I took an alcohol ink class here and really enjoyed myself. It is a small studio tucked away in Spenard. There was four of us so it was nice and intimate and a lot of interaction with our teacher unlike other painting companies in town. Alcohol ink was new to me, but I'm fairly pleased with my outcome! The host was vibrant, talkative and engaging. She let us play and test the waters with the inks before diving right in to create our masterpiece. She offers so many different classes; alcohol ink, wood burning, water color, acrylics, terrarium building, succulent classes. I really look forward to joining in on another class. The wood burning in particular sounds fun! Price range is $50-60 which is about average. It's totally worth it to me because of the smaller class size and intimate atmosphere about it. Did I mention it was a sip and paint?! Yep! She provides snacks and wine! I divulged in the Moscato :) read more

I am giving this company another review as the owner contacted me on Sept 4th and apologized profusely about the Alaska State painting. She indicated that the instructor was new and she was hesitant to utilize her again after that event. She did give me a full reimbursement and extended the invitation to give the studio another try. I have not yet went back as I have recently returned from vacation, but I will. Honestly, just having the owner make contact and offer as well as comply with a full reimbursement speaks volumes. There could be a lot of other ways this was handled but I think the owner did it right. read more

While visiting Alaska I went to a Palette event at SubZero and it was the greatest time. The instructor and the owner were extremely kind, knowledgable and helpful . The event attracted a very nice crowd. Nice conversation, music and laughs. For someone with no painting skills like me, I feel very proud of the final result. Wish I lived closer to repeat the experience. read more

Palette is a local Alaskan company. We are a colorful little art studio bringing art to all experience levels. Palette brings fun and creativity to our community by offering classes and workshops at your favorite venue, corporate event or our studio. Our trained artists will teach you fundamentals in a step-by-step manner in each class and help you create your very own masterpiece. Come join us and harness your inner-artist!

Meet the Business Owner: Larissa A.

Larissa is the founder and visionary behind Palette, both pop-up art classes and the studio. Larissa loves people and art and believes there is an artist in all of us. Her vision behind Palette is one of community. Through Palette she seeks to build a creative outlet for the community and present art in a more approachable and fun way. Larissa is very active in the Anchorage art community, both with competitions, art festivals and First Fridays. She works with a few galleries and Hawaiian shirt companies in Hawaii as well. She studied art at St. Mary's College of California with her first job out of college being an art teacher at a children's art studio in San Francisco. Her dream has always been to open an art studio. Her favorite artists are Georgia O'Keefe and Katsushika Hokusai and is inspired by natural texture and color. She enjoys all art mediums but is currently working in acrylics. You can find Larissa working on a new art project, enjoying a good glass of Oregon Pinot Noir

This was my first Paint Nite and it was held at Hard Rock Cafe. My sister and I reserved our…read moretickets for Paint Your Pet and sent in a photo of the pet we wanted to paint. Usually Paint Nite will have a picture that everyone will paint at the same time, but in this instance you send in a photo and at the event there will be a sketch of your animal already laid out on the canvas. Started at 6PM and we were finished at 8:30PM. It was a fun way to spend a couple of hours with food and drink available. It was completely full and everyone had awesome portraits of their pet.
