I had some water in my wall and my insurance company sent them over. They were supposed to arrive in the afternoon but conveniently didn't arrive until 5 pm so that they could bill as after hours. The technician assessed the area and said that it didn't even read high enough on his meter to qualify as water damage but he would set up a dehumidifier and fan anyway. I told him it wasn't necessary but he said he was going to leave it anyway. He intimidated me into having the equipment. I disconnected it as soon as they left and put them in my garage. First thing the following morning I requested that they pick up the equipment. I was told they would be right over but it took several hours. When they arrived I opened my garage door, they loaded it up and were gone in under 10 minutes. They charged to move furniture (there was none to move), they charged to set up equipment (that I didn't want), they charged to take down equipment (that I took down), and they charged for 24 hours of rental on said equipment. The total was $425. Now they're liening my house because we disputed the charges. We offered to pay partial. Do not trust them. Very disreputable and shady business practices.

These rooms and their contents could have been protected, and the damage avoided, had DH hung 4'x9' sheets of plastic over the doorways of the rooms before grinding. However, as a result of DH's negligence, dust now hides in every crack and crevice of our house and personal belongings and is stirred up each time the HVAC system kicks on. Despite promises to the contrary, DH's cleanup efforts were woefully inadequate. Dust is INSIDE ceiling fans, appliances, and electronics. And DH's cleaning team declined to clean windows, blinds, and other dust-covered areas. The team's supervisor opined that we would be living with the dust for months if not years. As part of the same project, DH was to replace water-damaged, hardwood hickory flooring in our dining room. In the garage, we had a product box of remnants from previous installations; the exact flooring is also installed in two other rooms. Despite photographing the product information and taking sample pieces, DH delivered and installed similar but inferior flooring. DH claimed it was the best match. The new floor looked cheap and didn't match that in the other rooms. Using the product information on the box in the garage, I did an internet search. In five minutes, I found the exact flooring at two retailers in our immediate area. DH's error added weeks to our project's completion date. During their hire, DH sought to convince us that they are the ones called to clean up the mistakes of other companies. For your next project, we suggest you find a company that cleans up after DH--one that will treat your home and its contents as they would their own and that works to a higher standard--and hire them.
