So I like this theater overall BUT even though the reclining seats were comfortable, they're all starting to tear. They have a smooth process of getting into the theater, bathrooms are clean, and the surround sound is clutch, but please fix the ripped chairs!

I sat in the fourth row behind the ADA seating and I felt like I was extremely close to the screen. And if you go early-ish it's a mere $10 ticket, sometimes less if you go early-ish and during the week. So no crowds, quick walk, and cheap tickets. Oh and it's always super clean and the seats (although they are not the incredible recliners that some magical theaters are adopting) are very comfortable. So no crowds, quick walk, cheap tickets, super clean and comfortable seats. I am not totally biased, I have my cons. The line for concessions often doubles as the line for tickets, so even if you aren't looking to get something sweet or savory, you still have to wait a bit. But uhhh if you actually can go to the movies and not get popcorn, snowcaps and sour patch kids, I don't think we should be going to movies together... So besides the semi-often combined line and lack of reclining seats, this theater is a Hoboken gem that literally never has crowds, is a quick walk from anywhere in Hoboken, has cheap tickets, is clean and comfortable.

I never eat movie theater food as it is so overpriced, but there is always a waft of fresh popcorn being made in the popcorn machines. The service here is pretty fast. The box office attendants are on top of things. One of the reasons I attend this theater more than others is the fact that they have so many early screenings. Thank you to my son! First off, this location is massive and impressively well kept. From the moment you walk in, there's a kind of buzz that makes it feel like more than just a movie theater, wow it feels like an exciting experience. The lobby is spacious and clean, with plenty of kiosks to keep lines moving quickly, even when it's busy. The staff were friendly and efficient, which made everything easy from the start. We watched the film in one of their premium auditoriums, and that's where AMC Lincoln Square really stands out. The screen was enormous, the sound system was crisp and immersive, and the seating was extremely comfortable with plenty of leg room and great sightlines all around. It's the kind of setup that lets you fully sink into the movie without distractions. As for Michael, it felt less like a warts and all documentary and more like a musical celebration of an icon. The film leans into the legacy and artistry, leaving audiences feeling satisfied and entertained, though it may leave those looking for a deeper or more critical exploration of the tougher parts of the story wanting more. Still, seeing it in such a high quality theater really elevated the experience and played to the film's strengths. And I have to mention the snacks that I had which was the pretzel which was enormous and surprisingly delicious! Honestly, it was so big I couldn't even finish it (which never happens), but it was a perfect movie treat and definitely worth trying. What made the night most memorable, though, was sharing it with my son and the others, we had a great time. Between the energy of the theater and the spectacle of the film, it felt like more than just a movie, it was a great night out together. Overall, AMC Lincoln Square delivers comfort, quality, and a true big screen experience. I'll absolutely be coming back.

The elegant theater, with its distinctive Arte Moderne style became a première cinema venue for the best films from around the world. Over time many hits such as: Zefirelli's 'Romeo and Juliet' 1968 (Italy), 'A Room With a View' 1985 by James Ivory (UK) , et le film 'Belle de Jour' 1967 (France) directed by Luis Buñuel, were introduced to the United States with an introductory theatrical run at our beloved Paris. (Click on my Substack for more Baumbach thoughts including my brief interaction with the auteur, as awkward as many of his finest scenes). You may have heard about the successful company that helped destroy movie theaters by pivoting to "content" meant to promote purchases of high-end TVs and nice couches. (Related, I went to Best Buy and didn't recognize anything. Is that a thermostat? A stereo? A smart garden hose?) This company was so successful, that after Knives Out was heralded as single-handedly reviving non-Marvel film, its sequel was withheld from the theaters it allegedly saved. (BTW, if you were planning to tell me to watch the amazing 53-part Quibi streaming series about The Golden Age Of Hollywood, don't bother). But after Netflix helped destroy theaters, it did a nice thing. It's one of those ironic moments like the purse-snatcher scene in Jay Kelly. It signed a lease that helped the Paris avoid the fate of the Ziegfeld and a million others, in a world where the AMC theaters that destroyed all the independents have been suffering themselves. So, while it was vile that Netflix thought Roma should be seen on TVs, it was nice of them to show it at the Paris, especially for the unusually vibrant sound. I saw Train Dreams Saturday. I suppose, like the kid in Squid and The Whale, I am a philistine. I wish I could praise its morose existentialism but I'm not quite on board. However, I did appreciate the majesty of the northwestern fires and falling trees in this venue. There was no assigned seating; not sure if this is just temporary, but if they keep that policy I might be obliged to overlook Netflix's evil and upgrade to 5 stars.

However, I wanted to see a movie after work and this was the earliest screening time. I got off the one train and made it in time. There is an AMC directly across the street so I don't know how they have profitable business when they are right next to each other. This place was awesome. After going through all the escalators, I reached the top floor. I was surprised at how large this theater was. They have a wide open two floors and dining area. I was able to walk around and see all the attractions nearby. It was crowded but there was space for everyone to maintain distance and not bump into each other. This theater was bigger than other ones I have been to in the city. The highlight was definitely the top floor. They had a whole RPX area with bright lights and large projection screens. This was a cool place to hang out. I ended up seeing a movie in RPX. It is usually close to $40 for a ticket with everything included. Luckily I had a five dollar ticket from TMobile which eased the cost. I don't know if I would spend all that money for a ticket myself. I did have a great time and plan to come back here again soon. This place is underrated if you ask me.

BE WARNED, THERE'S NO A/C AT THIS AMC LOCATION, AMC EMPIRE 25 (AT 42ND ST TIMES SQUARE)…read more My husband and I were at AMC Empire 25 on Saturday, April 25, 2026. We bought concessions and settled into our seats but noticed it was quite warm. The movie had just started so we assumed it would get cooler soon, but it never did, making for a hot, uncomfortable viewing experience. Mind you, the A/C was working everywhere else: the lobby, hallways, bathrooms. You'd really have no idea the A/C didn't work in the theatres until you walked in and were seated. When we left the theatre we heard everyone in the hallways saying the same thing, how hot the theatres were. That's how so we knew it wasn't just our theatre. We went downstairs to find an employee and spoke to the staff member who scanned the tickets for entry. Get this: He told us it's a known issue that they've had for A MONTH. They knew but there's no signs when you enter the building so we could make an informed decision before buying tickets. We went all the way downstairs to the lobby and found someone named Michael who said he was the "manager." When we told him about the hot theatres he was unconscionably rude and dismissive. He said "You watched the movie so we won't give you a refund." He actually faulted us for our experience, said we should have left the theatre, searched for staff or come down the long escalators 4-5 floors to find him and inform him about an issue he is already WELL AWARE OF. Due to most of us buying tickets online or at the kiosks in the lobby, I think management has lost all customer facing sensibilities. This manager was so unconcerned we'd had a lousy viewing experience; his response was flippant and unacceptable. We didn't even want a refund (tickets were a gift), but it would have been acceptable to get a rain check or something so we could hopefully view the film again in better comfort when the A/C is fixed. We used to avoid this theatre like the plague. It was dirty, rundown, broken seats and a horrifyingly persistent bed bug problem. Then they renovated and it was beautiful, became our favourite theatre to visit. When there are known service issues like hot theatres/NO A/C there should be signs placed in the lobby so you can make an informed decision before buying tickets or to let you know you can ask for a refund if you bought tickets online. Even better, they should update their website and app with ongoing service issues.
