For the same money as other lesser marinas, I got a pontoon boat that looked showroom new. The last powerboat I rented from another marina looked like it was last rented to the Bad News Bears. The other marinas boat looked like it might not make it across the lake. When I rented from Edinburgh my wife and kids thought I broke the bank to make up for the previous year. Luckily I didn't have to. Take it from a long time lake guy. They're the real deal. Worth every penny. Make your life easier and use Edinburg.

On our first day, they graciously allowed us to drop off our unmotorized kayaks. Inside the bowed workshop slash hanger a seaplane which was someone's pet project. When ask if it was one of the guys, one bark out with a side smirk, "I only fix 'em and there's no way you'd ever see me trying to fly one, so I guess I'd never own one." Behind the Hanger, three tier storage barn, with neatly wrapped boats in storage. Across the main road on an open parcel, guessing 10+ acres, full of other boats similarly wrapped on trailers in storage. The crew was busy prepping as orders arrived for the summer season. We debated a rental if the kayaking began to fizzle - that never happened. They service, store, rent, and sell a mix of water craft.

Very friendly service from the dock workers who clearly know what they're doing. On the plus side, it's a straight line to back your boat into the water. That definitely would make it easy for someone like me who has no dang clue at reversing with a trailer. On the minus side, it's a heck of a steep hill to get your boat onto the trailer and out of the marina. You're going to need all the possible torque to be successful at driving up the hill. At the top, there was a shady spot that made it easy to get all the day's rubbish and coolers out of the boat so it was ready to transport back to the parking. It would have been nice if they had a dumpster or a trash can up there but they don't. We brought the trash with us instead. Fuel's not cheap, so fill up before you get here. BEWARE- LUCKY WE ARE ALIVE We had just picked up our boat…read morefrom Alpin Haus in Amsterdam where it was for repair to both engines and propeller as well as winterizing and summering. After such a HUGE repair they didnt test it in the water before giving it back to us. A clean out port "failed" (they cant explain how or why but just know that its "my fault" as the boat owner for not checking it better, their stories change so much I cant keep up ) causing water to shoot into the boat engine gallons per minute sinking both engines and the back end. I WAS WITH JUST MY TWO SMALL CHILDREN and was sure our boat was going to sink. We had to call 911 and be rescued. When the engines stopped, the water stopped shooting in so fast and we were able to hand pump and use bilge enough to stop sinking until rescue came. Now besides the traumatic experience we also have burned seats from there flairs, two destroyed engines and tons of damage to the clean out port area. Now Alpin Haus has zero accountability and denies that their men could have anything to do with it sinking immediately after picking it up from them. THEY DID NOT PUT THE CLEAN OUT PORT IN PROPERLY. I spoke to Ron Craig (3rd highest guy) about it to try to resolve it and he kicked me and my small children out of Alpin Haus and told me to get a lawyer. I went above him and sent a message to the president and owner asking them to call me to discuss what happened. Looks like the owner won't get involved at all and president Andy Heck won't call me but wrote an email to to say he backs up his men and also refuses to answer any of my questions just repeats they are not responsible because I should have checked better. Alpin Haus negligence and lack of accountability has me so worried they are going to cause something similar for another family and the outcome might not be as good as ours. BEWARE AND SAVE YOUR FAMILY from the headache or worse.
