I recently joined Crunch after having a membership at Planet Fitness for over a year and going…read moremaybe 4 times ever (oops). My husband raves about Crunch so I figured I'd at least give it a shot. So far I'm very impressed! Bright and inviting atmosphere, free little lockers for your keys, great variety of clean and up-to-date equipment, and impressive amenities for the price of the membership. The best part of Crunch is that their #NoJudgement policy is actually true to real life. EVERY type of person was there just doing their thing -- skinny guys in muscle tees next to the swole guys in muscle tees, older adults in their blue jeans, parkour-ers and ninjas, athletes of all levels working on their gains or just staying in shape post-season. I don't feel like people are staring or judging me getting creative with equipment to do my unconventional, equestrian-specific workout. It's really a cool place. I do wish that they offered more early morning (5-7am) classes for those of us with 9-5s who have to come before work. From what I've seen so far the early class every day is usually either Advanced HIIT which is far past my level of fitness, or yoga which I'm not super into. It would be nice to see more variety. The final thing I want to mention is that the customer service is fantastic. I like to go to places where the employees enjoy being at work; employee morale is really what sets the tone and makes or breaks it for me. I have significant social anxiety but totally felt at ease at Crunch thanks to Claire. Her enthusiasm made me want to be there and confirmed my decision to leave Planet Fitness.

I have never seen a GM so invested in a gym as he was. While I was there I observed him positively interacting with his customers, cleaning and also repairing equipment. The employees staffing the gym seem to shield him from any calls from current or former members. They make it impossible to cancel your membership so don't believe them when they say "its cancelled..." because its not. I've already filed a complaint with the TDL- the Texas agency responsible for overseeing business practices with gyms. I am also going to file a small claims action. Is there anybody else who has been charged recurring fees after they have cancelled? Maybe I can get a class-action going?
