His insight was helpful. I decided on a black angel fish. I asked Christopher how much they cost. He said $12.99. He then realized that he had misspoke as the black ones are 19.99. He said he would honor the $12.99 and I really appreciated that. They have lots of pets supplies, reptiles & fish, rabbits & Guinea pigs, crickets & rodents, dog and cat food, even vaccines! The only mark I would give against a perfect review is that it smelled like smoke. Not real strong but definitely present. Even still, I am happy to have found a nearby pet store. I will definitely be coming back for pet needs. I'm also thrilled to support a family owned, black owned business.

The store was pretty large, in my opinion and FILLED with anything you could imagine that you'd need for your pet. They have hand sanitizer available right at the entrance for COVID, along with a statement on the door that they require masks upon entering as well. The left side of the store has plenty of dog food, toys, clothing, and gifts. The right side has everything for cats such as huts (average price of $80), natural toys, leashes, food, raw diet food, treat toppers, and clothing. I'm getting more in depth with the cat side since we only have a cat and were shopping on that side only. The woman, who I assume is the owner, was EXTREMELY nice with helping us find the perfect food for our Bengal. She took her time explaining everything to us in great detail, and never once rushed us. She really made us feel like a valued customer! The amount of information she knew about the different products of food they sell blew.. our.. minds. The information she was giving us ranged from where it came from, what the benefits were, what fit our cat the most, how the brand makes their food.... everything! She knew her stuff, that's for sure! She was extremely helpful and wanted to make sure we were completely satisfied, and never once tried to pressure us into buying anything. She was very open minded and positive with how she interacted with us! The prices are very reasonable. They are fully stocked with every item they sell. They do some small discounts if you buy in bulk. It's extremely organized with how they have the layouts of their products throughout the store. You'll definitely walk out of this store with something in your hand. It looked like they were even doing a photo shoot with Santa and your pet in a closed in room as well! I'm overall VERY impressed with our whole experience. We will definitely be coming back and supporting this business. Some are larger and have a wider inventory, and some are not as large. The thing that differs though is when you find sales or closeouts. Plus, you will occasionally find different offerings at some stores. This location, like all the others, was well-stocked, clean, bright, and organized. The employees were all friendly and everyone we saw greeted us and asked if they could help. We grabbed some small farm animal toys for our granddaughter. I am sad to say I will not be returning to Paws on Cherry. I have been taking our Aussie here for…read moreseveral months since we moved to the area. They have always done a nice job. However , since I started here it seems they have a turnover in help and now seem to clearly be understaffed. I was told to drop him off at 8:00 am. He was there for over 6 hours before I was called to pick him up. I was very unhappy and told her this was unacceptable. I had told the owner from the beginning I did not want him kept crated more than needed. If they are taking so many dogs that it takes them this long to get them complete, they clearly should be timing the drop offs so they are not having to crate them over this long of a period. I have never had my dogs in groomers more than 3 1/2-4 hours tops! Her answer was that there were only 2 of them working that day. Clearly they had more than they could handle in a timely manner. I would have preferred to be called and told they were shorthanded and I would have gladly rescheduled. Also I tried numerous times to call when time was ticking by, and they had no one to answer the call. Sorry to say, I feel their business practices have much to be worked out. If time is not a problem for you or your pet, then maybe this is the place for you.
