After a week in the redwoods and river floating, my 10 year old said his favorite part of his vacation was riding in the tow truck with Ryan. That's the only review you need. But I'll keep going. Redwood towing was the absolute bright spot out of a week from hell. The entire company demonstrated that they care about who they are towing, not just what they are towing. We were rented a faulty RV and needed tow services twice during the week. The first time we needed a tow, we tried 10+ companies and they all said they couldn't. My family of four was stranded in a gas station parking lot. Instead of saying no, Ryan said he'd need to get an entirely different vehicle but he could do it. Despite it being midnight when he dropped us off, he took the time to make sure we were safe and level. In this entire ordeal he was the first person to ask about our family. Two days later we needed a long haul tow when we were officially forced to end our vacation early. Redwood towing was still the only company able to do the job. I was honestly so relieved to see Ryan again. We have an autistic son and both Ryan and Dara at the office were so helpful as we made transportation plans for our entire family. They showed such kindness and thoughtfulness. I hope you never need a tow, but if you do, I truly hope you get to meet Ryan!! I've taken my truck here twice and both times it has been a complete joke. The first time they installed the exhaust in a place where it would get crushed when I drove down the road and the second time his mechanic lied to my wife about replacing the front end seals so I got a half repaired vehicle. Despite being nearly a month out in appointments they squeezed me in for a quick fix just before Halloween! Their cost was 200$ cheaper then the Subaru dealership in eureka. I'm only giving them a four str rating because after they repaired my car I started getting a battery drain, but this could be coincidental ad they're looking at it for free. I Highly recommend Redwood Towing and Repair. My suburban's fuel pump died on Hwy 101 just south of Redway, CA. Was told 2-3 hour wait, but they were there in 20 minutes with a flatbed. Diagnosed the fuel problem the very next day, ordered parts, and had my vehicle back on 3rd day. They were completely booked for 2 weeks when I was first towed in, but they fit us in, and accommodated my partner's need to pick it up the following Tuesday. I work with Cruise America, we have over 5,000 RVs on the road. We had one of our customers hada blowout literally 2 miles from their shop. This is the 4th time we have an incident and they're the first we call. EVERY SINGLE TIME we call we get the following response. "Redwood towing please hold". Longest I've waited is about 40 minutes. Company is now placed on a no call list for Cruise America entirely, even if they're the only option, we won't call them for business. read more

I had the displeasure of having redwood tow unlock my car! The owner came on the lockout call! He was told my car had window tint and he proceeded to try the first tool without rubber bumper on tip, 2nd tool had bumper on end with no success then onto 3rd tool and he put bumper on the tip and door opened! When he left I noticed he scratched my tint! I went to his shop talked to a woman who called the owner who LIED to her saying he used a single tool and they didn't pay! Don't trust redwood tow! After spending two hours on a dark, isolated section of the 101 with a non repairable blown tire, and an unsuccessful attempt of any help by our auto insurance road side assistance, we found Redwood Towing Service. I was shocked they even answered our call because the hours shown on yelp stated they were currently closed. Luckily, they are a 24 HOUR TOWING SERVICE . I don't recall the service specialists name, but he was the kindest gentleman. In fact, everyone from this area was extremely helpful & kind! But I digress. This gentleman dropped two of us off at a hotel, and then drove my husband to Redway Tire Center to drop off our car (to avoid a 2nd tow charge) for tire repair the next morning. It was about 2:30 in the morning when he kindly dropped my husband off at the hotel. But wait, the excellent service did not end there. Our towing service specialist called us the following morning to see if we needed a ride to the tire center. Yep! He knew we were stranded without a car, so he thought he would check in on us and offer a ride because the walk to the tire center was 2.5 miles. This company hires GOOD & HONEST folks. Very bad service! Never deal with them! We agreed on towing for my 53 footer trailer (need to tow it for about 10 miles on smaller truck due to road restriction in Eureka,CA area) They say that will do that for me and will be able to take a payment via cash/ credit card/ T-check or com-check but when they did they job they say that will only take cash. My driver don`t have any cash on him so Redwood Tow driver just turn over and RUN AWAY WITH MY TRAILER! When i call them back they state that my bill will be $100 more... I told this guys that i will call police if they don`t give me my trailer back (AGAIN - I'M NOT REFUSING TO PAY !!! I keep asking them to take my payment !!!) . They told me if i call police they will only give me my trailer next day and charge me $1000 for storage fee. I don't have a time for all that BS and just pay them $375 instead of $200 because i where late on my delivery appointment. And guess what? Yes they take a T-Check payment ! Really bad company! Triple A dispatched one of redways tow drivers and it completely failed. I went to use the restroom and in between that time the driver came and left. He called the facility that i was waiting in and where my car was parked. The lady at the front desk answered and told him I was inside. And continued to try to speak to him. She said he seemed completely interested in anything she was telling him and said he ignored her. He never got out of his car and tried to connect with me. When I came out, at this time he was gone I called back triple a and they said that he reported that my registration was expired so he would not tow my vehicle. My vehicle is registered until next year September. I can no longer be towed through this company because of what he has reported. In an already stressful situation this really has brought me down. And just to know that he was rude to the lady that tried to speak to him(who has been so kind to me throughout this whole process), totally ignoring her is ridiculous and flat out rude. My husband and i were in Garberville recently, inadvertently the keys became locked in trunk which locked then the entire vehicle. They did get vehicle unlocked but not trunk ( some form of security which makes NO sense) The long of it car had to be towed to Eureka and another rental picked up. THIS was a major hassel through our alamo lease, but due to Richards perseverance and straight up compassion for us, they, REDWOOD TOWING, got us our rental and delivered it to the hotel. I had a starter go out on a Harley touring bike. I called the closest dealer (in Eureka), who recommended Redwood and another service. The other service quoted me $325 for a flatbed, Redwood offered a motorcycle trailer transport for $525. I chose Redwood, as I was uncomfortable with using a flatbed. Redwood's sales agent told me that the driver would get the trailer and necessary tie-downs and be along in 30-45 minutes. Twenty minutes later, he arrived - with a flatbed and no trailer. He told me that nobody told him to bring a trailer. He left in a huff when I declined to settle for a flatbed. I called the office, and was told I needed to speak to the sales agent who booked the service. After a few minutes on hold, another driver came on the line and told me that I'd need 3-6 strong guys to load the motorcycle on a motorcycle trailer. At that point, I was done with being lied to. I called U-Haul in Eureka and rented a pickup and a large motorcycle trailer. I bought two tie-downs from them, and my total cost was $185 including the fuel. My 130-lb wife and I easily loaded the bike and delivered it to the dealer. This is the first negative rating I've ever given a business on ANY site - but it's by far the worst service I've ever received. If they didn't want to do the job at a premium price, they should have simply said so. Instead, they promised steak and delivered bologna, at a steak price, and acted like I was stupid. read more
