I just left the theater after being in #10 for the Young Washington show this evening. I was not optimistic walking to the screen. The floors appear to need a good cleaning. When I opened the door to go inside I was hit with a stale musty smell. Once I got to my seat it didn't get any better. At one point we considered leaving because as you shifted around the odor would permeate. After the show ended , I used the flashlight from our phones to look at the seats. And they needed a good cleaning as well. Very disappointing that we spent a few dollars short of fifty dollars on tickets and popcorn and drinks to then sit in a gross theater. read more

I've never set foot in Regal Nitro before since getting there is like trying to drive around a life-sized paper clip from my buddy's place in Saint Albees, but I was quite pleased with the experience. I was here to see Thunderbolts*, and I can confirm that this is the best film I've ever seen here. Even better than the Captain Tootsie movie that I've never watched. The theatre smelled like Thunderbutt* though because the young couple beside us forgot to change their undies last week, so I reckon they'll be getting more complaints soon if they keep it up. I had to talk the kiosk out of me having to pay an arm and leg for my ticket, so I only had to pay $16. I'll be back whenever. read more

This is a great place to catch a movie in West Virginia. They always have my favorites.

My husband and I have been going to this theater since it opened as we live in Cross Lanes. It's a great movie theater. The staff has always treated us like family. Concession prices are a little high but we have unlimited accounts so it's not really that bad plus we bought the refillable container for popcorn and a drink. On several occasions we've gotten refills for free the next day because of the time of day we've gone to the movies. I certainly hope they stay in business forever because it's a great place for my husband and I to go for our dates. read more

Seats are cramped. 500 seats and 6 viewers in the theater. NO leg room. Worse than an airplane. Popcorn was stale. Drinks seemed watered down. No hand towels in the filthy men's room, and no toilet paper in two stalls of the ladies room (per my wife). These issues were raised with the employees who didn't seem to care. I've alerted their corporate office, but they have not responded. Two senior tickets, a popcorn and two sodas....$50! /i won't return to that theater. read more

Have been there twice and after paying for the movie, we had to leave. The first time the lights flickered and shortly thereafter the movie went off. Staff kept telling everyone the movie should be back on soon so the majority stayed as we'd already watched half the movie. They kept sounding like they were getting it rebooted as they gave us updates. After 45 minutes they announced they were giving refunds or passes. The second time was today. They put the wrong movie name over the wrong door. We kept waiting for it to start. A small group of us went to complain because the movie hadn't started. We were informed that it had already started in another theatre there. Guess they forgot to change their sign and didn't bother to tell the people who were already in the theatre they had marked incorrectly. Movie passes again. Try another theatre. read more

This theater is convenient but needs massively remodeled. The perk is unlimited movie with pass. This theater is worth $5 tuesdays and $5 large popcorn tub. Do not pay full night price. Concessions are higher than Cinemark. The theater seats are an older burlap type material, pull down armrests, zero leg room unless you are sitting in second row on a side to put feet on rail. The bathrooms/fixtures are usually clean but always have at least toilet broken. The hallways carpeting has stains everywhere. As compared to the hand full of other regal theaters in wv, this one is the worst. They turn off lobby lights at the start of last movie showing. It is very dark to see to leave and parking lot has zero front light poles on either. The 24/7 fed ex warehouse is across the parking lot and somehow the cross lanes/nitro drifter/vagabond folk do not venture here. The male manager that frequently works the later shows gets frustrated but I Don't think he means to be rude. We have been a little late to one movie and he waited to start it since no one else had bought a ticket. We have seen barbie and it was ok as in sound. Haunted mansion, the sound was not up enough and maybe speaker issue. Strays: the sound was working but very loud on previews but movie was normal. INCONSISTENT. Probably due to age of equipment and needing updates. I will say a perk of this theater is nice: you don't have to choose a seat online or inside and be stuck with it (I get it but at the same time I just think it's annoying). Amc and Cinemark does this and a couple times people sit in ur seat and it's annoying. read more

I have to give the Regal Cinemas in Nitro a mixed review. Yesterday I went to the Regal to see "Call Me By Your Name." When the trailers were showing before the feature began, there was no sound. On TWO occasions people went out to inform the management, and we were told, "Oh don't worry, the sound will come on for the main film." Well, the sound didn't come on during the feature, and a third person from the audience went out to tell the management. Finally, about five minutes into the picture, the sound came on. Pretty shoddy way to run a theater, especially if you WANT to see and hear the trailers. Price-wise, you'll pay about a dollar more for an afternoon matinee ticket at the Regal than you will at the Park Place Cinemas in downtown Charleston. On the plus side, I have to give credit to Regal for showing a lot of Fathom Events movies, including the Met Live in HD series. I have seen a lot of live Metropolitan Opera broadcasts there, and it's always a real treat. And on occasion the Regal will show some lesser-known films. At this time they are the ONLY theater in the Kanawha Valley to be screening "Call Me By Your Name," and I appreciate that. read more

This is the movie theater I go to all the time. It is very great and sometimes in the summer they have these $1 movies. The lines are sometimes a little slow but for the most part it is great. They have all the movies that come out. Also, the popcorn is great. The candy can get a little bit expensive. Mainly this is a great movie theater. I'm very glad to live near this theater. read more

$63 for my family to watch a movie with no air conditioning! It was 79 degrees in the theater during the entire film. At least 2 different people complained to the staff who said the a/c was being turned on. Never was. Won't be back. read more

Great Escape Theatres is now owned by Regal Entertainment Group. I've been coming to this theatre since it opened due to location. Service and Quality was always so-so. I've noticed a change with new ownership. If I didn't recognize the staff I'd think they were different people. Service is friendly, fast, and fantastic. I feel like a Guest and not a Customer. Concerning other reviewers, I've never had a bag of popcorn that tasted too salty. I'm usually asking for additional salt. I've been to Marquee and Frank. Their popcorn tastes like Cheerios. This is probably due to the fact that it's old. Great Escape is the only local theatre that makes their popcorn fresh, right in front of you. White Castle Cheeseburgers, M&M Ice Cream Sandwiches, Twix / Snickers / Milky Way Ice Cream Bars, Lemon / Cherry Limeade / Strawberry Ice Cups, Dippin' Dots, GoPicnic Meals, Kernel Seasons Flavored Salt... Just a few items that you will only find at the concession stand at Great Escape. Fantastic selections. The only difference is the price and I'd gladly pay the extra for the service I receive at Great Escape. They also have Sony Closed Captioning devices at this location. I've been to other Regals before and they have an exclusive deal with Sony on amazing technology. The deaf and the blind can watch movies with closed captioning glasses and descriptive audio headphones. I was blown away. Also...ADULTS. You can come here. Regal maintains a very strict Rated R policy and theatres are checked once or twice for any disruptions. You wont have noisy kid problems here. Oh, this is also the only local theatre with NCM Fathom (alternative content). I've attended an Opera, a 3D UFC Fight, Casablanca, and The Birds. My son bought tickets online and then the person going with him got sick and was unable to go. We tried calling the number for the office they gave out 304-769-0409 numerous times over a couple of hours and could never get an answer. The website did not show a way to cancel his order.
