I had such a positive experience during my most recent visit to this Sprouts location in Burbank…read morethat I felt compelled to write a review. From the moment I walked in, the customer service really stood out. I was approached by staff at least three different times, each one kindly asking if I needed help finding anything. It didn't feel forced or overbearing, just genuinely attentive and thoughtful. When I did have a question, I ended up speaking with the store manager, Justus, and he was incredibly kind, patient, and thorough in helping me. You can tell he really cares about both the customers and the store experience. That level of service is rare these days, and it honestly made my whole visit feel easy and enjoyable. It definitely left a lasting impression and makes me look forward to my next visit. Big thank you to the team for going above and beyond.

My Bread of choice is always whole grain. The sandwich is huge and cut in half. For an extra buck you can add chips and a water. Now, if you are in a rush they have pre made sandwiches of all sorts. Those are good too but not as good as a handmade one. Pro-tip they have cool kid lunches. Perfect for a field trip. Sprouts also has a self serve nuts/candy/dried fruits sold by the pound. Lots of organic and good for the soul stuff. I am a fan.

I know I can always rely on my food being fresh at this store. I know all meat and fish is sourced sustainably and is fresh. Sometimes when I feel lazy to cook I love getting their prepped family meals. It's a good value $27-$32 depending on the protein choices and it has soooo much food in it. And if you lucky to snatch one with 50% off coupon then it's a ridiculous price for an amazing meal. Oh and separate note of love goes to all the 50% off coupons for "soon to expire" foods , especially now when prices are skyrocketing. Also if something is ever not fresh, the return process is very easy. Staff mostly seem very nice and ready to help. Meat/fish department guys always ready to give a recommendation on how to cook chosen item if you ask them. There's a nice area where you can sit and eat/drink whether you bought it at the store or you ordered from the bar. I really appreciate having such high quality shop in the area.

When we arrived, the security guided us to complimentary limited time parking, which was great because we only stopped in for smoothies. This location was packed! We looked around for a second and then went to order smoothies. We waited about 10 minutes for them to be prepared. While we did enjoy them, $20+ isn't something we'd like to spend on smoothies often. Nice to experience though. Smoothies: 3.5/5 Service: 4/5 Value: 2/5 Cleanliness: 5/5 Location: 4/5

It is a bit surreal being in a grocery store where the mean/median/mode price of something is 10x what it'd be at a normal shop. There's a parking garage right next to this location, but there was also a good amount of street parking nearby. Staff was very friendly! I got an 8 oz. jar of the Summit Trail Mix, which I really liked! It's not too salty and the dried fruits complimented the almonds so well. Enjoyed it so much that I kinda wish I opted for the bigger jar. Also, on top of the already steep price, there's a $3 bottle deposit. Since it was my first time here, the cashier let me know that you can get your deposit back if you bring the bottles/jars back to the store. After making my trail mix purchase, I got the strawberry glaze smoothie. My smoothie was ready pretty quickly. I'm not a big strawberry-flavor lover, but I really enjoyed this smoothie. It was the perfect refreshing drink for hot weather and walking around. I also felt very fitting and pretentious taking sips of my smoothie while strolling around Melrose. I definitely have to go back next time I'm in LA.. to get my bottle deposit back of course..

I stopped by a few days before Thanksgiving to buy meat for my Assyrian Stew and found the line in the back. I was surprised at how quickly it moved. The meat department in the back has the best cuts of beef, pork, chicken and more. They also have salads, sandwiches and hot food to go. Handy Market has been around longer than I've been alive. It was founded in 1970 and upon entering,…read moreit certainly feels dated but there's something to be said about all the colorful and varied produce that's neatly displayed down its narrow aisles, almost like a Wes Anderson film. Imagine rows of radicchio, rainbow chard, exquisite endive, squash blossoms, sunchokes and artichokes, fennel with their fronds tangled in long red chilies surrounded by pungent herbs like perilla, lovage, tarragon. An extra star just for that. But... My only gripe is their weekly Saturday BBQ. Through the years I have enjoyed both kinds of ribs, the brisket, sausages, turkey and chicken that they cook and smoke right outside in the parking lot. Even if you don't see it, you'll smell it within a couple blocks. I can't think of a better way to promote a bbq business and Handy Market knows it. They're counting on all the new customers who get lured in by the intoxicating scent of grilled meats on live fire to try this sad, sorry excuse that they call BBQ. All the meats are dry, tasteless and overcooked. They do not season any of the meat, not even a lick of salt. They want you to buy their sugary bbq sauce and baste them on the grill. Meaning you still have to finish cooking it at home but it was tasty enough and the price was low so it was worth doing for many years. Lately though, it's been expensive and inedible. The quality of all the meat has become sus and I was sold the driest beef ribs with texture like leather, that they probably dug up from the back of a freezer and a smelly turkey leg that's left over from like, Thanksgiving. My homemade bbq sauce could not save either meat and suffice to say I will never order barbecue from here again. What's happened to you, Handy Mart? I just can't believe you've slipped so far. This is the worst bbq in all of LA and I cannot recommend anyone eating here. Those brave souls who do not heed this cautionary tale cannot say you haven't been warned. Good luck.

Just wanted to send a quick note about Benny, the store manager at Erewhon in Calabasas…read more Our travel AYSO team came down from Northern California for the finals for our community volunteer sponsored soccer organization, and we stopped by to grab drinks for the kids. Benny helped make sure everything was ready right on time, which honestly made a big difference with a bunch of tired players and parents trying to keep things moving between games. What stood out was how easy and positive the whole interaction was. Benny clearly runs a tight ship and the people working there reflect that. Everyone we interacted with was helpful and on top of things. Benny even stepped in to improve the throughput for all smoothies. When someone treats their job like they own the place, that's special. That's shareholder / owner behavior, not staff behavior. It starts with values, with leading and being consistent in following those values. The outcome is culture, and that creates true scale of the vision and every team member adopting the culture. This is actually the first time I've experienced this level of service at a grocery store, so I figured it was worth mentioning. If Benny hired these folks, he's doing something right. Anyway, just wanted it to be known that if you stop by that location, you'll be taken care of. And for what it's worth, I don't usually send notes like this.

We went during lunch time so I'm aware that was part of the parking lot fullness, but the staff had this almost apathetic attitude. I saw a piece of pizza I hadn't seen and wanted to try. A couple employees were having a convo at the counter. I just waited to see how long they were going to stand there. Longer than you'd expect. I mentioned Milo earlier. Rockstar in the cafe, gave us samples, answered questions about things I didn't see. I was told to try the battered portobellos. I guess they didn't have them that day but I appreciated that Milo checked. That was the most pleasant experience and Milo's customer service was aligned with what I've come to expect. Checkout was lacklustre. This is the first store I've been at that had a conveyor belt. I went through twice. The first person seemed like he didn't want to be there. The second I asked about the new membership tiers and she wasn't sure then she was surprised at my level. I got clarification around the program from someone at my store, and she showed me where vip line is. It just wasn't a vibe I've been used to over any of the stores I've been to. Maybe it's calabasas, idk. I can say I went. 8 down, 3 to go. Ya, Erewhon is probably my personality atp. Ah well, there's worse things!
