I went with a traditional Thai massage, and it was exactly what I was hoping for: deep, intentional work with a lot of stretching. She even got up on the table to really lean in and get the pressure where it needed to be. No walking on my back, but honestly, she didn't need to--she got plenty of depth without it. The therapist was very friendly and professional. She took the time upfront to ask about my goals, any health issues, and specific areas of pain, which I always appreciate. She does have a fairly strong accent, so I had to focus a bit more at times, but her English is excellent and it didn't take away from the experience at all. I also want to note how professional she was on a personal level. She shared that she had recently gone through a significant loss, and despite that, she remained fully present, kind, and focused throughout the session. That level of dedication really stood out. The environment was spot on. The waiting area was calm and comfortable with a relaxing video playing, and the massage room itself was just right--soothing music, perfect lighting (not too bright, not too dark), and thankfully not overly perfumed. Pricing was actually lower than I expected, especially for the quality of the massage. Definitely felt like a good value. One note: if you like deep tissue work, this is your place. I specifically asked for deep pressure, and she delivered. It got intense at times--but in the best way. In my opinion, a truly therapeutic massage should hurt a little... the ends justify the means, and in this case, they absolutely did. I was planning to go back in two weeks, but honestly, she did such a good job I didn't feel like I needed to. I'm just now starting to feel due again, so I'll be booking another appointment soon. When she notified me that the 60 minutes were up, I looked at my watch to see that it had barely been a minute or two over 50 minutes. I guess 60 minutes may have passed since I walked in the door. But the first few minutes I was trying to get her out of the room while I changed -- very awkward. As I walked out, she said "tip" several times. She wasn't too thrilled I did not give her a tip.
