If I could give no stars I would but it won't let me. This motel is nasty, beds have bed bugs and the people that work there are rude

This trip we stayed 3 days and were surprised to learn housekeeping doesn't straighten the room during extended stays... no clean towels, made beds, trash emptied... not much competition in Altus and the reviews are no better for them. I guess though, it's time for us to give them a try.

The red decor curtains were short and an entire row of curtains were missing. The room I checked into was 210 and is located directly in front of the building, above the arch. This is the area where hotel guests are checking in/out and driving by so they are literally see into the room. I informed the desk clerk, told her that I could not stay in a room with no curtains and she said there was nothing she could do. I asked what options were available and was advised that maintenance refused to come back to the hotel. She also advised that housekeeping refused to come and no manager was available. I asked if I could move to another room. I was told that no other rooms were available. I ended up calling the IHG Corporate office several times to resolve the issue. After several hours passed and increased frustration, they ended up moving me a couple of doors down to the same type of room I booked. It makes me wonder why they didn't just do that in the first place & told me there was nothing they could do, like I had to just deal with it. An extremely upsetting situation all around, especially after driving from another state for a special occasion. The local staff did not offer an apology or discount. Hotels are responsible for providing safety and security for the guest that pay money to stay there. It's basic. When you pay $761.33 for three nights, you expect the bare minimum. If I could give it a zero, I would. I strongly recommend NOT staying here.

I was sent here when there were no rooms on base--had never heard of Microtel and was happy to find…read moreout they were in the Wyndham rewards chain of hotels--the only truly redeeming value of this place. Lobby is plain, but smells clean and the staff is very cheery. Rooms are pretty plain, with fixtures that are euro-styled and all built together. One large mirror makes up the back of the room, and the beds are pretty plain and slighly uncomfortable for their sparseness. Fridge available (with small freezer area too small to hold a Healthy Choice meal box), as is microwave and PLENTY of desk-top space as it's all built together with wardrobe cabinet and TV stand. Bathroom is plain and sparse. I found the linens to be threadbare and sometimes dirty. On one morning after washing my face, I grabbed a washcloth to dry my face and noticed a smear of blood on it. Normally, not a problem since I do nick my face every now and then while shaving--except this was supposed to be a clean cloth straight off the rack. That was enough for me--ready to go. Breakfast is spare, with cereal, yogurt, microwave yourself sausage sandwiches and waffles. On the plus side, they do offer you a subway coupon every day good for a 7-inch sub. Free wi-fi is available, but its not only slow but cuts off all the time. $70 military rate is good price, but only $7 more gets you a much nicer stay down the road at the Hampton Inn.

The beds were ok, the covers were slightly dingy and thin, so that was questionable. We had to ask for a second cover because we needed those would not keep us warm. The TV didn't work so I had to go downstairs to get assistance. The clerk acted all put out and had to call another coworker to help us. We paid $200 for this room, which was NOT worth that at all! Went downstairs to get coffee the next morning and the breakfast area was a mess!! Spilled coffee everywhere, crumbs all over the place, pretty gross. Needless to say, we did not eat anything. If you see this hotel, just keep on going.

To quote Bette Davis, "What a dump!"…read more Hands-down the most disgusting place I've ever stayed. I only booked here because the reviews were so good! Now I have my suspicions as to who wrote those reviews. Stay anywhere else! What did work: the AC, microwave, fridge, tv, toilet. The mattress was inexcusable. Extremely thin, visibly sagging, and lumpy. The worst I've ever slept on. I developed back pain which is still present. The room was damp-ish with a slight musty odor - although it didn't rain all week. Things started to melt, like cough drops still in their packaging. The front door lock stopped working while I was there. The back door stands away from the doorframe so the locks kinda barely reach into the doorframe. It looked like it could be easily kicked in. They came in to spray for bugs WHLE WE WERE THERE in the rooms! Never experienced that before. They justified it by saying they did it every month. They said we would't be able to smell it, but my friend was choked out of her room and had to go outside. The AC and bathroom fan were very loud. WiFi very weak and constantly went out. Went in and out while waiting for websites to come up - numerous times in a minute or two. Every other time I came in and tried to use it, I was "connected" but "no wifi." Had to call desk numerous times for it. The shower head seemed about 20 years old and so full or lime or build-up of something that the water shot out in weird directions and lots of the holes were plugged up so no water came out. Shower heads run under $30 ... IT WAS VERY DIRTY! This was built-up, worn in dirt beyond the typical duties of housekeeping. How much does a gallon of paint cost? A half-gallon of bleach? Some scrub brushes? I'll let the photos speak for themselves. This place left me feelng dirty and gross. I did not ask for a different room because they were full, and because i didn't want one that might turn out even worse. I booked a few months ahead so if they had a better room, they could've given it to me. Instead, I got this absolutely disgusting dump. Before I'm blamed for this filth - housekeeping only changed sheets, vacuumed, exchanged towels, emptied trash, and wiped available surfaces - just exactly as you would expect. I avoided using them when I didn't need them. No, I did not render these other surfaces filthy. I didn't TOUCH any surfaces. Gross gross gross

Their resolution was a piece of paper on the door that told us to get extra blankets at the front desk. Also, no discount for the inconvenience. ANY other hotel would have either notified us before we arrived and/or offered a discount. Typical Air Force... you're better off staying off base even though it's a little more expensive. The people at the front desk hate their lives, service is terrible and the door keys have a mind of their own. The only reason this place exists is because it's the Air Force and they have a monopoly on TDY travelers. Absolute joke... The room was at least decent..

Also, it is convenient to the little that Altus AFB has to offer. 2 pluses Unfortunately, the place itself is pretty sad. Despite being accompanied they would not give me a TLF. If you have the option get a crash pad. The VOQ rooms are not suitable for more than one person. We had to make it work because of the convenience and only having one car. It is subsidized by the AF and is run like it. People are required to stay there so they know they will have a constant stream of occupancy. It seems they have little motivation to run a quality hotel. The rooms really need updating. The disposal in our sink was so old that the rusted blade broke off in my hand as I was trying to clear the drain. It took 4 calls over the span of 2 weeks for someone to finally attend to it. When they did come they removed the disposal and replaced it with a non-disposal drain. Cheap solution that downgraded the quality of the room as we had to constantly clear the clogged drains. Kitchens are minuscule and sinks are half the size of a normal sink. The faucet is actually longer than the sink so if you're not careful you can run water all over the counter, or floor. This isn't likely to make a difference as far as improvement but if you are coming to Altus and have the option to stay elsewhere, I would.
