I've had a great experience with Triad Reef Critters now Triad Aquatic Critters over the years…read more They handled moving my entire reef tank from one house to another, and anyone in the hobby knows that's no small task. During the move, they noticed my plumbing setup wasn't ideal and completely redid it, which has been a huge improvement. Unfortunately, I did lose three fish during the move, but they stood behind their work and gave me a livestock credit without any hassle. That level of customer service says a lot. Their prices seem to be right in line with other local fish stores. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that right before they relocated, I purchased a few replacement fish and lost two of them within a week while they were in my quarantine tank. To be fair, losses can happen with any fish store, and that's just part of the reefing hobby. What has always stood out to me is how informative, honest, and courteous the staff is. They're willing to answer questions, offer advice, and genuinely help hobbyists succeed. I haven't had a chance to visit their new location yet, but I definitely plan to soon. Overall, I'd recommend Triad aquatic Critters to anyone in the reefing community looking for knowledgeable service and a store that stands behind its customers.

Also, it was somewhere I had never been and out of state. I took a chance, and it paid off. I hadn't had much luck with anemones and people kept telling me that they weren't healthy when I got them (from our LFS.) That must have been it! This rainbow bubble tip anemone is incredible! Nice, fat, healthy... great color and movement. Tentacles are nice and healthy, not stringy. Nicely packed and shipped! If I'm ever in Raleigh, NC., I will go (in person) to thank them! Great place! I even asked if they were going to move to a larger location and the owner mentioned, he's been looking, but hasn't found the right one yet. I had a very disappointing experience with Aqua World…read more Before making the trip, I spoke with them over the phone and clearly explained the size of the fish I was bringing -- approximately one foot each. We agreed on a trade based on that information. I then drove about two hours to the shop. When I arrived, they placed the fish in their tank and then told me they were "too big" for their system. This was confusing because I had already been very clear about their size during our phone conversation. After driving such a long distance, it was frustrating to have them change their position. The fish were slightly stressed from transport, which is normal after a two-hour drive, but they were healthy. I was told they "weren't happy with the way they looked," and no trade was offered at all. Not even a partial trade. Overall, it felt like a waste of time and gas, especially after we had already discussed and agreed on the details beforehand. I just wish they had honored their word or at least tried to work something out. Very disappointing experience.
