Great Pizza, Terrible Service. Apparently, We Interrupted Someone's Phone Time. We visited Red Rocks because the Toast app offered us each an $8 birthday reward. Pizza, beer, and $16 in savings? Sounds great! We arrived around 2 p.m. on October 25. The restaurant was practically empty, with only one other couple. You'd think service would be excellent. You would think. Our server seated us, took our order, and was told upfront that we wanted SEPARATE CHECKS. We ordered two draft beers, a beet salad, and a prosciutto pizza. Unfortunately, the real VIP that afternoon wasn't a customer. It was our server's phone. Earbuds in, eyes glued to his screen, he seemed completely uninterested in serving anyone. We repeatedly had to flag down someone who appeared to be a cook just to get water and assistance. Even HE tried getting the server's attention! Apparently, the restaurant had Wi-Fi, but customer service had lost its connection. Then came the bill. Despite requesting separate checks, our server arrived with ONE bill. We reminded him about our individual Toast birthday rewards. His response? "Oh, you want to split it?" Yes. That's literally what we said before ordering. He then admitted he'd never seen the Toast app, called his manager, and returned saying the rewards were only valid for online purchases. He offered an employee discount on one combined bill instead. Here's the irony: He was holding a TOAST payment terminal while acting completely baffled by the TOAST rewards program. We weren't asking for special treatment. We simply wanted to redeem the birthday offers that brought us there. Instead of professionally explaining the situation, he became visibly irritated and suddenly blurted out: "ARE YOU REFUSING TO PAY??" Nobody was refusing to pay! We were trying to understand the promotion. But the best part? When we asked his name, he snapped: "I DON'T HAVE A NAME!!" Well, that's a first. I've encountered rude servers, slow servers, and disappearing servers, but never one who apparently exists without an identity. Perhaps his name was Bluetooth. That would explain the earbuds. RED ROCKS MANAGEMENT: If you're using Toast promotions to attract customers, please train your employees to understand them and handle questions professionally. And maybe remind your staff that customers shouldn't have to compete with TikTok, Instagram, or whatever is happening on their phones for basic service. For reference, this was your only front-of-house employee around 2 p.m. on October 25, 2026. Hopefully YOU know his name. The food wasn't the problem. The problem was an employee who seemed genuinely annoyed that customers had interrupted his screen time. We came for pizza and birthday rewards. We left with a customer-service horror story. Public Service announcement. This restaurant is a zombie restaurant. It's barely operational. No beer, the taps have been removed. They ran out and have no replacement kegs. The bar is as sad as I've ever seen. No Vodka, no tequila, no whisky. Very few wines. The dining room is empty. My wife and I were initially greeted and served by someone who introduced himself as the "general owner." At first, he seemed friendly and provided us with a good impression. However, as time went on, his attitude changed, and another server stepped in to assist us. She was much more attentive, kind, and helpful throughout our experience, and we genuinely appreciated her service. When it was time to pay, we wanted to leave a cash tip specifically for the female server because she was the one who had provided us with the best service. We intended to give her the tip personally. However, before we had the chance, the man approached us abruptly and rudely questioned us about where his tip was. This interaction left us with a very negative impression. We understand that tipping is optional and should never be demanded or treated as an obligation. What disappointed us the most was that he seemed more concerned about receiving a tip than ensuring we had a positive dining experience. His behavior was unprofessional and overshadowed what could have otherwise been a pleasant visit. We believe that good service should come from genuine care for customers, not simply the expectation of receiving a tip. read more

I found RedRocks while walking around Old Town and was craving pizza so decided to give it a shot. We ordered the bruschetta and the il fungo (mushroom) pizza. The waiters were very kind, but the food took forever to come out. The restaurant was not very busy either and it still took forever. The bruschetta came out first and it tasted good, but the quantity I think was not enough only 3 small pieces of bread with the salad taking up the majority of the plate as you can see from the picture. After we finished the bruschetta we had to wait a very long time for the pizza again and the mushrooms were not well distributed on the pizza with some slices having a lot and others not. Overall the pizza tasted good, but be aware of the wait time. Some pizzas are labeled as taking longer on the menu, but the pizza we ordered did not have any notice of that and we had to wait almost an hour after ordering. read more

The place is under new management! I've been here once before under the previous management. I went in an unfortunately, the place was almost entirely empty, save for the service staff. We arrived a little after 5, and were seated immediately. The new management was incredibly friendly and thoughtful, and even went out of their way to comp and give to us for free a pizza that was mistakenly brought out! I met some friends here after work and was looking forward to enjoying a good time. My friends got there earlier so they started at the bar area and took advantage of happy hour specials (they go through 6pm). We moved to a table afterwards and ordered drinks, appetizers, pizzas, and a pasta entree. Everything was going great until we saw a COCKROACH along the wall next to our table. One of my friends trapped it under a glass after it started coming onto our table. We tried to ignore the mishap but then it happened AGAIN and we just couldn't stomach staying any longer. Our waiter, who was great from the get go, comp'ed us our appetizers and a couple of drinks. He apologized on our way out. Based on employees' reaction, I think this is an issue they're aware of. WROST service I've ever had at a restaurant!!!! We get there, all the servers are sitting at the bar and the AC is broken. We are given water with no ice and the server seems as confused about the situation as we are. Then we wait 45 minutes in the heat, we see the pizza chiefs make pizza after pizza (even though we are the only people in the restaurant) and don't see our order at all. I have to ask the waiter what is happening with our order and he tells us they are doing a 25 pizza to go order before ours!!! I wish I could give more than 5 stars. My husband and I recently went to Red Rocks for a late dinner. The food was delicious, and the service was welcoming and attentive. The best part of our experience, however, happened at the end of the evening. After having paid for our meal, my husband left his payment card on the table. An employee named Joey Diaz, who'd already been gracious to us, located my husband's phone number and called him. We weren't home yet; we were able to turn around and reach the restaurant before it closed. Joey was waiting on the sidewalk, in the freezing cold, to bring the card to our car. NY pizza is hard to replicate but that's what we wanted and this restaurant has it on the menu. It was a disappointment. The dough was soggy. There was no crunch. We ordered extra pepperoni but to us it looked like a regular pepperoni pizza. Even though it didn't taste like a NY slice it did warm up well the next day. Ordered an Old Fashioned and the downfall was they use small ice cubes which watered the drink down faster than a large ice cube would, which I'm use to. Red rocks used to be my go to happy hour and pizza place. There have been numerous changes in the last year and a half, and these have not been for the better. Their pizzas are not what they used to be and their pastas are every bit as bad as they have always been.
