I'm a new home owner and was completely new to landscaping work required for front and backyard. I…read morehired Blue Ox for grinding a small stump in my front yard, and the work they did was quick and clean. This included the prompt visit by Kim to inspect the stump to quickly asses the work and quote in my mail. I wish more business owners had the same attitude and passion in the work they did. This is not something I gauged based on the work they did on the stump, but the additional discussion I had on a quote for tree removal. I have three tree's in my back yard, and where most business owners would've tried to convince me to get rid of as many trees to further their business cause, Kim took the time to educate me about the tree which would most sense to remove. Only when Kim pointed at the visible pruning marks on the tree did I realize that the other two trees were taken care off and that I would only need to prune them in another two or three years. We ended up deciding to remove one tree that is too small to prune as it would end up looking like a tree with no branches and smaller than the other two trees hence does not provide any shade. Apart from this, she told me about my front yard grass that should spring up once temperatures steadily get into the 50's. This was eye opening, because other landscapers told me the grass was dead and I need to thatch it completely. The type of grass I have just looks dead during winter but blooms in spring. Even if I give the benefit of doubt to other landscapers who told me my front yard grass was dead because they might not be knowledgeable, I would count this in favor of Kim because she saved me from undertaking a work that I didn't need to.

However I was recommended by an architect that I have a great deal of respect for to call Doreen Tuman AKA The Closet Lady to suggest unique ways we could ad storage. {2 small closets} We ended up after a 3 hour meeting, throwing every idea we had out.......She built for us in Veneer wood a MurphyBed, cabinets, a working desk with storage. Doreen created a 2 bedroom large dinning room out of our 750 sq ft studio. She took 2 small, tiny is a better word closets and "somehow" the inventory of our clothes she was working with and which we thought we would need to split up and store half of, she made it all fit. And the closets are gorgeous. My favorite part of the apartment and the first thing I show off to visiters. best part of everything, she designed built and installed at a reasonable price. Thank you Dorren, I promised I would write you a letter, and good luck with your involvement with HGTV.

This place is terrible. While the prices are extremely competitive, you are getting what you pay…read morefor. The wood they sell comes from inferior mills and is generally poorly manufactured. The width on hardwood flooring isn't consistent. Neither is the tongue and groove alignment. The wood is not planed as correctly as it should be either resulting in a much more uneven floor once installed requiring significant sanding to achieve the expected results. I speak from 20,000 sqft of various sized flooring I have purchased and installed from BK Floors. If you don't care and want the cheapest price, they will fill your appetite. If you don't want a crappy floor that will possibly buckle, bow and warp, which may be too uneven to realistically sand out, be forewarned and go elsewhere. 3000-5000 sqft of what I purchased hasn't had significant issues... yet, so 75% of several different batches of wood has warped. I bought wood from other suppliers as well which was installed in the same buildings and is still intact so it isn't external nor installer issues related to the issues. Good luck and hopefully my review saves you my experience because I didn't want a warped floor in exchange for paying a few pennies less per square foot.
