Laurels House Of Horror

Laurels House Of Horror

Laurel's House of Horror is great, if you're looking for a screamin' good time! The escape rooms…read moreare fun (horror/spooky themed), but the star of the show is their haunted house. We've gone annually for the past 4 years, and it is so much fun every time. The scare actors engage you from the moment you step in line. It's one cohesive, spooky experience. Each year, a few things change. It's our reliable scare date. Highly recommend!

I haven't been to a haunted house in a couple years so I was looking forward to getting a few…read moreHalloween activities in for the month. My friend and I got the instant access pass for an extra $25 and to be honest, it was worth every penny. With it being spooky month, we knew it would be jam packed. The line got general admission was ridiculous. The line to express access was better but still pretty long. Instant access allows you to skip the line and go straight to the entrance of the haunted house. The music was too loud to hear the instructions but I guess the gist is, don't run and don't touch the actors. I loved the design and themes of most rooms. Some left a little to be desired. I do wish there were a little more actors and better system of separating the parties. There were quite a few times we were able to see ahead so we knew what was coming. My favorite times were any moment where the actors interacted with the guests, like when we were chased. After the haunted house, you're able to buy merch and take photos. Although we didn't do the escape room, I liked that there was an option to do so this adding to the whole Halloween experience. All in all, I enjoyed my time at the House of Horror. While there could be some improvements with setup, I would still recommend it for others wanting to check out a local haunted house.

Food: bar food, fried, unhealthy but party worthy Lane quality: the one we were originally assigned to #15 was not working and moved to 13 Service: check in and shoe service was great, but the lady at the bar was a little harsh speaking, given it was our first time there, I wasn't aware that WE HAVE TO order all of our drinks through our waiter, so I went to the bar ordered two drink drinks and was harshly told I cannot add it to my tab , so I walked away & ...:-( ... about 20min later the drinks were brought over by our waiter ‍ Price: we paid about $100 for 5 ppl for 1 lane of 2 he with shoes, and over $100 for a mixed platter with 4 drinks, not bad for the bowling part, a bit pricey for the food and drinks. Will return & hope to receive a better servive from the bar side.

Lane broke 6 times--for my party of 6 people we did six frames in 1.5 hrs. Almost every other lane was in use and working. They never moved us to unused lanes even though I had to walk up to the counter every time. EVEN AN EMPLOYEE who wasn't on the clock and playing in a lane next to us tried to help. 2. Constantly played highly sexual hip hop music videos even though there were tons of kids. 3. We ordered food but after it never came, we asked for a refund, were given 3 free game vouchers each and then we left. Never finished the 1st game. I love bowling, last summer I came all the time with a season pass. Same management and employees after 6 months, but it's just not a good bowling alley. It's meant for parties and food. Obviously very disappointed, not wanting to go back, but need to use the free games vouchers to make it worth the money we spent.

Want to enjoy an evening of professional theatre? Bet you didn't know that you don't have to…read moretravel to DC, deal with the parking or metro mess or drop $50 plus to get it. Look no further than Venus Theatre - located in Laurel MD off of Main Street. At Venus, Deb Randall, the artistic director, produces quality cutting-edge shows with professional actors and actresses. Deb is crazy creative and intelligent; you might like the "out of the box" way that she directs the plays. I saw Homokay's Medea here and she had the maid and the gardener from the show giving cookies and punch to the audience; it was a fun show. The seats up front and on the sides are more comfy than the taller seats in the middle, but it is a small theatre, so first come first served. Be sure to get there early! There is a nice concessions table with snacks and drinks just in case you didn't get a chance to eat before the show. I should mention that the restrooms are backstage, so they can't be accessed during the show depending on the stage set-up, so be prepared! Oh, did I mention that the tickets are $20? You can't get into see live theatre, barely a couple of movie tickets for that price around here. Check the website for pay-what-you-can preview days to get a first look at the play in progress. This is a very fun and casual theatre; one you likely didn't know was right around the corner from you. If you live in the area, especially, you should go and check it out: www.venustheatre.org

We were so lucky he agreed to drive well outside of his usual area to perform. His illusions were mesmerizing, and he expertly handled a room full of inquisitive and skeptical kids by getting most of them involved in his performance. He gave a great message in the end of the performance also, drawing on the themes of inclusion and acceptance from the Harry Potter stories, which the adults present also mentioned as being a highlight. We cannot say enough great things about his professionalism and performance and we would highly recommend him for any event!

Vick had a wonderful story line and great tricks that kept everyone's attention! We had some guests that are very skeptical of magic tricks, and he still blew them away! I'm so happy we had him! We ended up starting his show a little late, unfortunately, but he was incredibly patient, set-up, and mingled with a few guests while he waited! He then put on a 45-50 minute show for all of us, and included some guests, my father, and us in the show! I highly recommend him for ANY event -- weddings, birthdays (children AND adult), social events, etc. Thanks, Vick!
