This place is in terrible need of an update and maintenance. Broken chairs are a major issue since they force you to pre-book your chair which can't be changed. Incredibly uncomfortable to sit in a Broken, dilapidated chair. The bathrooms in this place are ala the 80s .. seriously you have to touch the toilets and sinks to activate them. I have been to this theater many many times, as I was born and raised in Anchorage. Most recent visit was March 2024. Family went to see Dune part 2 and I am not sitting in a movie for 3hrs so I opted to watch Migration, the silly animated comedy about a duck. I can go shopping after while they are still in the theater, perfect! There was a guy checking phones/tickets as you walk up to the concessions area. I'm pretty sure they do t have the ticket counter open any more, they want you to do it on your phone or they will help you at the concession counter on the end. Concessions: they had limited options. No hotdogs. They had the classic bagged chips with nacho cheese. Cheetos or Tostitos. I think they had Doritos nachos or some sort too. Soft pretzel, and two other items. They had an array of ice creams/sorbets which was nice to see and the typical candy selection which was wide. They have Pepsi products, which I know it's a different company than century which has Coke. The seats: the theater I was in was small, had four rows of seats. The theater is no inclined so you are not above the people in front of you, which I kind of prefer because I can see peoples heads and the backs of the seats in the screen. They recline but do not heat like century. However they do have two cup holders per seat so you are not sharing an armrest which is really nice. Overall not a bad option. All employees encountered have been kind and competent enough for the job. Bathrooms are regularly checked on. The concession stand is usually tidy and clean. I especially love this theatre for day-dates (appreciate those 11am showings), while the kiddos are in school. We enjoyed watching the new Star Wars movie here. We did a date night and ordered our tickets through Fandango so we could just walk up and show the phone and we're in. Hard to believe these recliner theatre seats were around for years before others came about in town. A little dated but they still feel pretty good! The young staff work their butts off and there is never a manager in sight. it's not the best experience you'll ever have with wonderful service, but it's a movie theatre. Hormonal angry teenagers with attitudes, drinks with way too much ice that cost too much and stale popcorn. This is the new movie experience I have come to know here in Alaska. One few things I can say thoug, is that: the theatre is ALWAYS clean here, the recliners are extremely comfortable, and the bathroom isn't a complete mess. However, the rarely open on time every time I've gone, someone always has an attitude, the manager doesn't care and refuses to refund your money when the lights don't go down during the entire movie. I came here for a late night movie for the first time in many years. I avoided this theater for a while because the last time I had been there was before they renovated the theaters with the new seats. I ended up coming here since it's the closest theater to my home and I'm glad I did. I have never been in a theater with reclining seats so I was pleasantly surprised when I first walked in. The recliners are comfortable and have large arm rests and drink holders. Perhaps best of all is the ample space between rows, which basically eliminates the issue of anyone kicking your seat. This is one of the major reasons I rarely go to movie theaters but I may go more often to this one. However, the theater was COLD. Like there was a draft the entire time, even when the doors were closed. I don't know if it's because I was sitting in the very back row or what. Thankfully I brought a hoodie so I was comfortable enough. Restrooms are conveniently located behind the concession stand. They were very clean for a movie theater restroom. Can't say anything about concessions since I didn't buy anything from there. Only other complaint - though I assume this has more to do with Regal as a whole than this theater itself - is that I had a "free" movie ticket I've been holding onto for a while, but I ended up paying $1.50 for it. I believe the ticket for the movie was $11.50 so really the ticket was only worth $10. A bit misleading for something that says you get a free movie and never expires. Minor complaint and not an issue if you go to a matinee show, but that policy should be clarified. read more

This is such an amazing theater! It's located in the shopping mall on the third floor. The best spot to park near is the right side of Best Buy. Pros: - The best thing is the reclining seats! Completely rude. We went to a noon movie they put us in for the wrong movie. After we realized it was the wrong movie we walked out immediately to let them know. The next showing for the movie we wanted was an hour. So we decided to check in with our sitter to see if we have coverage for an extra few hours. When we went back they made us pay an extra $6. Even though it was their fault. They were extremely dismissive and rude about it. I do not recommend this theater. Also fix your kiosk so this issue won't be reoccurring for others. read more

