"Start the projection machine Everyone's gone to the movies Now we're alone at last" (Steely Dan) My wife was given a Regal gift card a few years ago, and we never got around to using it. Covid 19 kept us out of the theaters for 2 years, and closing after closing of Regal theaters really kept the number of possible nearby destinations to a minimum. Yes, there are over 500 Regal theaters in the country, but there is just one remaining in Connecticut, (in Waterford). Luckily for us, there is one in nearby Springfield, MA, in the opulent MGM Grand Casino complex, so that's where we went to see Oppenheimer on Saturday. We parked for free in the 5-story casino garage and took the elevator down to the first floor casino level. From there, we took an escalator up to the Regal. Tickets are sold at kiosks, so you will never buy your tickets from a cashier. The kiosks worked great, and we easily paid for our $12.50 Senior tickets using that old gift card. I should point out that when you buy your tickets, a seating chart opens up on your screen, so you buy reserved seats, like you're going to a concert or a ball game. We saw a big concession stand and a big bar on the same level, so you can get a beer and a popcorn if you want to. Oppenheimer started at 11:30, and the bar and concession stand opened up at 11:00. We walked over to the theaters at 11:15 and were met by the only human being we interacted with when a cheerful jolly guy checked our tickets and directed us to screen #5. The seats are fantastic, super comfortable with a button that raises your legs as if you are in a living room recliner. The sound and projection were flawless, and since both were such a big part of the Oppenheimer movie, that was awesome. Some of the rumbling explosions during the Trident bomb test made me jump out of my seat. Our consumer experience at the MGM Regal was magnificent. Now maybe you can do better than $12.50/ticket, but I felt my time at the movies was worth every penny.

Agawam Cinemas is a awesome place for families and fun! My favorite childhood theater! Today I am meeting Michael Winslow!

This theater is not just poorly run--it's dangerous and openly breaks laws. The owner discriminates against people with dietary restrictions and special needs, blatantly violating ADA regulations. Customers with medical conditions like Crohn's disease, allergies, or other dietary needs are forced to throw away or put away their safe foods, making it impossible to enjoy their experience. To make matters worse, she refuses refunds when asked and only offers useless coupons--even though most people who endure her mistreatment have no intention of returning. The reason I'm leaving this review is because of how horribly she treats customers--even after you spend $100+ on a trip with your family. If you bring a snack from outside for yourself or a disabled child, even when you're already paying for theater snacks, she makes it an issue. This is ridiculous and overstepping. As a customer, it's none of her business if we bring a specific snack for a medical or personal reason, especially when it's justified and necessary. What makes this even worse is the owner's constant claims that she's running a "small mom-and-pop business." But her behavior is anything but. She acts more like a dictator than a community-focused small business owner. By degrading and harassing customers, she's giving small businesses a bad name. This is not how a true small business should treat people. On top of that, she manipulates her business's reputation by posting fake reviews. For every negative review, several fake positive ones suddenly appear, written by obvious bots. This is a deliberate attempt to mislead the public and cover up how horribly this theater is run. The theater itself feels abandoned and neglected, with stale food, unprofessional staff, and an overall uncomfortable atmosphere. It's not just a bad experience--it's downright concerning. If you've been mistreated at this theater, especially if you were forced to throw away your snacks due to special dietary needs or denied a refund, FILE A REPORT. Contact the ADA, the Better Business Bureau, the health department, and local consumer protection agencies. Consider reaching out to local news stations to bring attention to these serious issues. This theater should not be allowed to continue operating under such shady and illegal practices. Stay away, warn others, and take action!

Cons (which are minor) involve: Some of the seats needed to be re-postered, as the leather was clearly worn, and some of the plastic around the cub holders were significantly peeling away. Normally I wouldn't say anything but for a a theatre with a premium feel I feel like I had to mention. In addition, we went in the winter and theatre was very warm. A coat-check also would have been nice considering the premium vibe of the theatre. Still, I'm nit-picking. It's a fun time for date. Would recommend.

Located in the heart of Blue Back Square, this six-screen boutique theater trades the traditional crowded lobby for a sophisticated, lounge-style atmosphere. The Seating & Atmosphere The highlight of the Cinépolis experience is the fully reclining leather seats. These aren't just standard loungers; they are oversized, plush, and offer plenty of personal space. With only 359 seats across six auditoriums, the environment feels intimate rather than cavernous. Each seat is equipped with a service button, allowing you to summon a "ninja-like" waiter who handles your orders discretely so as not to interrupt the film. The bill is discretely provided at the end of the showing. The chairs have seen better days in some instances with worn leather services, but they are still plush and comfortable just do for an update. Cinépolis moves far beyond just popcorn and soda. Their full-service menu features chef-driven items that you'd expect at a trendy gastropub rather than a cinema: Truffle fries, lobster rolls, artisan pizzas, and "Nacho Supreme." * The Bar: A sophisticated selection of craft beers, a curated wine list, and a specialty cocktail menu featuring hand-crafted drinks like their signature margaritas and seasonal mules. * Weekend Brunch: On Saturdays and Sundays, the theater offers a specific brunch vibe with $6 Bloody Marys and Mimosas available until 3:00 PM--perfect for a late morning matinee. The "waiter service at your seat" is the defining luxury here. You can order everything from your phone via the Cinépolis app before you arrive, or simply press the button at your seat for a refill or a second round of appetizers. They offer .. * Discount Tuesdays: If you want the luxury experience on a budget, tickets are significantly discounted on Tuesdays, and Happy Hour deals often run late. Give yourself time and arrive about 20-30 minutes early. This gives you time to settle into your recliner and look over the menu before the lights go down. Use the municipal garages in Blue Back Square; the theater is a short walk from the Isham or Memorial garages or of your lucky enough find a paid spot on the main road. Directly next to Gabriel's steakhouse you can really have a very nice dinner and show experience .
