Discovered a leak in a hot water line at 7:15 this morning. Called Reed and Son plumbing for a repair. By 9:15, Mike and Nicholas had replaced the pipe and Im back to getting my routine activities done for the rest of the day. Exceptional service at a reasonable price. They showed up the day I called, and the job was performed quickly and well. The price was excessive. $656 to replace 3 water supply valves. It took one hour and maybe $50 in parts, retail. Next time I'll do it myself. read more

I'm not sure why Reed and Son's doesn't have more reviews!!! WELL DESERVED 5 stars from me. I've used their services twice and have had great experiences. They are prompt, efficient, and reliable. They do a wonderful job explaining how things work and provide you with the best options. A few years ago, they fixed a low water pressure issue I had. On top of fixing it, Frank (and Joe) provided me with a ton of useful information/recommendations about the pipes, valves, sump pump, etc. This time, they replaced my 15-yo water heater. They were able to come the next morning with an estimate and replaced the entire thing all in the same morning for a reasonable price. I would recommend their services to anyone!!!!! read more

Not sure what star to give them as I did not get their service. I called them to get a quote to replace my water heater to hybrid. They said they arent taking new customers in my zip-code. I thought it was very weird as its one time installation and they did my neighbors replacement last year. They must be doing very well that they have to reject customers so thats a good. However first time i had experience a business reject one-time type install service do found it a little odd. read more

Early yesterday morning I found a small stream of water coming from my failing pressure tank. I am a DIYer in all things but realized the time element was too much a factor here. I called Reed whom I had never done business with before. Said they would be there between 12 and 2, and two young but experienced guys were there at 12. They were gone at 2, and not only efficiently and ably replaced the 30 yo tank but also fixed a second difficult leaking supply pipe that I had put off for years. And not only was the situation resolved but a low pressure condition to several locations in the house we had endured for years was also fixed with a new regulator. I had a leaking water heater that just ran out of warranty from another local plumbing company. I called Reed and Son's around 2:30 pm and had appointment for the next day at noon. Chad and Gary arrived on time and stated the obvious, another bad tank. With Carroll County water, I replace a water tank every 6 years or so and the pricing has went up dramatically since my last tank. Water treatment is not an option for us at this time. The tech's suggested a Rheem Marathon tank that will not rust !!!!! A bit pricey at first but with lifetime manufacture warranty that will work out in the long run. Not only giving me the options that were available, they both took the time to explain why this was continually happening and a viable fix. Why didn't the last plumber that has replaced a least 6 tanks over the years suggest this solution? I had an installed tank, removal of old tank and cleaned area within hours. I will be using Reed and Son's in the future and would recommend them. Chad and Gary did a professional job. read more

Contacted company in October 2023 regarding installing a fire bowl on side of pool. The gas line and column was already built. Just need valve installed and bowl hooked up to line. The gentlemen they sent out were very professional. Unfortunately, that was the only positive. After signing the estimate invoice, I was told the project would be completed in within a couple weeks. A couple weeks went by and never heard from them. I called and was told they were obtaining the permit the next day and they would call to schedule the install. Weeks went by again so I sent company an email looking g to see when the project would be scheduled. No response. Due to the lack of response, I decided to move on. Contacted a different company and within a week the project was completed. Pretty disappointed with the lack of contact from this company. read more

I bought a foreclosed condo that was empty for many years. In order to get the appraisal I had to pay to get the water turned on. The heat works with hot water. When the system was filled there were a few leaks. They were taken care of and the kitchen faucet replaced. They did a good job but I was surprised at the amount of the bill. More than I expected, just over 4 figures before I owned the condo. I have had to have another plumber come in after I moved in. He depressurized the system, fixed the leak and depressurized it. Called Patrick on a Saturday at 4 pm due to a bathroom shower renovation to fix a leak by my husband gone bad... they came out with in two hours were very prompt and educated and charged a very fair rate. Even educated us on what to do if the problem occurred again and where we (my husband I take no blame) went wrong. Can't say enough about how clean and quick they worked! Highly recommend!! Fast, professional and top quality. We had a toilet ring fail on a toilet. They came out within an hour. They had all the equipment they needed to do the job and wore plastic foot coverings in the house. They removed the wax ring, cleaned the floor and old caulking, replaced the wax ring, recaulked and then cleaned up the area. They were in and out in less than an hour. Definitely worth the business. We hired Reed and Son to handle some plumbing related to our master bath remodel in Aug 2019. We woke up Sunday morning to a major leak coming from a sharkbite the technician used to connect two pipes under our tub. There was extensive damage to our living room ceiling and we cannot get to the pipes because they are behind the bathroom tile. Meaning we have to demo our brand new bathroom to address this issue. We contacted the company first thing Monday morning and they sent a technician out immediately. The technician confirmed that the leak was coming from the sharkbite and admitted he was not sure why the previous technician would have used a sharkbite for our situation. He seemed confident that the owner would be willing to work with us to fix this issue. He was very kind, courteous and sympathetic. Unfortunately, the owner said the leak is outside of their 1 year warranty and therefore would not offer any reprieve for the damage caused by an obvious shortcut his technician took at great risk to us. He even said they would charge us to fix the actual leak. Although they have good reviews from other customers, please be extra careful with this company and watch over their work and choices. You expect to be able to trust a plumber to make responsible choices since they are supposed to be the experts. We are devastated to be dealing with this only a little over a year after our expensive bathroom remodel. read more
