Regal Waugh Chapel overall is a solid theater. The biggest thing for me is convenience. It's right in the area, easy to get to, and makes it simple to plan a quick movie night without overthinking it. The seating is comfortable, especially with the recliners. It makes a big difference being able to sit back and actually relax during the movie instead of feeling cramped. The theater itself is clean and well kept. Not perfect, but good enough where it doesn't take away from the experience. Sound and picture quality are solid. You're getting what you expect for a modern theater. Concessions are what you'd expect. A little pricey, but that's pretty standard everywhere. Good variety though if you want snacks or drinks. Staff is fine. They keep things moving and help when needed, but it's mostly a self guided experience. Only thing to keep in mind is it can get busy during peak times or when big movies drop, so timing helps. It's not a bad movie theater, it just has an aged vibe. Think early 2000s. It's very clean and I love how alive their concession stand and arcade are. As an avid movie watcher, I've grown quite accustomed to reclining seats and they don't have that so it's a ding for me. We love the older movie line-ups and the theater is in a good location. The staff though....rarely pleasant, cold and, for lack of a better term, weird. We have been to a lot of movies at this location. It definitely needs an upgrade but really needs to train on people skills. We keep getting ice in our drinks when we requested none. We also asked for caramel popcorn and were told there wasn't enough. Then I watched as the employee partially filled my drink with the wrong soda then realized it was incorrect. Instead of pouring it out, he proceeded to fill the rest with what I wanted. But it got worse. Before we walked away from the counter they began filling the bins with more caramel popcorn. It kills me that we ask for something and the staff looks at us like we're an annoyance. Unacceptable. If we lived closer to another Regal I wouldn't hesitate to never return. read more

I'm used to the old fashioned theater experience since I go so rarely -- I notice folks don't love the fact that the seats don't recline, but I don't personally mind. I do find them quite cozy either way! It is so dark though that I can't tell her clean they are as I sink into them -- I just hope for the best lol. I usually get there in time to skip most of the previews and I don't do theater snacks. My biggest concern is the audio and it's pretty solid there. The theater itself was fine, besides the seats not reclining, but the customer service was lacking. We purchased tickets online and arrived before the movie started, but there was nobody checking tickets. I had to walk around and ask someone if they were checking tickets. He scanned mine and quickly told me which theater. I only had one ticket on my phone, and my bf had his ticket on his phone. It was never checked at all. It almost seemed like me going to find an employee was a bother. Probably won't return to this theater. read more

Firstly Shelton was amazing. He is one of the associate managers and deserves a promotion. I purchased our tickets as a group through the business office. They were not hosting parties due to the post thanksgiving weekend and the multiple movies coming out, which I totally understood. Although I have never had a problem with Regal Waugh Chapel in the past, on Monday, March 9th I did. My sister, aunt and I went to go see the movie, I Can Only Imagine 2, at the 1:00 pm showing. Initially, there were colored lines on the big screen, so I notified the individual at concessions that there was a problem. Then about 10 minutes later, we were told by another gentleman that the previews would start at 1:15 and the movie at 1:30. Unfortunately, this did not happen. At 2 pm, a third gentleman came to us and said that we would have to switch to another room to see the movie. He apologized and said that we could get food on the house, but we had already gotten food prior to the 1 pm showing. I didn't think it was appropriate to have to wait an hour to see the movie. At the very least, for the inconvenience, we should have been refunded half of the price of our tickets. I don't understand who is managing at this establishment during the week, but it wasn't good. read more

Went to see MI The Final Reckoning in Theater #2. It was not only freezing in there, the left side of the screen was all distorted. Looking up at the projector's booth you could see water droplets on the glass. Probably because the Air Conditioner was on full blast. No wonder nobody goes to theaters anymore. The seats are a bit small as well and we are not big people. So for the cost of tickets, popcorn, and a soda, we'll skip the movie and wait to stream it at home from now on. It's just not worth going anymore. We told one of the staff on our way out, who knows if they'll do something. Addendum, tried to send a review to their own link and surprise, it doesn't work. This is a decent movie theater that's in a good location and is pretty clean. The seats aren't updated to recline like some movie theaters but it's not super tight either. The staff are ok. I only went to this theater cause they were offering IMAX. But this place needs a major upgrade in the seats sure they aren't MLB stadium type seats but they aren't anything close to what competitors are offering by a long shot. Plus it wasn't totally disgusting but wasn't that clean either and the clientele it attracts isn't the greatest either. Had a issue with seating. But after I finally got seated someone who sat in front of me was constantly on and off their phone on social media and other sites the whole movie. Which I must say was very distracting and annoying. Then once the movie was over they were completely rude and inconsiderate just leaving their trash behind. I don't think the slight drive I had to make was worth the amount of money I had to pay to watch the movie. read more

