Unless you have young ones or are only medium interested in fishing I would definitely recommend the 6 or 8 hr, especially if you want to catch and keep the max allowable number of fish. We had four people in our group which worked out really well. Captain Joe is knowledgeable and friendly. We had a good time hanging out and he set us up for fishing success. His boat had super nifty radar equipment so you can see where groups of fish are in the water and he has a good read on lake Ontario and where to go, water temp, etc. We went home with some sizable fish and quite the mix, we caught king salmon, coho salmon, rainbow trout and steelhead trout. Strongly recommend!! We already booked a other trip!

The only downside was that there was no public washroom that was open at the time of our visit. There was a facility being used by the YMCA and while there were still some counselors around after the camps let out, they refused to let us in to use the washrooms which I thought was very odd. All in all, the visit to this quiet park was enjoyable and fun for all of us. I look forward to our next fishing outing soon!

There is a nice, clean restroom building as well as pavilions for rental and a pond for fishing. Semi-recently a disc golf course was added, which I'm not a fan of because they cut down a decent amount of the front part of woods and it takes away from the experience in nature. But, I suppose it's a good way to bring more people to the park. The hiking trails can be a bit rooty, rocky and muddy in parts, so best to pay attention to your footing. I don't mind it because it makes the hike more challenging. There are up and down hills as well as a suspension bridge. The trails are marked with different colors. I also like that it's not easy to get lost here since I have a pretty bad sense of direction. Also, I've seen birds, deer, chipmunks, squirrels and snakes here. The Boat Comfortable for our family of four, Captain Carl and his skipper (could probably fit 2 to 3 more people and still would've been comfortable). Finding the Fish I only done a handful of charters in my life but the biggest fear is always will these guys be able to find enough fish to justify paying someone else to take us fishing. Captain Carl has an uncanny intuition to find the fish and a ridiculous amount of technology and equipment he's making use of both the science and art of fishing. Overall Experience Personally I go fishing 3-10 times a year so I want action and love learning from masters like Captain Carl. My wife and kids are more landlubbers and they loved that the boat was nice, well maintained and comfortable. We're already talking about the next trip with Dublin Up. Perfect fishing trip with no headaches and just a lot of fish catching.

Not that I am a big fisherman by any extent, but these were the best times I have EVER had fishing. There were three of us on each trip (plus Matt) and caught between 4 and 8 mature Salmon weighting between 15 and 26 pounds. Catching one of these big fish is really exciting - let me tell you. They fight back and they are tough to land. And, Captain Matt knows how to catch fish. He knows where to look, what bait to use, what depth to set the lines at, and when to pull them out. He LOVES to fish (to give you an idea, he fishes on his day off), and this makes him an excellent Captain and teacher. He has won numerous awards and derbys, and knows how to catch the other species of Lake and River fish as well. If you are on one of his Charters, he will be fully engaged at all times, and will expect the same level of engagement back from you. He really cares about making sure you have a great time on his boat, and will do everything possible to see that you have plenty of fish to bring home. If you are looking for a fishing charter out of the Youngstown/Lewistown areas, Wet Net Charters definitely the company to choose.

I flew in from Calgary to Toronto. It was my dad's 70th birthday celebration. He booked a two day trip,4 months prior,a Sunday and Monday with these guys. He met them at a sporting show. We flew in from across Canada (Calgary, Edmonton and Montreal) On Wednesday my dad talked to the guy and he said it was all a go. I arrived in Toronto on the Saturday only to get a call to say they were cancelling. They were going to be in a tournament instead. WHAT! SO I'm in Toronto, my family in Montreal, and nowhere to go. we texted and talked back and forth (the other three where about to leave that same Saturday morning) decided that we would just cancel the trip. We were disappointed beyond belief. Cancelling 24 hours prior to going and a 7 hour drive from Montreal was too far for a one day trip for my 70 year old dad. I lost $1000. My cousin too. This PERSON decided to keep the down payment of $400 because he got screwed out of Monday (oh yeah, he still said he was good for Monday.... but how could we trust him..... he said the same thing earlier on that week) he also got vulgar when I asked for the money back. It was one of our most memorable fishing trips to date!! We had four fishermen on our charter out of Kent, NY. Captain Bob - referred to as "Reel Bob" - also owns a fishing cottage within walking distance to the dock. We were luckily able to rent the cottage for our fishing trip. We were aware of the fact that we were not fishing in optimal weather conditions on this trip. The winds were high and some captains were delaying (or canceling) their charters. Captain Bob gathered weather information, was in constant contact with the other captains, and provided us with up-to-date information. We ultimately decided to fish both days. The lake was very choppy with average waves in the 4 to 6 foot range. We were hitting salmon within a half an hour of arriving at our first destination! Captain Bob knew the best spots for fish out in the lake. He kept us off-shore even though other captains were moving closer to shore. We brought in more fish than any other charter during those two days!! I felt safe and comfortable on the boat... and Captain Bob worked his tail off for us. During an 8-hour fishing trip there are bound to be lulls - that's when your captain's personality is most important. I don't remember the last time we laughed so hard! We have stayed in numerous houses/cottages in this area over the past 5 years or so and NONE of them compared to Captain Bob's cottage!! It was homey, and warm, and spacious, and lovely!! When we arrived Captain Bob had the cottage ready for us. We unlocked the door and stepped into a cathedral ceilinged living room with a sports channel programmed on the TV (one of our Ohio teams)! The ceiling fan was slowly churning up the smell of the lake through a few open windows. I thought, "this is a honeymoon get-away"! There were several couches and recliners in the living room graced by coffee tables. The main room was open to the eat-in kitchen. I was amazed to find a full-size refrigerator, stove, toaster oven, microwave and coffee maker. The kitchen was fully stocked with coffee and water, fresh kitchen towels, paper towels, zip-loc baggies, and candles. Captain Bob's wife, Lisa, takes great care in maintaining the beauty of their cottage. The Songins understand that their charters aren't solely "men only". I can personally attest that, although I love fishing on Lake Ontario, I love the comfort and beauty and romance of the lake when we return from a day on the boat. Great trip, great fish, great memories... thank you Reel Excitement!