I love this theater, the staff is very friendly and professional, the seats are comfy, but it's starting to go downhill which is rather devastating to me because I love this place. For one thing, I guess Regal headquarters decided to up the prices on concessions which was out of nowhere, there are broken seats in every theater that were broken 3 years ago and there's not much done about unwanted actions in the theater (phone use, loud talking, not removing a screaming child, etc) So for example, I went to see "Last night in Soho" on 11/5/2021 and about halfway through the movie, someone was snoring super loud so I went to get a staff to see if the person could at least be woken up. I was told a manager was coming, but no one came, and there was theater hopping going on. read more

This theater in the Dimond Center next to the Perfect Cup on the second floor of the main mall can be a hit or miss for me in terms of viewing experience. I recently came by here with a friend to catch a matinee showing of The Purge: Election Year. Some good memories of this theater over the years include watching the premiere of Finding Nemo with family, catching a free showing of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid as well as entering a contest drawing for prizes like memorabilia from the movie or free tickets, and the Lord of the Rings marathon before the premiere of The Return of the King back in 2003. In years past, I always thought this theater was too cramped and small especially when it's packed at nights or on the weekends. It definitely can't compare to space when it comes to the Regal theater at Muldoon or Century Cinemas in midtown. The ticket lines can be a tedious wait especially if a long line has formed. The best way to get your tickets here without having to wait is ordering them online or using the little kiosk stand off to the side of the box office that prints out the tickets for you. The concession stand can also be a hit or miss. If no one is around, the wait is relatively quick for popcorn and drinks. When it gets busy, the wait can be as long as fifteen or twenty minutes with only three people behind the counter. This certainly doesn't help if you came ten minutes early hoping to get some food and be seated before the movie starts. I only go to the concession stand if I happen to get free popcorn, drinks, or candy with enough points accumulated on my Regal Crown Club Card. The card has been extremely beneficial every time I come by and I have had free movie tickets on several occasions based on the amount of points I collected on the card. Today, the seating in the theater has changed from arena-style seating to assigned seating for reclining chairs in each auditorium. This has proven to be both good and bad when catching a movie with a significant number of people coming in for a premiere or on weekends. The good can be emphasized by the comfort and space of the recliners as well as falling asleep on these chairs. (Nobody wants to doze off during a movie they paid to see, but this is a plus if they're that comfortable enough with food and drinks by their side. I personally wish the theater could do this every Sunday with NFL games during the football season). The bad side about assigned seating is the lack of privacy by being seated next to someone who you don't necessarily want to sit next to for a couple of hours especially if that person is talking loud or texting on their phone. I honestly believe that moviegoers would be more comfortable if they could choose where they could sit without having to feel boxed in with a bunch of strangers while the other side of the auditorium is completely empty. If personal space or comfort is very important to you when seeing a movie here, I would recommend coming in on the weekdays during mid-morning or afternoon for the matinee showings. All issues aside, this can be a very fun and relaxing experience to see a film with family or friends. read more

My favorite theater in town! Love, love, love the recliner seats ( so comfy!!) and the reserved seating. I always just reserve seats via Fandango so I don't have to go to the theater early. They are starting to check purses, etc now for weapons. I had a water bottle in my purse and thought they were gonna ask me to throw it away, but they didn't :) That was cool of them! Their theaters have all been completely renovated with the world's comfiest recliners. There are no more than five or six rows of patrons, so it's a much more cozy experience. You get TWO armrests with drink holders in each, and the seats are wide enough to recline fully and curl up in your seat. The Dimond theater has ruined me for the other theaters in town. read more

This is my first choice theater because of the reclining seats with two arm rests for each seat. Also all seats are reserved so you don't have to rush to the theater if you buy ahead (I always use fandango). They finally updated the women's bathroom (a bit) and have newer sinks/backsplash and finally paper towels (I hated the super old hand dryer). Also they have some really good (new?) staff who are super quick to get your food/drinks and tickets if you have to pick your seats at the theater and want to use cash. So an updated review with an extra star for the great staff. There is usually still a line for food so get there 15 mins early if you are going in the evening and want food. read more

These two words do NOT belong together and this Regal location has pretty much eliminated that problem by spacing the aisles far enough apart so your attention isn't violently yanked out of the movie because some hyperactive child or inconsiderate adult can't keep their feet on the floor. When I'm serious about watching a movie, this is typically my first choice. A few years ago, they installed reclining chairs in every auditorium. So not only are you unlikely to be perturbed by a seat-kicker, you can lay back and actually be comfortable for a couple hours. This comes in handy when you're dragged to a movie you don't want to see (...naptime!) As usual, expect to spend a small fortune on popcorn, candy and soda. Or do what I do and don't eat that crap in the first place. I do like a good pretzel and cheese but the first time I ordered one, it was just a frozen pretzel microwaved in a plastic package. Yuck. (I ate it anyway because I am genetically deficient in artificial cheese product so its important I have something to shovel it into my system with.) All-in-all, it's a pretty solid movie house. A little on the small side but the seating makes all the difference and that's not something any other theatre in town offers. read more

