We were checking out island camping when we hit rocks and unfortunately broke our prop. We immediately called Dockside. They were so responsive and reassuring. We are lunch at Algonquin in Bolton Landing while we waited for a new prop. Turns out, it was more damage than anticipated so we had to get a tow back. Now, you may think that this unfortunate accident would ruin our day, but it didn't. We wished we could have seen more of the lake but what we did see was beautiful and prior to the "incident", it was relaxing. What made things better was the staff. Jesse and Taylor were great with the kids and so nice. When we got back to the marina, the owner was so kind and understanding. Today was a bust for us, but we plan to come back to the area. When we do, we will rent from Dockside for sure. Please note: they are in Hague on Lake George NOT in Lake George Village. If north on the lake or near, rent at Dockside. This side of the lake is calmer, less crowded and beautiful.

He has always been super responsive to our group, and his knowledge of the area is extensive. We docked at his marina and stayed overnight at Big G's Pub airbnb just up the block. Lynn was super-accommodating. Ten of us descended on his Pub for a late dinner, and despite being short on help at that late hour, Lynn did not disappoint. Wings, burgers, steaks, fries, were all fresh, hot and delicious. Jim at the bar keep our drinks cold and full. We enjoyed the classic rock music and playing pool, but most of all we enjoyed chatting with Lynn and hearing of his exploits and adventures. Two of our ski's broke down on our way to Whitehall, so we left them at a marina on our way up. Lynn called us the next day to see if we were able to pick them up or if we needed help. If you are in the area, stop by for a beer, a bite and a chat with Lynn, absolutely one of the nicest guys we have ever met. The boat pavilion, next to the docks, where the catered dinner was located, was a great space. The collection of boats of the various members, was quite interesting. It really is a truly hidden gem. My only issue was the extremely steep walkway down to the docks. Later learned a much easier path upon leaving. Signage could have helped with that. One near the parking lot should state "The Courageous can follow this path", with another, "The Less Courageous must take this path". All in all, a very quaint boating club.