Horrible experience! I brought my 85 year old mother to see Hamilton tonight. She doesn't get out often. Some very rude, inconsiderate and ignorant girls thought they would rap every 3 words they sorta knew during the movie and ruin it for everyone else. I told the manager who was there and nothing was done about it. When I got home and tried to call, no answer. Regal Cinemas offer a free $10 Concession card with a purchase of a $50 gift card. I ordered the gc online but no $10 card on the receipt. Called Customer Service and it was if they had never heard of the offer. I will never buy a Regal Cinema gift card again. I was on the phone for 20 minutes, with no resolution. The guy said he would open a ticket on the issue. So I am giving up. Wish I hadn't bought the $50 card. Worst thing is this is the 2nd time that this has happened to me. I could see and hear what was happening on screen, but the screen in theatre 3 was very weird and I have been to other theaters. Either the screen or projector was cracked and there was a light glare across the center of the screen. It wasn't deal breaking, but it was very, very, noticeable. The only reason I am thinking this place one star is because the seats are not the recliner ones that I am used to. however this place is clean and not overly crowded in for Saturday night opening up the movie scream five this made me so happy. My family and I typically would frequent the theater that was at the Arundel mills mall. However since moving to the mainland we have noticed that particular theaters decline. What do you mean your seats don't recline?! We're in 2019 so I just assumed all movie theaters were hip and have reclining seats. Guess I was wrong! I mean if we're paying a lot of money to enjoy a movie, the seats should at least recline. Yesterday was my first time at this theater. I came to see Gemini Man with my friend who is very tall so he was very uncomfortable sitting in these seats. Before we went inside to get seated, they asked to search my bag. Just as the movie started - she was settling to fall asleep, another patron complained that she was in there- not making noise- just that she was too young to be there! My daughter and I lucked up on Discount Tuesday which I was unaware of as we played hookie to have a mommy/daughter day to see Puss and Boots. Buttered popcorn, candy and drinks in hand my 4 year old and I had the perfect playbook for a wonderful movie date but we couldn't enjoy the movie because it was colder in the theater than outside. My daughter and I stayed bundled but after an hour we were so cold that our noses and hands were freezing even with long sleeves, coats and scarves. I understand movie theaters are hurting right now due to the decrease in patrons in connection with the pandemic and online streaming services but don't they know if a person is comfy during a movie they may purchase another versus running off. With the Regal Rewards Card, you can earn movie tickets, upgrade popcorn and drink sizes as well as movie memorabilia. Came to Regal Waugh Chapel to see Deadpool 2. The theater was clean, not too cold like other theaters I've been to. The seats are comfortable. They do not recline all the way back but are roomy. 2 tixs were purchased online for $29 including the processing fee, were worth the money. $18 for medium soda, bottle of water and a size upgrade to medium popcorn. The water could have been cheaper but the medium soda was huge! The popcorn was fresh, and a good amount of butter. Deadpool 2 was hilarious! If you like DC or Marvel comics, it's a must see. read more

This movie theater supposedly has the stadium seating with reserved seats, but your still bunched together like in a redgular movie theater! I expected the reclining seats, but nope, they're just the normal seats with numbers for reservations. I don't like that! However the people that work there are friendfly and customs oriented and the theater is clean. I don't like how the butter for the popcorn is behind the counter either. It holds a lot up! Went to see a movie with the kiddos. It was our first time going to the movies since the pandemic. We went to one of the first showings of the day. We had ordered our tickets ahead of time, which allowed us to pick our seats. With three younger kids, this is a great option because we don't have to go early to assure a decent seat and then worry the kids will get antsy. The theater was empty when we arrived but filled in decently before the movie started. The theater our movie was showing in was small. The seats were spacious and comfy. The people working there were really kind and attentive. My only issue is that about half of the seats are so close that I wouldn't have wanted to watch a movie in them. You can obviously choose to not go if you don't like sitting that close, but it really leaves few seats that are comfortable to watch the film in. read more