Concession stand/customer service: I sent my eight-year-old son up from the movie to the concession stand to buy a refill on his soda - he waits in line and is at the counter with a medium-size cup and a $20 bill, when "Ethan" the girl behind the counter (that's what her name tag said) told him "we DON'T refill those". Nothing else, not even willing to sell him another small drink for $5.25 - did I mention he was holding out a $20 bill? Since deciding to try this movie theater out a year ago, never will I ever go to another movie theater in Anchorage again. Here is why: 1. If you are a planner like I am, you can choose in advance where you will be sitting. 2. Your seat is a large, comfy, leather, reclining chair. 3. Each chair gets two (yes two) armrests, so you choose to utilize them. Their lines at the concession stand is typically longer. However, I guess that could be at any theater. Their customer service is pretty great. If you missed your movie or need a refund, talk to them! They do offer remedies or options for you so don't be afraid to ask and feel like you missed out. We recently started going to the Regal Cinemas Dimond location on request from our daughter. After eating their popcorn the first 2 or 3 times we went all of our hands would become red, swollen and itchy. Last night we went to see Transporter Reloaded at the same place but were going to skip the popcorn at my wife's request. I explained to the cashier what had happened the previous few times with the popcorn and asked them was there something on the popcorn that would be causing this. She explained that they use salt that tastes like butter but not likely butter. I told her that our whole family is Vegan and maybe this was causing this issue. I then requested the popcorn be made without the salt/butter flavoring and she was very gracious to ask her manager. Without hesitation they made the next batch without any of the salt/butter flavoring. We ate the large bucket of popcorn throughout the movie without any issues. Besides being gracious hosts Regal Cinemas Dimond has the best movie theatre seats in Anchorage which fully recline like a first class seat. Also, you can make reservations ahead of time and pick your own seats! Awesome!!!! read more

I used to avoid Regal Cinema in the Dimond Center like the plague because of its location in the mall. But I have to say now this location has ruined me for any other movie theater here in the Anchorage area! The owner probably did the most genius thing ever for this location and probably saved this failing theater in the process by putting in reclining, leather seats. All equipped with 2 drink holders and if that wasn't enough? You get use of both armrests as well!!! Yes, (yes 2) you heard correctly! Both armrests folks no more turf wars over who's side of the armrest you are on!!! This renovation has changed this place forever and made it a destination spot for movie goes! The whole reserved seating though has it's benefits and its drawbacks. Benefit....... Reserved seating Drawback... Reserved seating Let me explain. While it is nice to be able to pick the seat you want in advance and not have to show up super early and be the first one in the movie theater line to get a good seat or worry about someone else hoarding seats.....This also works against you because you are not the only one with this idea and sometimes the seats reserve fast and it is difficult to get a good seat for the show and time you want... But overall, I found I can put up with this small inconvenience in order to upgrade my movie viewing experience. The service at the concession counter does need some help though. There are never enough people manning the registers and the lines tend to not move very fast, but for the comfort and movie going experience they provide inside the theater you will find yourself more than willing to take it. read more

My wife and I bought tickets for the Battle of the Five Armies. Not only was the movie fantastic but the seats were amazing, Seating is assigned and the time of purchase. The seats fully recline and are very comfortable. The really nice thing is that I went to get some popcorn and drinks for my wife and I when the cashier noticed I was struggling to take my stuff back to my seat. A very pleasant staff member helped me carry my purchases. The combination of customer service great sound and comfortable seats had made this our theater of choice for Anchorage. read more

