Turley published the New England Antiques Journal for many years and I've enjoyed this magazine…read moreimmensely. Received my re-new notice in September 2018 for my Nov. expiration which I paid promptly $25.95. When I didn't receive my December issue I called and was directed to call somewhere else which I thought was very odd. Come to find out they have gone totally online so no more paper magazine. So now I have to jump thru hoops to get my money refunded! I spend a lot of time on the computer and reading my NEAJ magazine online is NOT my idea of relaxing to read! These RATS bastards took my money knowing damn well they were going under!!! The new online people have agreed to refund me pending me jumping thru hoops to get my money back. That's very kind of them as they really don't have to legally refund me. So Turley, I guess that is all your soul is worth! Any publication that I might be interested in, in the future I will be thoroughly checked to see who publishes it. Taking my money knowing you were going under....Go to hell Turley.

The ARRL is an amateur radio hobby organization that represents all amateur radio hobbyists. I've…read morebeen an Annual Member since '05, and Life Member since '23. They publish magazines, annual handbooks, textbooks, test materials and educational materials. They also do a lot of lobbying and moving and shaking with the FCC. They also sell a bunch of other miscellaneous stuff on the website. Lots of controversy with the CEO, and raising annual dues along with charging extra for the printed copy of the magazine. It is a layered organization with a lot of positions and titles, just like the Freemasons... is it all really needed? The main magazine QST is ok, I'd give it a 2 out of 5 stars. Lots of pseudo-technical articles written by folks who are not necessarily educated electrical engineers, but they hold an amateur license; QST has product reviews and obituaries with lots and lots of advertising. If you've read one QST, you've read them all. The League has their main office down in Newington, Connecticut. I've been twice, back in '06 and '14. They have a little display in the lobby, before the Centennial in '14 they'd give you tours. Now they don't. There is a brick building where you can operate ham radio. Technology, consumerism, and lack of interest has turned ham radio into an obsolete and dying hobby. That said, if it's your hobby, a trip to The League is a place to see... once. BT AR DE ####

A little background information about the American Radio Relay League for people who are unfamiliar…read morewith the organization... The American Radio Releay League, ARRL, is the national membership association for Amateur Radio operators. It is a not-for-profit organization which promotes interest in Amateur Radio communications and experimentation, represents US radio amateurs in legislative matters, and maintains fraternalism and a high standard of conduct among Amateur Radio operators. And now onto my review... I've had limited contact with the ARRL. Most of the times I contacted them were about joining or renewing my membership. I will say that this organization has a lot of excellent people working for them. I have always had excellent customer service and very polite and helpful service. I would recommend this organization as well as this organization's books to anyone who is interested in becoming an Amateur Radio Operator, or is an Amateur Radio Operator.
