This is a really lovely park... plenty of open space for playing games on the grass, getting some…read moresun, and also a pavilion or two for larger groups that want some cover & picnic tables. in the lower area, there's a very short little pathway by the water... there were kids playing and exploring the water, and someone else was fly fishing. On the upper portion of the park is the actual walking trail, which is a really well worn out path and very easy to walk (though I wouldn't consider it accessible to those in wheelchairs, etc). There isn't really anything to *see* at the end... it just kind of ends... but then you turn around and walk back. Honestly, my dog was more than happy to explore the entirety either way. :) I do have to remove one star because their bathroom facilities aren't great. At the time of my visit, the women's restroom was completely clogged - and the men's room was basically a single stall. :-/ TL;DR Really enjoyable park and I'll definitely be back in the future.

After you descend a very steep hill, you can walk along the riverbed and it beaches, and it's well-maintained pathways and find yourself a good spot to fish or just enjoy nature. Walk down as far as the dam and the highly oxygenated water makes for a wonderful fish spawning environment and keeps the creek stocked and the fishermen happy. Walk off the beaten path, want to steep, wooded hills or if it's warm enough, walk, right in the creek itself. And then to get back to your car you have to go up that very steep hill. My wife and I enjoy this place very much.

The standout for me was this amazing topographic map where you move the sand and it updates the contour lines live. I wish I had that when learning maps. They also run a bunch of events... I've done a luminary walk and an owl prowl, plus there are eagle nest outings and birding stuff. The gift shop is small but nice. Overall, if you're looking for a good nature outing, this(and the other sites they manage are great. Swallow Hollow is my favorite trail, but the whole area is awesome.

Medina Falls is visible from the Erie Canal Heritage Trail. The address provided in this listing…read morebrings you to a small gravel parking area to enter the trail. If you turn right, Medina Falls is just a short way down on the right, you'll hear it right away. From this vantage point, you're viewing the falls from above, from a bit of a distance. We could see many kayakers in the Old Orchard Creek itself near the falls. So there are definitely other access points to get closer to the falls, but it is still a very nice view from here. Plus you're on the Erie Canal Heritage Trail, so you can continue to stroll along the canalside for as long as you'd like. One very unique thing about seeing Medina Falls and the canal from this very spot is that Old Orchard Creek and the Erie Canal intersect near the top of the falls, but the waters do NOT actually touch each other. SUCH WONDERFULLY WEIRD ENGINEERING!! :-D What I mean is the Erie Canal itself passes over the creek. The creek flows underneath the cement canal basin to the falls, but the waterways do not actually flow together. You can stand at the point over top both, and marvel at this curious feat. You've just got to see it; it really must be a unique feature that is not typical in many other places, I would imagine. If you're looking for a nature activity with some strolling, some history, and a waterfall feature, starting here at Medina Falls would make for a fun adventure, for sure. :-D

We have stayed there at times when dock hands were sent out to assist us tie up upon our arrival and we have stayed there at times when they have not. Facilities our clean. They offer wash room facilities and laundry facilities (fees apply). Rates to stay are competitive with other marinas along the Canadian shoreline. Power and fresh water at the slips. Staff are friendly and helpful. Fuel / full service station on location. WiFi available at the slips. Shops, restaurants, and a large beach all within walking distance of the marina. Area also offers a farmer's market (check with chamber of commerce for schedule) and often times free festivals and outdoor - live entertainment. We would return to this marina again.
