Regal Air Flight School - Cessna 205 - 6 Seat Aircraft for Rental or Charter.

    Regal Air Flight School

As a long time student and renter at Regal Air, I can't say enough about how awesome this flight…read moreschool is. Barb and Alena do an amazing job at the front desk taking care of reservations and dispatch. Ricardo is a world class chief flight instructor who's always willing to lend a hand. Michael Flannagan is the best CFI I've ever had the pleasure of studying under. And at the controls of it all is Ron, an amazing guy and business owner! If you're looking for a flight school, this is the one!

I've been a Part 61 and part time student at Regal Air for a couple of years and have compared it…read moreto others schools in the area (i.e., Everett, Renton, Boeing Field). I'm confident Regal Air is at the top for the following reasons: 1) An excellent group of instructors with vast experience and great dedication to their students. They are great at tracking your progress and customising training -as far as the regulation allows- according to your needs. They will try their very best to accommodate to your -sometimes crazy- hours and to offer as much ground and flight instruction as needed -even done remotely-. They do walk that extra mile for you! 2) Unmatched quality and safety. Having aircraft maintenance and FAA certified avionics repair station branches allows them to keep their planes in optimal conditions for students and rentals. Part of their management has Air Force background, which translates into impecable service, operations and procedures. As with facilities, you will always find airplanes extremely clean and well equipped and maintained, ready for your next flight. Their front desk staff is professional, helpful, friendly and very competent. 3) Great location. Paine Field is THE place where you want to learn. Delta and Echo -depending on the time of the day- neighbouring Bravo, Charlie and Golf air spaces, means you will have plenty of airspaces and traffic (including airlines) to practice with and become a very knowledgeable, competent and confident pilot. A large number of nearby airports and airfields with the umatched scenery of the area plus its own great location within Paine Field -which allows you to access its two runways within a few minutes-, make Regal Air one of the best located schools in the Pacific Northwest. 4)* During Covid pandemic times, I've been greatly impressed with their safety and sanitary measures. Regularly cleaned and sanitised facilities, temperature and symptom screenings upon entering the building, masks required inside facilities and when flying accompanied -which are actually enforced and complied with-, and gloves provided together with isopropyl and wipes to sanitise airplane interiors before flying. These are only a reflection of their professionalism and commitment.

Even though I had been to Seattle several times over the past few years, it was my first time…read morevisiting Paine Field (PAE), and as seamless as my experience was at the Snohomish County airport, I wish I could say the same about the Alaska Airlines flight I took there. Things started off well as dropping my checked bag off at PAE was quite seamless. I checked in at the kiosk, which gave me a luggage tag for my checked bag. After attaching the luggage tag to my bag, I went over to the Bag Drop where Wilson was there to check my ID and collect my bag, wishing me a good day in the process. Wilson had a super friendly demeanor that perked me up even when I was half-asleep, so kudos to Wilson for his work ethic! I had an early morning flight on a Sunday that was scheduled to land in Orange County, CA later that morning. I figured if all went well, I could be home in time for lunch. Well, everything was going well until one of the PAE gate agents made an announcement that the flight was undergoing some maintenance, and we'd get our next update around the time we were supposed to board the plane. To make matters worse, it was also raining pretty hard that morning, and we were scheduled to fly out of Gate 2B at PAE, which meant we'd have to go outside to board the plane. About 10 minutes after the first announcement regarding maintenance, the gate agent made another announcement that our flight's gate got changed from 2B to 2A, which meant we'd be able to use the jet bridge to board the plane, quite the serendipitous silver lining given that they only had a limited number of umbrellas for passengers to borrow. But those maintenance issues lingered by the quarter of the hour. And I say that because the departure time kept getting pushed to the right every 15 minutes, which got kind of annoying because every 15 minutes, I thought we'd be getting closer to boarding. Nope! In fact, the inaccurate departure time would stand pat that even if we had started the boarding process at that point in time, there's no way the flight could leave by then. We started boarding just less than an hour after our initially scheduled departure time, but the boarding process was quite slow for a smaller flight that we were on. There was nobody sitting next to me, and I kept thinking they were waiting for that passenger to board the plane. There was a flight to Palm Springs that was scheduled to take off shortly from Gate 2B, and I saw passengers going outside to board that plane. I was even starting to fear that plane would take off first because we were told the maintenance issues hadn't been fully resolved yet. The crew mentioned that the reason for the delay was because of an issue with the water tank, which even though it wouldn't prevent the plane from flying, a failure to address this issue would have necessitated additional paperwork that they were trying to avoid. It was the first flight of the day, so the overnight maintenance crew must not have done their job in a timely manner to ensure that the plane would take off on time. After all this mess, we finally took off after a 90-minute delay, and our delay caused a delay for the Palm Springs flight as well since that plane needed to wait for our plane to take off first. Hopefully these delays didn't cascade into the later flights that day. I enjoyed the flight itself, mostly in part due to not having a neighbor right next to me. There were no middle seats on our flight, so as much as I wanted to lie down and nap during the flight, I wouldn't have been able to do so comfortably. Maybe a small child could, but I was too tall for that lol. The flight attendants on our flight were Susan and Oscar. They did a good job of doing what they could do to make us passengers feel comfortable during the flight. Before we took off, I witnessed Susan making good conversation with the passengers in front of me, even talking about their upcoming excursion to Disneyland. Complimentary refreshments are served mid-flight, and it's the usual, but tasty, Biscoff cookies with a beverage of the passenger's choice; I chose coffee. If you choose coffee, the flight attendant will ask if you'd like cream and/or sugar. I personally choose cream, but no sugar; consequently, I get two packets of creamers, which the wrappers indicate are made from cow's milk. The flight finally landed in Orange County, but in the afternoon. And we still had to wait because a couple planes that landed before us were still on the taxiway, waiting for the signal from air traffic control to park at their assigned gates. We had to wait another 20 or so minutes before we were finally let off the airplane. By the time I got home as well as lunch, I had much less time to unpack and get ready for work the next day.

I fly on Alaska Airlines from Everett to Las Vegas about once a month…read more I've noticed a big difference in service depending on the plane I fly on (An Alaska crew and plane versus Horizon crew and plane). I have to say that the service and plane are much better when flying original Alaska Air. I've also noticed a steep decline in the quality of food offered since COVID. My latest flight, Thursday October 17th was significantly delayed through no fault of the airline and the flight attendant was very polite and gave great service. However, my pre ordered meal ( fruit and cheese plate) was extremely sub par. My grapes were not fresh and the dark chocolate candy had been partially opened and looked to have been water soaked. Both were inedible. Very disappointed in the food in general but particularly on this flight!