Going to the movies these days is pretty transactional and automated. You buy the ticket online, you walk to the back and you sit down. For that reason, I am a fan of this theater. No hiccups with any tickets purchased online, via giftcard or via discount sites like spendsmart. However, it does need a bit of an upgrade, as noted by other Yelpers. Seats do not recline, and with the rise of luxury movie theaters (i.e., arclight, iPic, cineoplis), this has become an almost expected standard. I also hope they diversify their movie options. The last couple times we've been here have been subpar. Most recently, a group of young adults entered our movie with a about 15 minutes left. This theatre broke ADA law and turned away children with Special needs. A group of 100 campers from an adaptive summer camp had purchased tickets for the $1 matinee and alerted the theatre that they were a special needs group with a 3:1 camper/counselor ratio. Upon arrival, the camp was told the movie was oversold and they were denied entry. The director of the camp offered to purchase tickets to a full a full price movie at the theatre for the campers. The management refused sale and told the director that the campers would be too much of a Liability. Almost two weeks later and the theatre has yet to make a public statement or apology. Free tickets were offered to the campers to come back, but this offer was rejected by the head of Anne Arundel County Parks and Recs, and all other camps in the county pulled their scheduled trips from the theatre for the summer. Please consider another theater until Regal provides all staff with bias and sensitivity training. This is a very nice theater located in the outdoor shopping center of this area. I have actually been here three times now and felt it was time to give them the praise they deserve. First off it's very clean establishment. The lobby and theater areas are spotless.There isn't any left over snacks or residue from previous movie goers. It makes you feel as if you are the first to sit in the chairs. Nobody likes stepping or sitting on unknown sticky substances while your trying to watch a movie. The professionalism they provide from the snack personnel to ticket agents is top notch! They greet you warmly and answer any questions you may have and direct you promptly to where you need to be. They also provide order especially when big anticipated movies are playing. Having designated areas for those people to wait until their movie is available. Those who are watching regular movies are able to freely move about without being confused to where they need to be or how to maneuver through the crowds. I have been on both ends watching a highly anticipated movie and watching a movie that has been out for awhile. Both experience's where good. Comfort is a huge thing if your watching a 90+ minute movie. The chairs are awesome and comfortable. You can lean back lean lean back (Fat Joe plug lol) without worrying of someone kicking or knee knocking the back of your chair. This is an awesome place in a great location with plenty of options to dine before or after your movie. I'm actually going back today to check out Deadpool 2 courtesy of t-mobile $5 deal. Not only did the tickets cost more than the Bowtie Cinemas in Annapolis, but the seating is not upgraded in any way, and I was in a rated R movie with kids sitting behind me kicking my seat the whole time. Regardless why the children were in that movie, the spacing is so poorly smushed that I could feel every kick, every 10-15 minutes. It was horrible on the comfort factor. Which when you are sitting for 2-3 hours, is pretty epically important. We will never be coming to this theater again. Only gave 2 stars because the food stuffs were good. read more

The seats don't recline, which is a bummer, but not a deal breaker, but the staff is professional and friendly. The theater is always clean, and they have a efficient/effective method of getting customers to their seats. I like this theater because its clean and service is quick. It is complicated on busy nights to get good parking because it's in a popular shopping center. Also, I feel it is priced higher than other movie theaters in the area and it hasn't been updated with reclining seats. I'm pretty impressed with this theater. Granted, the box office only had one person working in the middle of the day on a busy Saturday, but other than that, it was easy peasy to purchase a ticket. Just in case you don't want to wait, automated ticket machines are inside as you enter. Plenty of show times are available, especially movies that are just released. A room is reserved for children that have birthday parties as well. Very clean, new feel, comfy rocking chairs, huge screens and an awesome sound system. I didn't realize the theater was as big as it is because it doesn't look that big from the outside. I can't speak on the concession stand because I never purchase anything to eat while at a movie theater, but it always seems to be long lines that move quickly. The parking lot usually looks packed, but I've never experienced a crowd inside. I see that most people are now bypassing the Regal theater in Bowie to come to this one. $55 for tickets, movie starts 30 minutes past the start time, 30 minutes of commercials, mediocre sound system pushed louder than it should be, and still charging $9 for a bottle of water. This might have been ok in 2011, but in 2021 there are options. I'll stay home and pay $19.99 for the same movie that's in the theater, with no commercials. This movie theater is well maintained and even though there is a younger clientele that frequent, they're civilized and don't disrupt the movie by acting like hellions. The price here can be a bit more than at some of your neighboring theaters but it's the perfect set up for date night. All within walking distance you'll find frozen yogurt, a petite candy shop, cell phone retailers and a host of many eateries that promote sidewalk dining. Plenty of options to choose from before or after your movie. Today, they were doing bag checks. With all the random acts of violence occurring at movie theaters around the country it's for our own protection. While viewing the movie, I did see a security person making his rounds to make sure there were no disturbances. No unpleasant carpet smells here and the exit signs are well lit and you'll even see the manager greeting patrons as he/she takes tickets directing you to your respective theater. I think there will always be a line at the concession so bring your patience. Sign up for a Regal card and show it when you purchase tickets or snacks to earn rewards. Unlike AMC this card is free to obtain. If your time allows, pick up your tickets early and go have a bite to eat. This will help you avoid long lines and support you being parked without rushing. Military discounts and matinee prices are offered but no "promo day" where all movies are one price. Maybe they'll reconsider it for implementation later.
