Love Buzzles, but my recent visit was not what any of us expected…read more Ordered two snow cones for my grandchildren: a small flat top (regular) and a medium flat top (sugar free). The sugar free one was the issue. One of my grandchildren is a Type 1 (insulin dependent) diabetic. Sugar free must really mean SUGAR FREE. Within 10 minutes of him digging into his snow cone, he stopped, saying something felt wrong. His glucose monitor patch was showing a spike in his glucose levels. He had eaten about one-third of the medium flat top when he quit. Within 20 minutes of his first bite, his glucose reading was literally DOUBLE what it was before he started. Threw the rest of it away and had to do multiple correction steps to get his glucose back to recommended levels (including giving a "correcting dose" of insulin to counteract the spike). Receipt showed "Sugar Free." SF was written on the cup rim. But this was obviously NOT truly sugar free. This could have been a potentially dangerous situation, and other diabetics need to be on alert that Buzzles' sugar free snow cones ARE NOT sugar free.
