I love spending time at the boardwalk now that it's open and it's something to do with my family. But holy ass if you can't scoop out a full size scoop out of the bucket in one try don't open a creamery. For one it was so hard to watch. The ice cream is supposed to be a scoop that's velvety and easily placed into a cup or cone as a choice. To see people get their first lick in and have it be on the floor within seconds is horrendous. It would crumble at the touch. It was not soft or creamy. It was overly frozen. It was given "freezer burn" vibes and taste. It would not scoop out of the bucket you had your employees give up after two scrapes and tried to hand me a 20% full cup of crumbled ice cream pieces and was still under the impression like I was going to pay for that? No! That's hilarious to me actually because the amount of patience I had standing in line knowing I should have walked out was purely on me. 5$ per kiddo scoop? Oblivious. Creameries around my house don't charge over 2.50 for kiddo scoop and 5.50 for a single school. It's cute in there but the experience of this day has ruined my ability to think of coming back.

I was actually supposed to meet my nephew at the new location in Eagle. It's actually closer to us but my sweet nephew got confused and headed down to the downtown location. No problem, I made my way downtown to meet my baby for some aunty/nephew time. It's been a few months since I have been in. The shop is a cute as ever. Merch is now available. The pink t shirt they have available was calling my name! It's the perfect shade of pink and sooooo soft. I will have to come back and really check out the merch. My nephew had already been waiting for me to arrive. He's ready for his ice cream! I noticed that they had pistachio as a flavor at the Eagle location. Kinda bummed that it wasn't available here but sweet cream and chocolate will always be a winning combo here. So today I grabbed a kiddie swirl. My nephew grabbed the medium cup with sweet cream, cherry sauce and brownies. Our ice cream was fantastic. My nephew polished off his big cup. Not gonna lie, all the extras he added made his cup look sooooooo good! I as well polished off mine. Can't leave any behind. We got to hang out with the other customers that were enjoying their treats. It makes me heart so happy seeing all these folks come and support a small local business. It's the best! Their parking lot has two spots, that's it! The only parking is on the street...kinda, because there were signs all over that said you had to have a permit, so my husband circled around the block while I got our ice cream. I told the gal at the counter about the parking situation, not that she could do anything about it, but she did say you can ignore the signs in the evening and park anywhere . I guess it's more enforced during work hours. If I lived in the north end I would come back and try their other flavors but I don't so it's probably a one and done for me. I don't know what they feed them cows in Idaho, but it should be standard for all cows across America! Their ice cream is soooo good! I appreciate anything chocolate and this one didn't disappoint! I got it with my favorite chocolate sprinkles on a waffle cone. It's as yummy as they come! (Note to Stella: If you had chocolate dipped waffle cones, I'd pay extra! :) ) We decided to eat in the store and the 5-year old in me came out! Sprinkles fell on the floor - sharing with friends maybe resulted in some ice cream on the floor (okay there was cream on the floor) and generally we made a trail of ice cream, crumbs and sprinkles from the aback to front of the restaurant. Walking in feels like stepping into a small-town, old-fashioned family candy store. Their dark chocolate caramels are some of my favorites, and the malts are always delicious. The staff is consistently kind and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. While the ice cream can be a little icier and not quite as creamy as some of our other favorite spots in town, we still love coming here. Sitting under the big trees with ice cream in hand is part of the charm, and it keeps us coming back to sit on the patio with our ice cream.
