I attended a performance put on by Arctic entries. It was wonderful . The Alaska Center for the performing arts is beautifully designed. The staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful. They made sure that all guests were comfortable and had everything they needed. The acoustics in the theater are outstanding. The seating is comfortable and offers great views from every angle , making it very easy to fully enjoy the performance . As I said earlier the show was spectacular featuring talented local residents who clearly put their hearts and souls into their seven minutes they had on stage to share their story . The atmosphere was warm, and the audience was certainly engaged from the start to finish. I highly recommend the Alaska Center for the performing arts to anyone looking for a memorable and high-quality cultural experience. Whether you're a local Alaskan or a visitor to Anchorage, this venue offers a wonderful opportunity to enjoy world class performances and a stunning setting.

The broadway show…read moreis based in the Tudor era and the performers are singing original songs inspired by pop artists. Knowing nothing about the musical, I gathered it is based the following, "From Tudor Queens to Pop Icons, the SIX wives of Henry VIII take the microphone to reclaim their identities out of the shadow of their infamous spouse - remixing five hundred years of historical heartbreak into a Euphoric Celebration of 21st century girl power! This new original musical is the global sensation that everyone is losing their head over!" It was a very interesting, fast pace, audience participation and entertaining musical. It is nice to see a Broadway performance in Anchorage. Tickets ranged from $49 and up. Seats near the stage were over $150 while we opted for the Mezzanine seats @ $49. As you can see from the Mezzanie picture, we had wonderful seats. Overall: 4 stars for the Musical, the friendly staff, comfortable seats. The theater itself is beautifully decorated. Only CON is CenterTix doesn't have a Military Discount for all shows. It only has "special" dates for different associations. They say they do, but couldn't find any.

I feel terrible I've neglected our wonderful little art house. The theater itself is so perfect and intimate, you feel absolutely immersed in the action when you're there. The volunteer staff is as friendly as could be, and amazingly helpful. The concession stand features LOCAL soda brewer Beach Tribe Sodas by Mike Jipping as well as Alaska made chocolates. They also have complimentary bottled water for patrons. The ticket prices are very reasonable. *pro tip- call them directly to purchase your tickets and skip the "booking fee" center ticks charges.

This is a terrific local theater with well curated shows and delightful acting. The theater is…read morequite small and probably sits somewhere in the vicinity of 75-100 people. This means there really isn't a bad seat in the house. I was introduced to Cyranos in December of 2022 when I came for The Twelfth Night. The ability of actors and actresses to perform Shakespeare is, to my understanding, the measuring stick of truly superb acting. And the performers were excellent. They applied well thought out subtext and demonstrated an excellent command of the original language. I was hooked and could not wait to return for more plays. Since then, I have returned for two additional plays: The Book Club and First Day, the Musical. In addition to great acting and singing, the stage designs show an attention to detail and lots of forethought. Each time, I feel like I am walking into a brand new setting. Add the excellent lighting and sound folks back stage, and it's a truly amazing experience. Every performance I have viewed also comes with a new and exciting art gallery on display. The artwork is always intriguing. Additionally, they have a box office with coffee, tea, locally made soda, and a few snacks. I highly recommend this theater. They are doing an excellent job. I will caution you on one thing: parking. It is sort of a nightmare. This is not the place to try and show up at the last minute. Come early and expect there to be some Tetris involved in finding a spot. In winter with large snowfall, the road where many park becomes even more difficult to navigate.

Every seat in the house seems to have a pretty decent view due to the size and steepness of the space. Ushers are always helpful if you're lost AF. This is a great theatre to go to because of all the different shows that come through here; It's smaller than PAC, but is in the same building, just in a different side and entrance. I've come for a couple of shows here and most recently I came in for Arctic Entries, which is a very popular show that usually sells out. So popular that I bought tickets in the nose bleed section at 2:15PM the tickets went on sale at 2PM. Even though we were in so high up we had a great view of the stage. The seats are positioned so that no one in front of you will block your view. There is the usual beer and wine sold before the show and intermission. A savvy person would pre-order a beverage so that it would be waiting for them during intermission in order to maximize on sipping time and not wasting time standing in line. I would purchase tickets to an event here in the future.
