Should be called Fake Bar! I used to be a regular here years ago and decided to return because I have very fond memories here. When you walk up to the "Bar" there are no bar stools to sit down. So whatever, it was kinda slow so I grabbed a nearby by high top stool from a nearby table and dragged it over. The bartender immediately berated me and told me how no one is allowed to sit at the bar ever because sometimes they get busy and they need room for folks to walk up. After being shocked by this I was like whatever and moved my stool back to the table and ordered a burger and fries. After waiting too long for the food, I quickly realized that if I wanted to sit alone in a restaurant and eat a sub-par burger and fries, I could of just gone to any fast food restaurant. I mean the whole reason to go to a bar is to enjoy camaraderie with your fellow bar patrons, or at the very least chitchat with your bartender. You get none of that atmosphere here! it's almost like some manager implemented this policy during Covid, and they never returned to normal, all these years later. Maybe they should change the name to the Reel Snack Shack or something like that because they are definitely not a BAR! read more

Very cool hotel\resort bar overlooking the water and right between the pool and the lawn activities. Staff was very friendly, prices are typical of any resort bar, the food wasn't bad (I wouldn't say it's great by any means) but again good for a resort bar right on property so you don't have to go anywhere. When we weren't many groups with kids, I can't see it changing too much until maybe later in the evening however we were there on Wednesday and they close at 9 PM. Keep that in mind if you're going outside of the weekend. read more

What a find! On the sand, on the water, at a resort, and on the Charleston Water Taxi route. We visited for the first time Memorial Day Weekend and had an excellent experience. The inside bar is cozy with a multiple seating areas - traditional bar, high tops, regular tables, and a couch or two and an oversized chair. The bar spills onto a patio with tables that then extends into a waterfront sandy area and a couple of piers that look directly into the Charleston Harbor, views of the USS Yorktown, and great sights of downtown Charleston. They offer frozen drinks, beer, cocktails, and wine + typical bar snacks and entrees. The bar was particularly busy during the holiday weekend we visited and the staff was super attentive and happy. My most recent few experiences have been less than desirable. One of the bartenders (been here for a while) is particularly rude. They have done away with the sauce that comes on the burger. While I mentioned it to Scott at one point, he confirmed they just took that off their burger ( like, within the last few months), but I could ask for a side of the sauce. So the next time I was in, I asked for the side of sauce, and Scott said, "I have no idea what you are talking about". Listen, the fries suck, because they come out cold. The burger was decent, with the sauce. The salad subbed for fries is 90% lettuce, so we just go with the burger. Just a plain burger for $15?!? Then, the beer taps were down... at this point, I just had to leave because Scott was a jerk and I was not paying for a $15 plain burger again. This place is in a prime location. My feedback to management is to figure out your kitchen and to figure out your bartenders. Well, really, just one. read more

Error no1-No waitress for the tables outside. Food took way too long. Runners bring the food on open trays- so the food is cold when it make it to the table. Best kept secret of Mt Pleasant. As a local, I love biking over to Patriots Point and coming here. Reel Bar is right on the harbor and serves extremely strong and good tiki drinks, along with an impressive menu. This is a traditional, nautical bar with fantastic cocktails, an amazing view of the water and a "resort like" atmosphere. Can't recommend this place enough: it's not just for tourists or folks staying at the resort! read more

Solid spot to grab a beer and burger. The bartenders are usually pretty friendly. Location is convenient to the marina, and it is never "packed". Busy? Yes. But not packed. We usually get the burger, which is excellent. However, the fries are always cold and limp. So we sub out the fries for a side salad, and all is well in the world again. Yes... the back patio is dog-friendly. (Hotel is NOT dog friendly, but Reel bar out back is :)! ). We'll be back for sure! read more

Honestly I'm just rating 5 star to counter Kate R's stupid, uncalled for 1 star review that makes no sense. We had a good experience and the service was great. You're eating at a gated in resort and getting a bacon cheese burger with fries for $15 so that is acceptable. The fries were actually top notch. Not sure again what she's complaining about. We stayed at this hotel last week for a long weekend getaway. We arrived late and in need of sustenance. We dragged ourselves to the Reel Bar and found JD. He suggested his own signature drink and the Lo-Fi local brew. I don't usually do mixed drinks, but believe the husband and I came back to JD for his signature drink non stop. By far my favorite place in Charleston. Has the best view you could ever find anywhere where I have visited. Drinks are reasonably priced for the view. And the service is outstanding. Sitting next to the Ravenel bridge and the Yorktown you will be blown away by the views. Sitting outside you see the sea containers come by and the soft sand out on the beach is a must to walk around on. Located at a marina it's fun to go down the docks and see the yachts that are docked there. If you go there see a bartender named Scottie and he will take extra good care of you!! read more

10/12/18 Nice place for some drinks and conversation with friends and family. The staff is great and very friendly. The only drawback I found was a woman manager who seemed to be rather nasty to staff and some patrons, without having the respect or courage to approach said patrons herself, but rather to lay that responsibly on her subordinates. read more

Had lunch today at this highly recommend restaurant and was very disappointed. The food might have been good if it had been served while it was hot. Every plate was cold and there's not much worse than cold limp fries. I could see no reason for such poor service because the restaurant wasn't busy. read more
