I had "GOODYEAR" in Boardman service the transmission on My 07 Silverado Z71 in August 2017. 1 month and 300 miles later my transmission was toast. YES, 300 MILES!!! Took it to Redlich. The very first question they asked is "WHY did Goodyear even service a transmission with 125,000 miles on it"? "They should've never done that"! My reply, "BECAUSE Goodyear said it needed to be done"! Redlich took my truck in removed and completely rebuilt my tranny. They re-installed the tranny and I am down the road. All in 4 working days. The ONLY reason I'm not giving 5 stars is the Redlich mechanic left dirty greasy hand and finger prints all over my truck. On the front bumper, hood, fenders, grill, headlights, tubular running boards and the steering wheel. I never let Redlich know because I was happy that my transmission was fixed. Redlich is REAL!!! A five star rating? You've got to be kidding me! Redlich Transmissions are the biggest ripoff artists I've ever met. In the past I've gone to shops and suspected that I was getting ripped off but until now I was never 100% sure! Their 90 day warranty is hilarious. Ninety days is short enough that their work should last that long so when it fails just past 90 days, they don't have to honor a warranty. They will say the 90 day warranty is on the parts and that the parts are only giving them a 90 day warranty. They will say they will cover the cost of the part but you have to pay for the labor. It just so turns out that the cost they are charging for labor is the same cost that other shops charge for the entire job (parts and labor), plus they will only warranty the job for 90 days (again) when other shop's warranty is 1 year, so they don't lose anything. Actually, they would make a profit because what you would be paying for is parts and labor anyway. If you try to file a complaint with the BBB, they will lie saying you chose the house brand part and knew it only had a 90 day warranty when you never even knew they had a house brand part, because they told you they only use quality name brand parts! I guess it should be no surprise that they will lie to the BBB. After all, they would have to lie or they'd be admitting that they ripped you off. They have reviews on their website saying things like: "Their honesty and value mean a lot," "This is a place that cares about their customers," "Excellent service," "Very customer friendly." Give me a break! But I guess they couldn't tell the truth on their website either. They wouldn't get much business if they told the truth about what tremendous ripoff artists they are! Be warned! This used to be a class act business, sorry not anymore, they diagnosed my vehicle, then sent me an estimate to someone else's vehicle, once that was corrected I approved the repair, they called to say that the transmission was still not acting properly and they would have no choice but to rebuild but did not know why. The original estimate was over $500, the new estimate was $3400 plus the original. I declined further repairs here and they stated that they thought original diagnosis would work but eehhhh sometimes you just don't know. Still demanded the $500, could not provide the old parts that were replaced and would offer no warranty on the replacement part, they stated I would have to go through the manufacturer but could not provide me with who that was because they use a lot of vendors. Go elsewhere, a complete scam, the eccentric owners son will tell you all you need to know about online auctions and how they only have one employee at their Ytown shop, all trans are rebuilt at night by private contractors and are paid $165 for a total rebuild, this way they could avoid payroll taxes and health benefits!!! . read more
