat. Hard to beat NY and SF Chinatowns. Pictured menu, thank you. Got some fairly standard Dim Sum, see pictures. Similar quality as the west coast. Abalone Sui Mai was the only different thing we tried from the west coast, not bad. Tea is $1.50 per person. Ambiance - A good size restaurant. Busy. Private rooms available. Of course, you can also rent out the entire restaurant for banquets. Open 7 days a week from 9am to 10pm. Service - Good. The cart team is fairly aggressive at suggestive selling. Price - $31 + generous tip. Owner Comment - Congrats on all your success since 2009.

This leveled up my expectations on scallion pancakes omg they were so thin and crispy delicious!!! Definitely great service Im guessing it's the owner she had your order ready to go I work in pompton plains so I'll order right before I leave work and by the time I get to Parsippany the order is ready! I definitely want to go and dine in but I'm always in the Parsippany area after work But take out is a good enough for me. From just walking in the restaurant is so clean and organized. They have a video explaining the process of hand pulled noodles which is cool! I'm a nerd like that I love educational videos. Also you see where the chef is making everything too like a window to see when he makes the hand pulled noodles. Definitely recommend this place ! Ample parking and very easy to get too. If you want a nice comforting bowl of soup with hand pulled fresh noodles this is your place!!! Enjoy!!!! Note I put 2 pictures of my 1st order with them Stir fried noodles and braised beef hand pulled noodles soup yummy

My food was waiting for me, which I was happy about. I ordered scallion pancakes as an appetizer and sauteed noodles with chicken and vegetables as my entree. The food tasted great; however, for takeout packaging, my sauce for the pancakes was not secure, so it spilled in my bag. Other than that, the noodles tasted really good (just needed a sprinkle of salt/soy sauce), and I enjoyed my meal. I will order from there again.

The menu is both in English and Chinese, with some items put in the spotlight with pictures They have lots and lots of food items, with lunch signal combos, noodle soups, rice plates, dumplings, buns, appetizers, cold dishes, entrees, desserts I personally went for pan fried pork buns, dumpling samplers (a set of 8, with 2 of kimchi, 2 of vegetables, 2 of chicken, and 2 of a mix of chicken+pork+shrimp), simmered abalone rice (with a soy sauce boiled egg, and bok choy - Chinese cabbage), along with coconut water As a dessert, I had mini eight treasure steamed glutinous rice, along with Wang Lao Ji (AKA Wong Lo Kat), which I took to go as I was already full but still wanted to try these appealing items Having lived in China for several months, I was happy to find such a quality Chinese restaurant & people, and I hence recommend it indeed

I came here on a sunday for the dim sum abd it was quiet, but if you place an order in it comes out fresh. The shrimp rice rolls are soft and succulent, the shrimp being very large. Served with soy vinegar sauce. My favorite is the shrimp shumai, full of shrimp and no BS filler. The shrimp dumpling is my third favorite and the fried shrimp ball being my least. Ordered chinese broccoli on the side, very well done. And of course, we always have hot tea on standby pairs well to wash down all the salt.
