The reason they don't remove you from their list is that they want to count you as a "subscriber" to their advertisers, even if you are desperate not to receive their polluting, wasteful, bothersome junk mail. I am very glad to hear that there are others that are bothered by this as much as I am. One point I wanted to make was that the US Postal Service is in on the game. They are also being paid to deliver this environmental nightmare and turn our mailing boxes into garbage cans. They are also very much profiting. I have been trying to talk with someone at the post office regarding this and the policy of Refused Mail, which is explained on their website under Domestic Mail Manual. What I understand from reading their policy is that they should be picking up mail that is labeled as "Refused". But, they do not. I plan on sending letters to my congress people. By the way, if you should include any comments about your dissatisfaction with businesses who use this form of advertising on Yelp, they pull your review. The attorney generals of each state this company pollutes with their advertising should file lawsuits to stop them and seek big damages and fines. Think a class action law suit might help folks? I don't even want to give it a one star! I have asked on numerous occasions, for over 5 years to remove me from their mailers. At first it was every 6 months I was removed. Then I had to ask again to be removed, and for 6 months I was. Now, I have asked over 7 times for the past 4 months to REMOVE me. They do NOT. What does it take to be permanently removed from their mailers. I do not want these coupons over stuffing my mailbox. This is harassment and I can't find anyway to be removed for good! Nightmare - flood them back with RTS. They even have blank addressed mailers that the USPS forces upon those who have managed to unsubscribe (which only seems to last so long). This company is disgusting. I have tried for years to be removed from their mailing list. I called, emailed, and filled out their online form, several times. They have NO interest in removing you and they will NEVER remove you until you take legal action against them. A form 1500 from the USPS is a good start, but more legal actions would probably be necessary. I will have more information as I proceed. FYI part of my job is marketing. Harassing people is a very toxic and disgusting way to generate revenue. I would never do this to another human being, and I intend to fully pursue charges and damages against this company. Some suggestions: Contact the state attorney general Contact the Postmaster General Apply for a restraining order Contact a consumer affairs lawyer This is a multi-million dollar company and would not be easy to sue. Eventually though, I believe an ambitious, maverick, pro-bono lawyer could sue this company out of existence. That would be an interesting project. I knew of a local merchant who would systematically steal from his customers. He covered his legal bases for awhile, and was able to routinely steal from people for 25 years or so...until he did it to a lawyer. The lawyer, a young woman, sued him out of existence. He lost everything and went into bankruptcy while he was at retirement age. He will never recover. Apparently everyone who is writing here have the same problem. I was able to have my address removed from their mailing list when I spoke to the owner of the company couple years ago, but they kept sending the propaganda without my address in it, which the mail person kept putting on my box until I called them out. Now, they are sending flyers with the name of the last resident before me ( mind you I live here for the last 6 years). I will reiterate what I told the lady before: stop sending me junk mail or I will get that newspaper of yours and will call one by one of your advertisers and state to them the reason I will not buy with them anymore and direct them to a google research, so they can learn that their money isn't well applied by using Red plum. read more

If you are a fan of unsolicited mail that fills your mailbox, I would highly recommend RedPlum. Using the unsubscribe form on their website did not stop the mail from coming. Calling RedPlum on the telephone was a great way to waste time, as I was transferred to voice mails that would supposedly get me unsubscribed. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! read more

Scam alert! Scam alert! This company is a scam! They charged me almost $2,000 to supposedly send my "free solar program" ads to 22,000 homes in one day. (Not apartments, but all homeowners!) Out of 22,000 homes I only received two phone calls! 2 phone calls! The sales rep, Fred Bruno, said "sorry to here that, but did one sign up at least" in a sarcastic tone. Then thus guy had the nerve to Gerry kits with me on the phone as if he was upset. I ask for my money back or a list of the 22,000 homes, they say, they sent it to. As you can imagine they became unresponsive. Him and the girl named Katie who did the design. I wouldn't recommend red plum or Valassis to my worst enemy. It is a waste of time and money and I wish I would have read their reviews before I did business with them. Analytically if my ad was sent to 22,000 homeowners and 90% of them threw it in the trash that leaves 2200 individuals that at least read it if 90% of them weren't interested that still left 220 people that should have called. That's 1%, but even if half of a percent called, which is 110 individuals, I would have been satisfied, but the fact that only two called, lead me to believe that 22,000 homeowners did not receive my ad, and for that I want a full or partial refund. She was about to transfer me to someone but told me that I'll first hear a recorded message and blah blah blah, I insisted that she took down my information to get me off their list, then she just transferred me to another number. I simply hung up and dial her again. After a couple of times she relented and took down my information and promised to take care of me.