Typically I would give this theater a 5 star rating; however, the customer service at the concession stand was far from 5-Stars. The girl at the counter seemed less interested in answering my questions about redeeming my rewards for a small popcorn. I would have understood her frustration if there had been a long line of people behind me, but there wasn't. Mid-day, no people traffic, plenty of time to have answered my question but instead I'm given attitude as if I was wrong for not knowing the answer. We bought our tickets and then went to our seat. Somebody was in them. We took all 5 kids out of the theater and ask for staff assistance. They said they were to busy and would see us in a few min. We went back in to speak to the person in our seats. They insisted it was correct. We sat the kids in the aisle to watch the first part of the movie while waiting for assistance. I went out again for help. Told to be patient. Finally 30 min into the movie a manger cam and told us we were in violation of fire code. I showed him our tickets and he asked to see the other parties tickets. They came to the wrong show. They apologized and gave us our seats. I asked for a refund. He said well we didn't miss the movie we just stood in the aisle. I did not pay for an aisle I paid for a seat. I asked again and stepped out into the lobby with him and loudly asked for a refund. He said no. I went back in and finished the movie with our friends so the kids could enjoy it. Afterwards a new manger was available and I explained. They were about 17 years old and reluctantly gave us comp passes. What a mess. read more

Bring a pillow and a blanket because with these seats, you may have a hard time not taking a little nap. They caught me by surprise when I went to see American Sniper and was set back at first when they had me select a seat. I thought that the show would not be packed and seating would be more than available. Since they only had a few seats to choose from I almost decided to leave and changed my mind, deciding to deal with a packed theater. I grabbed a small corn and a water and headed to stumble around other patrons to get to my "reserved" seat. One I walked one, I wasn't sure what to think. The seats were huge. Finding my seat was fairly easy one I found the row and seat tags. Definitely like have a real home theater with these seats. Very comfy and easy to watch a 2 hour show. The theater is one of the older theaters in Anchorage and the theaters are smaller, none-vertical seating placement (stadium), and not as high tech with the more recent movie going experience. Though the prices are just slightly lower than a better equipped theater in Anchorage. It is not the bargain theater though like Totem. Concessions prices are on par; definitely not great. I haven't had the kids and teenager negative experience 'recently' there in the theater itself, but in the halls while they wait for other movies yes. Parking is only OK at best at the mall in comparison to any of the other theaters in Anchorage. read more

As I said in my review of Century, if you come from the Bay Area, Century is AMC, and Regal is Century. Compared to the Century of Anchorage, Regal is not as big and not as polished. Regal Dimond is in the mall. Its chairs are less comfortable, its crowds are smaller, children are still annoying, pre-show is still annoying, coke is still too expensive. Service is typical of people forced to wear uniforms. However, it does play the mainstream indie of the week. In the end, who really cares? Go to the theatre that plays the movie you want. Unless you are looking for tips for movie hopping. I have no real expertise, but they will let you go in to pee if you say your friend is buying you a ticket. Spider-Man! Spider-Man! Still new to town and wanting to see the new Spider-Man movie, Yelp led me to Regal Cinemas at the Dimond Mall. This place was awesome. Very clean! It even seemed that the snacks were comparable to the lower 48 (pleasant surprise)! Nice screen, sound, and seating. The chairs reclined, so Spider-Man was seen in comfort. Luxury is what this theater is. Are you wanting a great movie experience as if from the comfort of your own home? Regal Dimond Center 9 now has recliner seats and let me tell you how comfortable they are and how new technology has made for a fantastic movie viewing experience. I just went and saw "Into The Woods" and was able to order my tickets online, select my seats, and have the information sent to my smartphone. I was able to have my smartphone scanned when I arrived at the theatre so I did not have to wait in line, I was able to find my seats quickly and because of the new reclining seats, there are not a ton of people in the theatre at one time so it is far more quiet and an overall wonderful experience. I highly recommend going to this theatre to try out these seats and see a great movie. Definitely worth it. read more

The only positives of this theater is that it has the comfy reclining chairs, other than that there's not much I can positively say about my visit. 1. You reserve seats, specific seats by row that you will sit in. I found my seat, then got up to get a drink, and when I came back ended up having to sit in a different row on the edge because someone was sitting in my seat and there were no available workers to amend the problem. 2. The concession stand is staffed with entirely incompetent people. Even with 5 registers open none of the lines were moving. I waited 20 minutes just to get an icee. You could tell people were anxiously shifting around trying to find which line was moving fastest because people were missing their movies having to wait for the slowest people on earth to figure out how to bag some popcorn. 3. They left the lights on through the movie! I'm not sure if they just forgot to shut the lights off or if this theatre just considers dim lights to be good enough, but it really ruined the feel of the movie sitting in a lit theater. So no, I would not come back to this theatre. There are way better movie options in anchorage for sure. read more
